dumbley-dorr!

Remus had received the owl whilst sorting through his socks upstairs from the Three Broomsticks, and was very puzzled as to why Dumbledore had just sent him a letter asking for his presence. Shrugging it off, Remus quickly put a pair of socks on his feet, followed by an old, though well-polished, pair of leather shoes, and attempted to neaten up his patched robes. When his mirror finally told him there was no helping the ragged edges of the carefully-sewn black fabric patches, he sighed a little and picked up his wand, making his way out of Hogsmeade and towards the gate of Hogwarts. Flooing may have been quicker, but walking would be far better for stretching out his limbs, and he relished in the excellent weather and cloud-free sky.

As expected, the gates to Hogwarts swung wide open, and it took him about twenty minutes to tread his way to Dumbledore's office, greeting several ghosts (and threatening the resident poltergeist) along the way. When he reached the griffin, he stood looking at it, uncertain of what to do. Dumbledore hadn't given him a password.
