Author's Notes: This is in the same universe as a big bang I recently wrote for the couple. You don't need to read it to understand. It's set in an alternative universe where everyone is human and Danny is a tattoo artist who meets and falls in love with Ethan.
Danny’s fingers dragged along Ethan’s arm as the man slept beside him. There were several burn marks on his boyfriend’s arm, all made when he sunk into depression almost a year ago. They were scars now, marks Ethan was ashamed of and hated people looking at.
They weren’t Ethan’s only scars. There were others that Danny learned of as he explored his boyfriend’s body. Small, white lines marked the inside of Ethan’s thighs that were made when he was a teenager and were almost unnoticeable. Danny never even noticed them until the light hit them a certain way one day while they were in bed together. The mood had quickly been killed and Ethan ran off to his own room, shutting himself away from Danny for hours.
He only recently learned that Ethan’s uncle was an abusive drunk and Ethan often took the beatings for Aiden, resulting in broken bones and a small scar along his eyebrow that happened when he was roughly shoved into the corner of a fireplace.
After each scar revealed to him and the story behind it told, Danny would kiss the mark. Ethan thought he was worthless and that Danny deserved better than him, but Danny told him he was wrong, that fate lead them to one another.
“I want them gone.”
Danny was startled out of his thoughts, his fingers falling away from Ethan’s arm. He wrapped his arms around him tight and pressed a kiss to Ethan's bare shoulder. “I can do that.”
