[ The sound of scrambling? Yeah, you're hearing it. ]

Ow, ow, OW -

[ Clap, blunt person object hitting the ground, electricity, earth moving, and another blunt object hitting something else~ ]

Like there are any monsters that can defeat...

[ pause ]

...Al?

universe you win

I'm here, big brother!

[Too late to help with the monsters, but... but yeah.]

I've never been in this part of the library before. I didn't know there were monsters in here.

[ He couldn't see Al for all the flailing. ]

There aren't! This is some curse bullshit!

[Al had a feeling this was going to take a while. He sighed, sitting down next to a stack of books.]

It's probably safer to go home, then. Find the last few books tomorrow.

[ Postponing work over a silly thing like getting stuck in the library, such travesty - ]

If we ignore the monsters, it's kind of like a normal day in the City anyway...

[Al kicks at a can on the floor and winces when it makes a veeeeeery loud clangy clang noise.]

That too.

[ But Ed is pretty sure he'd seen other people at the library earlier, if in different areas. They hadn't run into anyone else. ]

This curse seems a little different from the rest though...

[Al looked around, trying to figure out what Ed meant. Monsters they'd done before, getting trapped alone they'd done before, but both at once was definitely new.]

Brother, I think we should head back to the main library.

Yeah. Which way was it again? Left from here?

[ Ed walks to the end of the aisle and finds... that there is no left. ]

...Were these shelves even here before?

[Al's voice is young and uncertain as he turns to look.]

I-I'm pretty sure we came right...

[ Sighs grumpily and starts walking right. ]

This had better be the way because if it isn't...

[ Well, the librarians won't realize if he destroys City property until after they make a clean getaway, will they? ]

[No, Edward, Al is not letting you blow up the library. Fountains sure, military bases why not, train stations every other day, but not the library. This is sacred ground.]

Well if there's no way out there that means we're at the corner of the building, so all we have to do is keep going diagonal and we have to get back to somewhere.

[Theoretically.]

[ He doesn't WANT to blow anything up, especially not a library! But desperate times call for desperate measures and he's not so fond of this specific library by the nature of how it works, either. ]

That'd be a great idea, if I hadn't just sealed off the only other direction available we've got because of that monster, Al...

Hey, it's not my fault!

[Al sighs and looks around.]

Okay. If we go straight we should be able to go around the monster and then we can go back to the left. And no more blowing up books!

[ Ed's ignoring the first and last part of what Al said. ]

We could try going over the shelves too.

[Al thinks that if that's all Ed's ignoring it's a better than average day.]

You're too short to get down on your own.

Don't say it like that!!
