Oh goodness I need to update this more! My journal title is starting to live true to the name.
Summer is going on. Laura Keltner got married, Shane's brother got married, Shane and I are still slowly working on wedding plans, so it's a definite summer of romance. This past Wednesday (the 20th) marked one year since Shane proposed to me on the Ada Hayden bridge at sunset. :)
I'm working at 3M as a summer temp, so I'm getting anywhere between 40-56 hours a week. It's pretty good money for a college student! 10.50 an hour, 1 1/2 time on Saturdays and double time on Sundays. Way better than a cruddy restaurant. I'm working the overnight shift there, which is from 11pm-7am, and it's really not that bad. I really don't mind sleeping during the day. At least if there are plans, all I have to do is work my sleep schedule around it. I'm living in the campus apartments, but since they're campus housing, I don't pay rent, just a lump sum which is actually a lot cheaper than an apartment considering.
I move out of here on August 4th and move back into my school year home, Wallace Hall. I really do miss that place. It just feels like home to me. I'm really excited because I'm the Fall '07 Vice President of Wallace, so I'm pumped to do what I can. The first few weeks, however, won't be so pleasant because Wallace is an older building and isn't air conditioned, so I'll be living between my parents house and Shane's parent's house. I'm pretty excited for the school year to start again, too. I really do enjoy it here at ISU. I'm just not looking forward to buying books and supplies. :\ I'm also already thinking about possible school year jobs. I really don't want to work in a restaurant. Fazoli's was enough of a hell hole. I'm thinking somewhere like Copyworks or Target. I just need income during the year. I'll also probably be working at Wallace Hall Desk for around 10 hours a week if I can.
Shane decided that he doesn't want to go into Psychology anymore and instead will be a Chiropractor. I am the luckiest woman...EVER! :) He's planning to go to Palmer College in Davenport, so we're getting everything worked out for that. He's applying there really soon and we'll head down to Davenport to take a look at the college and possible places to live. We'll be there around 3 years, so it'll be a good experience for us. :)
Hopefully I'll post more soon. I really need to update this more!
