*grrrr*
I haven't been archiving as of late because of a endlessly bad batch of DVD media and it has come to bit me in the rear this evening.
While working on my current photoproject, Photoshop struck up a conversation with.
"Excuse me," it said.
"What?"
"We have a small problem here on the mirrored working drive."
"Problem?"
"Well, it's probably nothing in the grand scheme of things."
"What problem?"
"You see, we're sort of out of disk space on the mirrored working drive."
"What do you mean, 'sort of out of disk space?' We can't be out."
"You're right, the disk isn't completely full."
"Oh, good. Um, then why did you stop?"
"I need at least thirty five megabytes to write this file to the disk, you see."
"Uh huh."
"And there is only twenty-seven megabytes left. So, if you want to preserve these images for your clients, you need to get off your rear and archive those old projects."
Yeah.
Great. Of course, burning 8gb of image data to a DVD takes a while.
*twiddles thumbs for a while*
