Listing my top favorite dramas and the reasons why I love them. :3
#1) 野ブタ。をプロデュース (Nobuta wo Produce)

I love this drama so much. It's the 3rd j-drama I ever watched, and it's really close to my heart. ♥ It's what led me to JE and my currently huge love for KAT-TUN, as well as Maki Horikita being one of my favorite actresses. This drama is hilarious, at the same time, it has heart. From Akira's soy milk drunken antics, to the friendship developed between 3 unlikely people--what starts off as what seems a silly little drama, develops into something... else that I still am not sure how to define. The deceivingly simple plot--its subtle--is what makes it so great. Whenever I rewatch it, I feel like I'm experiencing it for the first time all over again; it seems like there's always things I never noticed before. Definitely a unique drama, with quirky, interesting characters, an original story, and lovely soundtrack.
#2) 花より男子 (Hana Yori Dango)

Looking back on all my favorite dramas, I really have to say that HYD is easily one of my favorite dramas. It's the perfect mix of humor, romance, and drama. I love it--season 1, 2, and the final movie, all of which I really enjoyed and followed intently. And you know how most shows/movies/etc. you expect sequels and whatnot to be never as good as the original? Well, not in this case. I just really think this drama was well written and well balanced, with a plot and characters that always keep you interested. It pulls you in with characters that you'll love and some that you'll hate. This is the drama I recommend to anyone wondering where to start in the wonderful world of j-dramas. :D
I'll admit I started off season 1 shipping Makino x Rui, but Domyouji came to grow on me a lot. He is hilarious, and I ended up being a total Domyouji x Makino fan.

Hilarious! If you're looking for something fun to watch, I highly suggest this one. In fact, this would probably rate #3 in my list. The two main characters are so loveable, especially Nodame. Nodame and Chiaki have to be one of the cutest (albeit weirdest) couple ever. Also, since it centers around a music school, you get to hear some wonderful classical music. The opening song is part of Beethoven's 7th, which I sort of went crazy for a while when watching this. XD Something I also appreciate is this drama's confidence in incorporating manga elements, such as Nodame's floating hearts and overemphasized blushes and ridiculous facial expressions that make you laugh so hard. A drama that is a ton of fun to watch. The two specials are a plus. And, well, Tamaki Hiroshi (Chiaki) is total eye candy. ;D
たったひとつの恋 (Tatta Hitotsu no Koi)

Oh Tatta Koi. ♥ This still remains one of my top dramas. I think it's a beautiful story about a first love. It may sound typical: poor guy (Kanzaki Hiroto) and rich girl (Tsukioka Nao) meet, face a lot of obstacles, especially due to their social differences, but it's definitely not overly cliched. There's definitely a lot more drama in this (with some humor here and there to lighten things up), and I remember how anxiously I would wait for each episode! I really enjoyed seeing the progression of the relationship between Hiroto and Nao, and how the both of them, as well as their friends, matured.
恋空 (Koizora movie)

Koizora is just, such a beautiful movie. While I've read reviews about it being unrealistic and whatnot, Hiro being a total asshole, etc., I still adore this movie. I've watched 4 times already, and I still get teary-eyed. I think it's a movie that, while really sad, also has its moments of happiness, humor--the small moments that make you smile. I appreciate how this movie is filmed, and how it's so emotionally involved. You're there in the ups and downs in their relationship. Also, the soundtrack is utterly amazing. Seriously, it's one of my favorites.
ブラッディ・マンデイ (Bloody Monday)

Talk about intense! This is probably one of the most suspenseful things I've ever watched. When I think about, there's not that many jdramas that I've come across that are suspenseful. There are twists at every turn, and the ending will leave you with your mouth hanging open. No, SERIOUSLY, you would never guess the ending. I highly recommend this drama. You'll be hanging off the edge of the seat from episode one, and you will be left craving for the next one every single time. Oh, and again, another great soundtrack!

Dragon Zakura has a special place in my heart for being my very first jdrama ever. ♥ It's what got led me into the wonderfully shiny world of JE. x3 Anyways, this is a highly inspiring drama about kids who rise up from the lowest ranked of all high schools, as they achieve to get into Tokyo University with the help of an unconventional lawyer. You've got such a cast of characters from the students to the teachers, and you can't help but get attached to them and cheer them on.
