Why is it that, over the phone, people think I'm a boy and/or 12? The lady who came out to check the phone/internet line called to say what was wrong with it and she goes, "Are you the owner of the house?" I said, no, but I live here.
Phone Repair Lady: "You're the son, then?"
Me: *trying to maintain a normal tone of voice* "No, I'm the daughter."
PRL: "Oh, okay. Are your parents home?"
Me: "No. But I'm the one who called in."
PRL: *pause* "How old are you?"
Me: *wishing for the power to bitchslap people through a standard phone line* "I'm 25."
PRL: "Oh."
Seriously, WTF? Do I really sound like a 12 yr old boy over the phone? That's not the first time I've had something like this happen. I'm always getting people asking me if they can speak to an adult. Heh, next time that happens, I should be like, "Only if I can speak to someone who isn't an idiot."
Well, anyway, long story short, the I-wire is fuX0Red because it's as old as the house(which was built in 1948) and needs to be replaced. I have to talk to my dad about it, since his name is on the bill, otherwise I would've said go ahead and replace it. At least I know I'm not going crazy and that it's not my computer.
