Danny held the flashlight in front of him as he entered the abandoned and supposedly haunted insane asylum. Ethan was behind him, claws out. They were hunters and they had seen reports of people being reported dead or missing after staying the night in the old building.
Danny could feel the hairs on the back of his neck raise as he walked deeper into the asylum. “This place is giving me the creeps,” Danny said, one hand going towards the gun in his holster. He took the safety off, getting a bad vibe.
Ethan gave Danny’s shoulder a gentle squeeze. “You think we need back up?”
“I don’t know. I just have a weird feeling.”
“Which normally means danger,” Ethan pointed out.
“Maybe.”
A door slammed somewhere to their left and Ethan ran in front of Danny to protect him. He scanned the area but didn’t see anything out of the ordinary. Danny’s hand touched his shoulder. “Should we call Lydia or Stiles?”
“I think so,” Ethan said. “Let’s go back outside. We can wait for them out there.”
But just as they turned around, the front doors slammed shut. Ethan got ready to pounce. “I don’t think this place is abandoned.”
“I don’t think so either,” Danny said. “Try and break a window. We need to get out and find back up.”
Ethan nodded. “Stay behind me.”
They moved towards one of the large windows. Ethan tried to punch it, but as soon as he got close, there was a small flash and he was thrown back. “Mountain ash!”
Danny looked closer and confirmed it. On the windowsill was a black line. “Someone was expecting us.”
He reached out to brush it away when he felt a chill go down his spine. Slowly, Danny turned around and came face to face with a see through figure, and she looked angry. “E-Ethan!”
Ethan lunged at the figure but with a flick of her wrist, a broken table slid across the floor and pinned Ethan to the wall. Ethan howled in pain. A piece of wood had stabbed him in the side. “Ethan!”
Danny spotted an old fireplace and ran for it, grabbing a firepoker as the ghost screamed and came after him. He slashed at it and it dissipated. He threw the fire poker aside before running to his boyfriend. “Ethan.”
“I’ll be fine,” Ethan wheezed. “Just-just help me push this away.”
Danny quickly pushed aside the table and pulled Ethan away from the wall, inspecting the wound. It started to heal and Danny gave a sigh of relief before taking Ethan’s hand and pulling him towards the window. He quickly pushed aside the mountain ash. “Get us out of here, Ethan.”
Ethan smashed through the window and helped Ethan out, but just as Ethan tried to climb out something grabbed a hold of him and pulled him back in. “Ethan!” Danny screamed, trying to reach out for the wolf. Their fingers barely touched before Ethan was dragged away. “Ethan!!”
