“No, Derek stop!”
Scott heard his friend’s hushed voice coming from just a few feet away, and he sounded very irritated. So Scott crept closer and hid behind a tree to listen in .
“Derek!”
“I’m sorry.”
There was the snap of a few twigs and then someone falling against a tree. “It’s just-we can’t keep doing this.”
Scott became a little more curious and walked a little closer to see the pair. As he got closer, he could see the two of them. Stiles was leaning against a tree with Derek in front of him, their bodies almost touching.
Derek reached out and placed his hand on Stiles’ cheek and Scott just stared in shock when Stiles didn’t push him away. He became even more confused when Stiles reached up and placed his hand over Derek’s. “I am not somebody’s dirty little secret.” He linked their fingers together and pulled Derek’s hand away.
“You’re seventeen,” Derek said. “I’m twenty-five. If this came out, there would be so many problems. I could go to jail, Stiles. Or worse, your father would probably put a gun to my head.”
“Then maybe we shouldn’t have started this at all,” Stiles said. “I love you Derek.”
Scott couldn’t help but to let out a gasp at Stiles confession. He and Derek were dating?! Since when? And how didn’t he figure it out before?
Derek suddenly pulled away from Stiles. “Someone’s out there.”
Scott mentally smacked himself. Of course Derek heard him. He turned and started to walk away as fast as he could. He could hear Derek following and started to run hoping Derek wouldn’t catch up.
“Derek, it was probably a hunter or something,” Scott could hear Stiles say. “Come back here, we’re not done talking.”
The next time Scott saw his best friend after that, he couldn’t look him in the face.
