"Suikoden" General Series Moodtheme

Oct 09, 2009 00:42

Hey, everyone! Breyzy here. Long time no graphics post. O_O; Uh, for this entry, instead of icons I will be posting the overall Suikoden video game series moodtheme that my sister Yin and I worked on. Hehe, we're such fangirls of this series!

You can see the whole moodtheme HERE. :D

NOTES:
*You can download a zip with the moodtheme images and admin. console codes at the following link: SendSpace.
*Please let me know if the zip needs to be reuploaded! I will try and get new links up ASAP.
*Not sure how to install a moodtheme onto your LJ? Check out the FAQ courtesy of the awesome comm crackified! They explain it much better than I could *sweatdrops*.
-->PLEASE NOTE: all of the coding seems to be correct to our knowledge, but we had problems with 3 images when we initially uploaded the theme. If you end up having the same issues, we found it easier to customize/edit the individual images (using the HTML coding in the admin code!). Be on the lookout for the "inherit image from" option for similar moods, as that was our biggest issue.
*If using, please remember to CREDIT! You can either credit breyzyyin or full_moon_sways. Credits for moodthemes usually go in a person's userinfo.
*This moodtheme covers the general Suikoden series! Images for moods in this theme come from Suikoden, Suikoden II, SuikoGaiden, Suikoden III, Suikoden IV, Rhapsodia/Suikoden Tactics, Suikoden V, and Suikoden Tierkreis. They are *all* from OFFICIAL Konami merchandise (such as official game art, novels, manga/comic anthologies, the card game, magazines/artbooks, etc.).

Unfortunately, as there are only 132 moods in a moodtheme and there are over 108 characters in *each* main Suikoden installment (and that's not even counting the still relatively large casts found in the side games!) we weren't able to put nearly as many characters as we would have liked. We even "doubled-up" characters for certain moods, but that wasn't always possible...so, apologies if a character you really like is missing! We definitely included all of the main characters and Tenkai Stars, and tried to include all of the sentient humanoid species found in the games though. Unfortunately, we could not include all of the various monsters or animals that end up joining the cast. We tried to really pick images that would fit for the various moods as opposed to what the character actually represents. Hopefully, we managed to have a balanced representation for all of the games...and, to prove that we are dorky, we made a "Masterlist" for all of the moods with the characters in them and what games they are from (as well as explanations for character choices when we felt it was necessary!):

1. Accomplished: Lucia (Suikoden II, Suikoden III)
~Umm, well...not only does this image showcase that Lucia is a kick-butt female character, but it also conveys a sense of authority and command that is the essence of her character. Lucia became the Chief of the Karaya Clan at a relatively young age and has proven herself to be a very capable one--earning the respect of both allies and enemies alike while ensuring the future prosperity and honor of her clan.

2. Aggravated: Diiwica (Suikoden Tierkreis)

3. Amused: Rikimaru (SII)

4. Angry: Hugo (SIII)

5. Annoyed: Sierra Mikain (SII, SuikoGaiden)

6. Anxious: Gijimu (SII, SuikoGaiden) and Julie Latkje (SuikoGaiden)

7. Apathetic: Troy (Suikoden IV)

8. Artistic: Ramin (Tierkreis)

9. Awake: Lilen (SIV) and Jewel (SIV, Rhapsodia/Suikoden Tactics)

10. Bitchy: Zenoa (Tierkreis)

11. Blah: Geddoe (SIII) and Bazba (SIII)

12. Blank: Leknaat (Suikoden, SII, SIII, SIV, Suikoden V)

13. Bored: Juan (SIII)

14. Bouncy: Yuzu (SII, SuikoGaiden) and Taro {The Sheep} (SII)

15. Busy: Zweig (SV)

16. Calm: Chris Lightfellow (SIII)

17. Cheerful: Roberto (Tierkreis)

18. Chipper: Koyu (SII, SuikoGaiden) and Eilie (SII, SuikoGaiden)

19. Cold: Pam (SIV)

20. Complacent: Bob (SII, SuikoGaiden)

21. Confused: Hero of Tierkreis/"Sieg" (Tierkreis)
~Technically, Konami has not officially confirmed/stated whether or not "Sieg" is the main character's name in Tierkreis...although it has been used in artbooks. Until they confirm it either way, we will refer to him first as the Hero of Tierkreis and then "Sieg" here.

22. Contemplative: Zamza (SII)

23. Content: Haswar Falenas (SV)

24. Cranky: Rachel (SIV, Rhapsodia/Tactics) and Lino en Kuldes (SIV, Rhapsodia/Tactics)

25. Crappy: Trishtan (SIV, Rhapsodia/Tactics)

26. Crazy: Hai Yo (SII)

27. Creative: Chisato (SV)

28. Crushed: Pilika (SII, SuikoGaiden)

29. Curious: Millie (SII, SuikoGaiden)

30. Cynical: Selma (SIV, Rhapsodia/Tactics)

31. Depressed: Ornela (Rhapsodia/Tactics)

32. Determined: Mizuki (SIV, Rhapsodia/Tactics)

33. Devious: Sid (SII)

34. Dirty: Twaikin (SIII)

35. Disappointed: Sialeeds Falenas (SV) and Gizel Godwin (SV)

36. Discontent: Albert Silverberg (SIII)

37. Distressed: Miklotov (SII, SuikoGaiden)

38. Ditzy: Nanami (SII, SuikoGaiden) and Nina (SII, SuikoGaiden)

39. Dorky: Belle (SIII)

40. Drained: Kyril (Rhapsodia/Tactics) and Yohn (Rhapsodia/Tactics)

41. Drunk: Marina (SV)

42. Ecstatic: Lotte (SI) and Mina {The Cat} (SI)

43. Embarrassed: Norma (SV) and Ernst (SV)

44. Energetic: Manaril (Tierkreis)

45. Enraged: Cougar (Tierkreis)

46. Enthralled: Sarah (SIII)

47. Envious: Roy (SV) and Freyjadour Falenas (SV)
~Prince Falenas (the main character of Suikoden V) was a bit tricky to name here, as at the moment different media interpretations of SV have all given him different names (he has also been called Ardil and Faroush). We went with Freyjadour because that is the name given to him in the official novelization of Suikoden V, and those usually tend to become the "official" name of the main character according to Konami in later things that they do with the character...as is evidenced by Tir, Riou, and Lazlo. Sorry for any confusion on that end! Also, the "envious" mood pic here fits with Roy's character overall as he is quite envious of the Prince in general throughout the game (despite considering him someone he could also respect to an extent).

48. Exanimate: Arshtat Falenas (SV)

49. Excited: Miakis (SV)

50. Exhausted: Koichi (SIII)

51. Flirty: Linfa (SV)

52. Frustrated: Templeton (SI, SII, SuikoGaiden)

53. Full: Fuyo (SV)

54. Geeky: Ernie (SIII)

55. Giddy: Gabocha (SII)

56. Giggly: Bergen (SV)

57. Gloomy: Ayda (SII, SuikoGaiden)

58. Good: Riou (SII, SuikoGaiden)

59. Grateful: Atrie (Tierkreis)

60. Groggy: Corselia (Rhapsodia/Tactics)

61. Grumpy: Borus Redrum (SIII)

62. Guilty: Jowy Atreides-Blight (SII, SuikoGaiden)

63. Happy: Shoon (SV) and Nikea (SV)

64. High: Nemne (Tierkreis) and Sisuca (Tierkreis)
~They're both high on music...AND love! ♥ :)

65. Hopeful: Jimba/Wyatt Lightfellow (SIII) and the Flame Champion (SIII)
~Considering their roles in the story for Suikoden III, Jimba and the Flame Champion are both very hopeful characters. In many ways, they inspire hope in others...and they also carry a lot of hope within their spirits for the future.

66. Horny: Jeane (SI, SII, SuikoGaiden, SIII, SIV, Rhapsodia/Tactics, SV)

67. Hot: Georg Prime (SII, SuikoGaiden, SV)

68. Hungry: Lun (SV)

69. Hyper: Stallion (SI, SII, SuikoGaiden)

70. Impressed: Katarina (SIV, Rhapsodia/Tactics)

71. Indescribable: Dolph (SV)

72. Indifferent: Lena Suphina (SuikoGaiden) and Valeria (SI, SII, SuikoGaiden)

73. Infuriated: Viktor (SI, SII, SuikoGaiden)

74. Intimidated: Rakgi (SIV) and Lilan (SIV)

75. Irate: Nick (SV) and Subala (SV)

76. Irritated: Seneca (Rhapsodia/Tactics)

77. Jealous: Sasuke (SII) and Kasumi (SI, SII, SuikoGaiden)
~While the picture kind of fits regardless since Sasuke does look somewhat jealous in it...he actually isn't jealous of Kasumi in any way, shape, or form. Sasuke actually has a HUGE crush on Kasumi, but she is pretty oblivious to it. He's jealous instead of the person she's thinking so fondly of in this picture. :)

78. Jubilant: Rhett (SIII)

79. Lazy: Caesar Silverberg (SIII)

80. Lethargic: Sheena (SI, SII, SuikoGaiden)

81. Listless: Mokumoku (SII)
~Well, one of the definitions of listless is "lacking energy or disinclined to exert effort"...which kind of fits for Mokumoku in this picture, as he's sitting down in a rather comfy position with a content look on his face that made us think he probably wouldn't want to be getting up any time soon! :D

82. Lonely: Sasarai (SII, SuikoGaiden, SIII) and Luc (SI, SII, SIII)
~Well, they look pretty lonely in these pictures...but, "lonely" also fits for Luc's and Sasarai's stories as a whole as well given what is learned about their true origins in Suikoden III, and how that knowledge affects them personally (or, in the case of Luc, had affected him personally since he was actually aware of what he really was during the course of the first two games as well while Sasarai was not). I won't say anymore on that subject for fear of spoiling what's a pretty big plot development for these two characters.

83. Loved: Futch (SI, SII, SuikoGaiden), Bright (SII, SuikoGaiden), and Humphrey Mintz (SI, SII, SuikoGaiden)
~Okay, well...the Futch and Bright section of this mood is pretty self-explanatory. :D It might seem a bit odd to have Humphrey included considering his expression (unfortunately, Humphrey is not known for emoting well)...but, it actually makes a lot of sense in the context of the games. Humphrey became a young Futch's guardian in the first game, and while a very serious-minded and quiet person...you can honestly tell in their interactions with one another that he truly does care about Futch. He became a father-figure in the young boy's life, and even helps him to mature and grow as a person later on. They're probably our favorite "familial unit" in the whole of Suikoden...and that's saying something! So, of course, we wanted to use all three of them for "loved." ♥

84. Melancholy: Shams (Tierkreis)

85. Mellow: Andarc Bergman (Rhapsodia/Tactics)

86. Mischievous: Nalkul (SIV, Rhapsodia/Tactics) and Noah (SIV, Rhapsodia/Tactics)

87. Moody: Dario (SIV, Rhapsodia/Tactics)

88. Morose: Kirke (SI)

89. Naughty: Yuber (SI, SII, SIII)

90. Nauseated: Gremio (SI, SII)
~Gremio kind of looks a little sick to his stomach in this particular picture, and if you are familiar with the scene in the first Suikoden that this is depicting...it makes a bit more sense as to why we chose this image in the first place (but since that is a HUGE spoiler, I'll stop there).

91. Nerdy: Jess (SII)

92. Nervous: Freed Yamamoto (SII)

93. Nostalgic: Snowe Vingerhut (SIV, Rhapsodia/Tactics)
~A very young Snowe from the beginning part of Suikoden Tactics (which serves as a prologue of sorts to the events of Suikoden IV). Considering he isn't this age throughout the fourth game or the rest of Tactics, it kind of fits for the "nostalgic" theme (especially considering the somewhat sepia-colored tone of the background, which is often used in Suikoden games to indicate memories or flashbacks). We were also taking into consideration that, due to what ends up happening in Suikoden IV...Snowe is actually a relatively nostalgic character in many ways, as he often finds himself thinking back on earlier times in his life in an either wistful or somewhat ashamed/guilty manner.

94. Numb: Edge (SIII)

95. Okay: Lazlo (SIV, Rhapsodia/Tactics)

96. Optimistic: Yun (SIII) and Yumi (SIII)

97. Peaceful: Odessa Silverberg (SI) and Flik (SI, SII, SuikoGaiden)

98. Pensive: Diadora (Tierkreis)

99. Pessimistic: Jacques (SIII)

100. Pissed Off: Gau (SIV)

101. Pleased: Esmeralda (SI) and Tengaar (SI, SII, SuikoGaiden)

102. Predatory: Kika (SIV, Rhapsodia/Tactics)
~The Suikoden series as a whole is often noted for having incredibly strong female characters in every one of their games, and to us there is no better example of this than Kika. She became the captain of a den of pirates in her teens, and is so proficient and deadly with swords that she can defeat just about anyone without much effort. And yet, while very intelligent and tough...she doesn't fall into the "cold-hearted" stereotype that many RPG females who are considered "strong" female characters tend to get categorized under. Actually, she's incredibly kind and caring (which is even more of a surprise considering her role as a rather feared but also very much respected pirate). Honestly? She's just awesome on a whole bunch of different levels. :D And she definitely has the "predatory" look down too...when she's sizing someone up or getting ready for a fight she can be quite calculating and coldly (or not-so-coldly, depending upon the situation) fierce, as you can kind of tell in this picture.

103. Productive: Teresa Wisemail (SII, SuikoGaiden)

104. Quixotic: Maximillian (SI, SII, SuikoGaiden)

105. Recumbent: Thomas (SIII)...and if you squint you can also see Cecile (SIII) and Sebastian (SIII) in the background.

106. Refreshed: Meroon (SV)...and you can also see Retso (SII, SV) in the background.

107. Rejected: Tsaubern (Tierkreis) and Sphiel (Tierkreis)

108. Rejuvenated: Yula (Tierkreis)

109. Relaxed: Lo Wen (SII, SuikoGaiden) and Camus (SII, SuikoGaiden)

110. Relieved: Paula (SIV, Rhapsodia/Tactics) and Eugene (SIV, Rhapsodia/Tactics)

111. Restless: Franz (SIII) and Iku (SIII)

112. Rushed: Shabon (SIII) and Rico (SIII)

113. Sad: Jillia Blight (SII, SuikoGaiden)

114. Satisfied: Alen (SI, SII) and Grenseal (SI, SII)

115. Scared: Hix (SI, SII, SuikoGaiden)

116. Shocked: Apple (SI, SII, SuikoGaiden, SIII) and Stella (SuikoGaiden)

117. Sick: Viki (SI, SII, SuikoGaiden, SIII, SIV, SV)

118. Silly: Other!Marica (Tierkreis) and Len-Lien (Tierkreis)
~We were kind of going for the more "playful" definition of silly than anything else with this picture. :D

119. Sleepy: Wakaba (SII, SuikoGaiden)

120. Sore: Pahn (SI, SII)

121. Stressed: Anita (SII, SuikoGaiden) and Oulan (SII, SuikoGaiden)

122. Surprised: Aila (SIII)

123. Sympathetic: Clive (SI, SII, SuikoGaiden) and Elza (SII, SuikoGaiden)
~This picture was a bit of a challenge...but it does kind of fit with a more sympathetic feel (especially considering it actually showcases a much more softer-looking Clive than he usually is portrayed in art outside of flashbacks). In many ways, Clive and Elza are not only sympathetic characters in how their story plays out...but also in how they view each other: Elza has always sympathized with and cared about Clive, even when he was hunting her down...and Clive ends up sympathizing with Elza after he realizes the truth about what was really going on (and he even came to realize the feelings he had tried to suppress for her once more because of everything that happened and her actions towards him). The Clive and Elza story is both a surprisingly romantic one (which is odd because you really weren't expecting it to be at first) and also just a tragic tale at the same time. Again, I won't really elaborate too much more on it because of spoilers...but I'd definitely recommend taking the extra time to complete Clive's sidequest in Suikoden II involving Elza just to see what I'm talking about. We teared up quite a bit when everything was said and done, and so we really wanted to include them in this moodtheme somehow.

124. Thankful: Ted (SI, SIV) and Tir McDohl (SI, SII, SuikoGaiden)

125. Thirsty: Vincent de Boule (SI, SII)

126. Thoughtful: Cleo (SI, SII)

127. Tired: Nomno (Tierkreis)

128. Touched: Lyon (SV)

129. Uncomfortable: Nash Latkje (SuikoGaiden, SIII) and Meg (SI, SII, SuikoGaiden)

130. Weird: Rina (SII, SuikoGaiden) and Bolgan (SII, SuikoGaiden)

131. Working: Yoshino Yamamoto (SII)

132. Worried: Yovel (Tierkreis) and Kow-Low (Tierkreis)

~We had a lot of fun working on this moodtheme (probably because my sister and I are such big Suikoden dorks, lolz!), but I have a feeling I won't be making anymore moodthemes in the near future (they're very time-consuming! O_O). Still, we hope you enjoy the moodtheme! ♥
