Julia giggled, making Kali frown in confusion. She was her Alpha, she wasn't supposed to laugh at her suggestions. It didn't matter that she was a werewolf, she was still a member of her pack, and therefore she was still her Alpha.
"It's just..." Julia tried to explain. "You don't have to. Really."
"But you're mine" Kali explained. "The others have to know that. That's why I must mark you."
"I'm pretty sure the noises we made let everyone in a five mile radius know about it" Julia giggled again, rolling over in the sheets and pressing her body against her.
"Point taken" the other female granted, accepting her warm body pressed closer to her.
Kali turned her head, observing the werewolves that used to integrate her pack. They were now just a bunch of corpses, piling up like trash, on her way. And among them, there was only one she intended to find, that she needed to locate.
She found the druid separated from the rest, alone, and barely breathing. Julia tried to ran away, but was no match for Kali's swift kick, that sent her back to the ground, making her choke on her own blood. She could hear it, her heart beating slower, she could see the light slowly fading out of her eyes, the life falling out of her body. And observed as her chest went up and down, wondering if it would be for the last time.
"I love you, Kali" Julia confessed, delivering a kiss on her lips. "I really do."
"I love you too" she whispers once their lips untangle themselves. She causes Julia to smile again, and then sinks into her warm, thin lips once again.
"I really did love you" Kali mumbles under her breath before walking away.
The beating of Julia's heart continues, steady, for an entire minute. Then she knows it's slowing down. She was crawling away, and Kali allowed her to. Of one thing she was certain; if Kali delivered the finishing blow, it would be inevitable for her to cry.
And in the darkness, there was no place for tears.
