I performed on the Warped Tour!

Yes yes, I know its been a long time since I posted anything.. I'll be better about that I promise..

But I should probably mention before I forget, that on the 25th of this Month, I did I guest spot on the VANS(tm) Warped Tour in Columbia Maryland. This is the first Warped Tour where they included stand-up comedy. Mustafa, a fellow comic who started at Winchester's comedy club with me and moved to L.A., has been touring with the rockers for months now, and asked some of his old colleagues if they wanted to do some time. I finally caught up to Mustafa at the gate and he looked positively worn out. L.A. and touring had not been kind to him. He had bags under his eyes. He'd always been kind of portly, but when I saw him I noticed he'd had a sharp loss of weight. 40 lbs., he told me later. He told me of the comics who had also come to L.A., but had lost their struggle in a competitive game and retreated back east. "L.A. isn't about talent, so much as perseverence," He said. He voice was almost completely hoarse. When he to me to the performance area I found out why.

Rather than a real stage, they gave us basically a floor, and it was up to us to catch the attention of passing show-goers. It felt like a very grass-roots way of doing comedy, like I was a street performer. I kind of wish that I'd gotten to do more of that earlier in my career, I think that overall I would've been better preparted for the stage after effectively training out in the wilderness.

But at any rate, I had fun, it was my first time doing a truly major venue (not counting the clubs) and I would love the opportunity to do it again.

Could this be the first crack in the hatching egg that is my career? We'll see!
