Canada's nationwide long gun registry was finally repealed two days ago. After costing tax payers in excess of a billion dollars with very little if any results to justify its existence, it finally got shut down after 17 years of hard work by the DCRA and other shooting organizations. I don't know all the firearm laws in Canada, but I suspect there might be more than a few people swapping rifles and shotguns with other legitimate owners to ensure the old registry becomes a worthless database as quickly as possible. One more arrow in our quiver to fight global gun control! :)
*Quebec isn't part of Canada-- most of my Canadian friends would wholeheartedly agree with that. Quebec wants to develop its own long gun registry. Why would anyone want to live there is beyond me... Canada's firearm laws are still horrendous compared to what most of us US citizens have to put up with, but hey, it is a good start!
