Trees!
Just finished planting two trees in our yard. They were gifts to my Mom for Mother's Day but we all benefit from their purtiness. I stopped by Lamoy's on 22B today and had them hanging out of the back of my car as I drove 30 the whole way home. I'm posting from my porch!
First I did this Crimson King Maple behind the garden in next to the driveway. My mom has always wanted one of these. I've always loved them too. I used to like the ones outside of Jen's apartment on Bailey.
The second one is a flowering Crabapple. It'll get pink/purple blossoms in the Springtime. The last two apple trees we had here didn't do too well. They were victim to some kind of bug attack. I planted this one next to Jen's garden where we used to have the swimming pool. I'm hoping it does well there. The ground is very sandy. I put in some organic soil around it.
I can't wait to watch these grow up. It's exciting to have made these additions to our yard. It's not even something like me putting in some mulch or a rock wall. These are living things. Fun!
