Hidden battery fee for iPhone users, "It's like the iPod problem, only worse."

Yeah, it looks neat, but one more reason to beg off for now...

That is a REALLY big thing I don't like about some cell phones and the like. To me it seems like one more way to bilk us out of money.

And there is an an excellent counter point in there, but it doesn't address all the issues. Don't get me wrong, Jobs and company are masters of industial design, but they really dropped the ball on this one with their sealed case cell phone design.

This might be fine for an iPod, having to ship it off for 3 days to get the battery replaced, but my cell phone battery is going, send me the battery, let me replace it, so my downtime is minimized. We turned off the land line because we don't need it with our cell phones. If we have to ship off our cell phones to get a battery replace, we're dead in the water.

Here's hoping. Don't get me wrong, the whole idea of OS X running on a hand held device is pretty bitchin'. The iPod uses a proprietary firmware, but the iPhone is OS X stripped down for a smaller operating environment. The same idea as Windows XP Embedded.
