Hmm... I've really been meaning to post but I've been soo busy... anyway, here's a review of things I've been meaning to post, but haven't...
I'm home. My mother wakes me up to remind me that I have to move my car to the other side of the road for the street sweepers to clean that curb. Failure to do so will get me a parking ticket, and I really don't need another one. So, I get up, get dressed, etc. While I'm doing this everybody else in the house leaves.. 10 minutes before the sweeper's supposed to arrive I go to leave and...
The lock is broke.
I try everything.
I turn that little switch in the doorknob but whatever its supposed to be connected to inside the door its not anymore. I can turn that little knob forever in either direction. 5 minutes to go.
The keyhole is on both sides of the door. It works fine. It doesn't matter because that's not what's trapping me in the house, its the knob.
We have a door made by Magna-Seal, a company that makes nothing but impenetrable doors and locks all day and prides itself on their security. I couldn't believe this! In other words...
I'm about to get a parking ticket for not moving a car that's all of 35 feet away from me total because I CAN'T GET OUT OF MY OWN HOUSE!!
2 minutes to go.
I hear the sound of bristles sweeping the curb further down the street, and decide that there's only one thing to do..
Stage a breakout. I can see the movie deals now, "Escape from 4006 Callaway Avenue!"
I open the ground floor window in the living room, and break out of my own house getting covered with spiderwebs in the process, all the while putting up with the worried stares of motorists who see a guy exiting someone's house through the window with a bag slung over his shoulders... I RUN to my car, enter it and nearly peel out, then re-park it... but then came the CANNABALISTIC NAZI NINJA NUNS!! hehe just kidding (mostly.)

I put my two weeks in at my job as Data Entry for U.S. customs so that I can begin a non-temp job at AT&T Maryland Relay.. um.. yeahhh.... that was dumb.
July 11th,
It was the 1st year anniversary of Jamie's death, and I wasn't doing too good.. Ms. Linda (Jaimie's mother) Called me up and wanted to have dinner. I agreed and we did, and talked a little bit about Jamie.. she tells me she's so glad that I was in Jamie's life, because I made her last year or so happier than she'd ever seen her previous.. I needed to go, and I'm glad I did, even though old wounds kind of re-surfaced.. I think It was something I needed to deal with... Jamie, I still think about you, and I love you always... anyway...
I began my 2 week training period with Maryland Relay, the phone service for the deaf. Met my classmates first...
Ms. Karen. A nice, outgoing, extremely social 53 year-old woman who never, ever, EVER shuts up. This is a good job for her. I usually wait with her for half an hour for the bus and we have a long conversation, of which I contribute about 2 sentences.
Kwan. 35-year old mother of 2 (I think). She's never been rude to me really, but she's always mad. All the time. She's like Ms. Karen's polar opposite, she's not really quiet, so much as sullen. She's quit since then..
Janee (Juh-NAY). She seems nice enough, about 21 years old and going to Catonsville Community college. This girl knows how to dress, and her shoes always always match her bag and shirt. She never fails with this.
Shakyla (Sha-KEEL-lah). She's from Oregon, and I get the impression she's just getting used life in Baltimore. She's nice. Thinks I'm kinda weird, but I can understand that.
Shanee' (Sha-NAY) She's pregnant, and she also loves to talk, though not nearly as much as Ms. Karen. She's stopped coming to work in the last couple of days..
Then there are our trainers..
Cindy. A rail thin girl who's pretty cool, and knows what she's doing. She's a former marine even though she weighs like 2.5 grams and she eats as if she were 5 of me.
Tara. I must admit I was... what's the word... taken aback by her. She's the same height and build as Jamie. She wears stuff from Hot Topic just as Jamie did, she has this thick flowing mane of black hair like Jamie's, She's into British Comedy just like Jamie. She's even bi-polar with borderline personality like Jamie.
That's just scary.
I never made an effort to get to know her really but she was competent at her job even though training was a ridiculous amount of technical information to expect to cram into us over a two week period. But the job itself has an EXTREMELY high turnover, and I myself am thinking of quitting already (more on this later) Working with Tara was nostalgic and saddening all at once, something that isn't even her fault..
And oh, I entered the 1st round of the "Funniest Person in Baltimore" competition tonight, Nat and Rachel came.
And contrary to my expectations I came in 1st place, so that means I'll be going to the semi-finals.
Anyway, I have to at least TRY to get some sleep so I'll flesh out some details later..
