Ed steps into the bare apartment. He grabs the phone and dials the number Sarah had given him, idly wondering if he was being charged international rates, and if so, how the hell were they measured over different worlds. But anyway, the ring tone came on.

Fortunately, Sarah recently started to actually keep her cellphone on and with her at all times, not just when she went out of the house. Of course, in this case 'on her at all times' equates to 'on the other side of the kitchen hidden underneath a pile of dishrags'.

beep! "Hello?"

"Hey, beautiful. You busy?"

"Wha--Ed? N-no, I'm not, I don't have work today and I'm almost done in the kitchen."

"Everything alright?"

[canon_is_god]

"Huh? Yeah, I'm fine, just had to scramble for the phone was all."

[full_metal_ed]

"Ah, okay. Well...I was wondering. Are you doing anything tonight? Say around dinnertime?"

"Um, no...my parents are going out to a play tonight, so I've got the house to myself."

[full_metal_ed]

"Well, I happen to have gotten some vouchers for dinner for two at some fancy restaraunt in the Nexus. And I really have no idea who to bring." His smirk could probably be heard in his voice.

There's a slight pause. "...Ed, you absolute GEEK! AAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!" Sarah's spazzy scream is muffled (she had the decency to pull the phone away from her mouth), and the sound of bare feet pounding repeatedly on tile floor might be heard.

"Uh, sweetheart? You there?"

"Yes, yes, I am!" SO MUCH GLEE RIGHT NOW. "Oh my God, thank you! What time are we going? How fancy is it? I'm gonna have to dress up, aren't I?"

"Oh good. Well, pretty fancy, I need to wear a fuckin' TIE to get in. So, yeah. How about seven o-clock? And yes, dressing up, yes."

"Alright, okay. I'll be ready by then. Eeeeeeeeee~! You want me to come meet you, or what?"

"Well, I'd like to pick you up, but really, I don't wanna risk getting the wrong portal. I'll meet you in the lobby of the apartments. How's that sound?"
