Stiles tossed another marshmallow at Scott from across the room. The boy flinched slightly, but showed no signs of annoyance. It was weird how calm his new friend could be. Most boys would have tackled him by now, or at least snapped. Scott was a special snowflake like that.
Maybe if he threw them faster? Yeah, no. Stiles wasn’t about to waste the whole bag of marshmallows on trying to break the impenetrable calm that was Scott. He wanted to eat some of them, too.
“Dude, do you ever yell at anyone, like, ever?” He finally snapped, causing Scott to turn to face him.
“My mom says I’m not supposed to yell at people, so I don’t.” Scott replied before returning to his comic book. “Besides, I’m just gonna eat them later.”
“Gross!” Stiles exclaimed.
Scott ignored him in favor of picking up one of the marshmallows closest to him on his bedspread and sticking it in his mouth.
Stiles, for all that he loved marshmallows, didn’t see how Scott could eat that when they both knew for a fact that they had their dirty gym clothes sitting there last night as they dug through their backpacks for their homework.
He decided it was his turn to ignore his friend and returned to his snack. His dad never remembered to buy marshmallows, so this bag from Mrs. McCall would need to be savored.
