Attraction Meme
SO AS I'M MAKING MY WAY, DOING MY HOT OR NOT MEME (Yes I'm still working on it, ssh) I'm noticing how different my characters feel/react toward attractions. SOME THOUGHTS:
Ed- isn't very special. He has a straightforward way of seeing things. Girls tend to score higher on average (Ed is straighter now than I've ever played him in my LIFE this can only go down) but don't hit his pings really hard so no girls score like a 9/10 when periodically men do. He has a strong morality so sometimes things are just NO. He will literally feel NO ATTRACTION to some friends, despite them being perfectly good looking. He's very typically boyish in this way. Similarly he tends to be REALLY ATTRACTED to people he would REALLY RATHER NOT BE. This mostly results in punching.
Kaito- has very specific... levels that things must fall within. He likes sex and is a sexual person, but not to the point where it gets in his way or hinders his judgement at all. Children are no. There is no 'age' for which applies to children, it's more maturity and how you look. He won't have sex with a woman, but if a woman is EXCEPTIONALLY AWESOME she'll score a few points anyway. Young men he can judge casually as 'might be worth it in a few years'. He also very much has certain types he likes and certain types he doesn't. He doesn't like to be challenged. So if you're going to stand up to him you better fucking well be able to top him COMPLETELY or you're going to die. He also doesn't like crazy people. (Sora was commenting on how Jiz is a real! masochist! but Kaito wouldn't touch Jiz with a ten foot pole.) He likes normal people who happen to be okay with/turned on by being abused. As far as appearances, it's difficult for me to label his idea of what is hot. It's less... masculinity and appearance and more... definition? Looks are great but he appreciates people with sharper and interesting personalities. "Sharper" and "interesting" as they pertain to Kaito are not necessarily the same as they would be to most people.
Kira- likes sex and has very little sex drive. He likes it from a 'hormonal teenage boy' standpoint and doesn't care from a 'I'm an immortal sword and in love with someone I can never have' stand point. A 5 with Kira is like a 9 with someone else, because it means he'd do you in an instant if the chance came up, but he's not really going to pursue it. 6 (I don't know if he's scored anyone that high yet) means he would actually make an effort to get you into bed even if you didn't appear interesting. 10 is Setsuna and Alexiel. Katou is Kira's main fuck and he's only a 4 at best. He just doesn't feel a lot of sexual attraction. 2 or 3 is a perfectly respectable number from him. 0 means he'd never touch you.
Luke- is dumb. I mean. ....no yes. SO LIKE. Luke has plenty of hormones and likes people and he especially likes girls but he doesn't really CONNECT THE TWO very often. He doesn't feel a lot of sexual attraction. If you have giant tatas you will score higher because he LIKES THOSE but he still doesn't really... carry it over to sex in his head. EVERY NUMBER HE HAS GIVEN ANYONE IS PLATONIC AND/OR THEORETICAL. He feels no current impulses to do anyone. He also doesn't really judge people by looks unless you are REALLY AMAZINGLY GORGEOUS. Pretty much everyone is reasonably attractive in his eyes. So everyone scores a 5 and then goes up or down depending on various factors. Down is if there is something unignorable unattractive about you, or if there is some reason he just. Can't feel attraction (Dist would be under a 5 not because of how he looks but because he's DIST). Up is if you have either larger than normal breasts, or if you're a girl who tops him in some way, or a closer male friend. Pretty much anyone who has positive experience with Luke can get a 6. A 9 implies he cares a LOT. 10 means you hit one of his horrible pings like being topped by older badass smarter respectable awesome men. Both Van and Garlock get 10s for similar awesome/unattainable reasons.
Reborn- feels attracted to people he likes. Looks don't really have anything to do with it. He tends to like people who A) live honestly being themselves or B) are hilarious in some way. Characters like Hibari, Yamamoto, Maman and Colonello all score high for this reason. Not how they look or what they do with their lives or what they believe or what they are capable of but because they are all very honest about who they are, whether that is air headed mother or crazed commando baby. He also appreciates certain rarely seen types of badass (Mitsuru goes here. Hot chick who kicks ass and believes firmly in the power of a good education, lolo) and tends to score women overall slightly higher. People who don't really ping him end up in the 3-4 section usually based on potential or looks, but he probably wouldn't have sex with anyone below a 6 or 7. 0
Ticky- would rather kill you than fuck you, and as such only scores people higher than a 3 or 4 if he has some sort of contact with them that makes him think they'd be an entertaining fuck. If it's just looks or he's never met you, 0's are common, 2's or 3's if he can say you're attractive but doesn't really care. Some people, despite having a sort of attraction for, the desire to kill still waaay out weighs the desire to fuck (See: Rabi, Abel).
Vash- it's actually easier to do actual attraction than spiritual beauty points. I just DON'T KNOW ENOUGH ABOUT THE CHARACTERS ANYMORE. Anyway. He DOES have a few hormones, and more over is capable of attraction that isn't entirely sexual. That said, most men won't ping him at all (hence the 'PASS') and when he rates women he means it is a platonic sort of way. All ratings are entirely theoretical since Vash wouldn't have sex with anyone in camp even if the rule was broken, but it's sort of "well if I wasn't a PLANT and my body wasn't HORRIBLY SCARRED then..." yeah.
Viral- doesn't ping on most humans. This is as gross to him as furries would be to you. But he is the sort to be overwhelmed by certain points. He pings HARD on jesus girls, and pretty well on Gar boys. And then there are the ones who just GIVE HIM NO SAY AND RAPE HIM and he... 'like' isn't the right word, but he knows his place in life )= He doesn't really ping people in a sexual way at this point, but more in a "topped by" way. And even when he does get used to humans he still doesn't have a lot of hormones running around.
Zack- KIND OF A WEIRD ONE FOR ME. Zack is the type of guy who can appreciate most people! But when it comes to actually finding someone attractive/feeling attracted to them he is one of my overall lowest scorers. He likes Jesus types somewhere between their mid-teens and mid-twenties (He's not a PEDO he just SPEND FIVE YEARS IN A TUBE and it sort of off set his sense of his age in proportion to others). Particularly quite or particularly playful types are good. He very honestly LIKES THE GOOD QUALITIES IN PEOPLE. He doesn't have any issue with disliking people for being jerks on any level and it's a very simple equation of asshole != sexy to him. He can score people semi-high (5) for being just REALLY HOT, and higher for not being particularly attractive but for hitting his jesus pings (6). But most people rank around 3 in that "well you look good but I probably won't hit on you" sense. Also, as a work around to the asshole != sexy issue, topping him is the only way to score REALLY HIGH POINTS and you can do this if you're a good or bad person )= But it's a lot trickier if you're bad, if you're good he will HAPPILY LET YOU TOP HIM ALL OVER THE PLACE. oh zack.
