Wooo. I am feeling hella productive lately. This weekend I took care of a bunch of pressing stuff, including reviews of the film Valerie and Her Week of Wonders and the art/comic zine Anhedonia. Also wrote a back-of-dvd blurb for The Slackers: A Documentary, which will be out soon. Plus, less exciting derby, bill paying, and ladyfest-related responsibilities. And after nearly a week of lazy, I'm back on my daily regimen of 50 crunches and 30 push-ups. Justin and I managed to squeeze in a trip to the Walters yesterday, capped by a sinus-clearing Thai lunch. I was digging the religious medieval art, as I love the heavy use of gold + robin's egg blue, but I don't think Justin was as excited. He seemed pretty impressed by the suits of armor and accompanying skull-cracking weaponry, however. Also, the wing of Art Deco & Impressionist pieces was awesome to see up close.

Thankfully, it's actually warm at work today, as I forgot to turn off the floor heater on Saturday. I've been slogging through massive website updates, making sure all the new releases have descriptions, pumping out a metal-heavy playlist (seriously if I see the words DOOM, DEATH, and BLACK anytime in the next week I think I'm gonna lose it) and scouring le interweb for news items. Lately I've been worrying that I'll start to loathe all things music, due to constant immersion, so I've been trying to bone up on my other passion: reading. This weekend I knocked out Joe Meno's How The Hula Girl Sings plus I devoured the latest issues of ANP Quaterly, Kitchen Sink, Wax Poetics, and Punk Planet. Yeah, I guess I'm not that burnt out on music afterall. Oh, and for those looking for ANP in Bmore, there's copies at Atomic Books and Red Emma's.

This week looks to be a bit less hectic, as there's no practice on Wednesday. I'm hoping to get some more reviews done (SELDA!) and possibly some fiction writing (Electro Beaver Girl!)
