Well crap nuggets.
I don't remember if I posted about it or not, but on Saturday, my laptop's power cable became entangled around my foot and took a header off the table. As a note, there were 9 other laptops and a desktop set up on the table as well, but they're fine.
In any case, the barrel of the power supply was bent at 45 degrees and the power socket was off set from the hole.
So, with the power supply dead, I ordered a replacement one off of eBay, hoping that was the extent of the damage. Apparently not. Plugging the power supply in, I get no charging status on the laptop. The likely case is that the power connector came free from the motherboard.
At the moment, I pulled the harddrive so I can back it up in case I need to send it to HP for repairs and the battery has been pulled to keep the charge as long as possible.
*grumble*
Does anyone have a reference for a good laptop repair place? It's that, or if that costs too much, a new laptop.
