since i'm living in japan, i thought i'd offer some unique and "untranslatable" words/phrases this language has:

ひらひら [hira hira]: literally means "flutter", like the sound fabric makes as it waves, but can also mean the feeling one gets when walking into an abandoned house in the middle of the night

わびさび [wabi sabi]: one translation is "the flaw in an otherwise perfect person that is the reason that person is beautiful"

こいのよかん [koi no yokan]: the sense when you first meet someone that you are going to fall in love

どきどき [doki doki]: this one is used all the time, and is literally the sound the heart makes when you are flustered or excited, and it's beating fast, used to describe the feeling of being around someone you have strong romantic feelings for or someone who makes you faint
