powers, skills, pets and equipment:
Shiro earned the title of Paladin among the Knights of the True Cross Order. This title is only bestowed upon one person at a given time, the greatest among all exorcists in the order. To receive this title, the exorcist must be fully accomplished in a wide variety of abilities and skills at an exorcist’s disposal. Within the True Cross Order, these abilities and skills are organized into five titles-Dragoon, Knight, Tamer, Aria and Doctor.
Powers:
Aria: Most demons have a “Fatal Verse”, which upon being recited from scripture (Either the Bible or specific sutras), would result in the death of the demon. Shiro was an expert and used this often and could recite from memory with ease.
Tamer: Shiro has successfully tamed a demon to fight alongside him at times of battle; a cat sith spirit named “Kuro”. They enjoy a friendship-like bond. For the sake of this game, Shiro will not have this ability to summon Kuro, as the cat sith spirit is a little more than simply a pet-like animal.
Skills:
Dragoon: The demonstration of great ability to use ranged weapons, most often a variety of firearms, in combat.
Knight: The demonstration of great ability to use demon swords in combat. Shiro trained one student (Shura Kirigakure) for a short period of time in this ability, who later became a talented expert in wielding a demon sword. In the context of this game, Shiro will have some ability to use a bladed weapon, but will be unable to use any technique which would require a demon sword-as he no longer has one in possession.
Doctor: The ability to diagnose and treat ailments inflicted by demons. Shiro spent some time as an anti-demon pharmacology instructor and has been able to treat a great number of people afflicted by miasma. He has also trained one son, Yukio, in anti-demon pharmacology.
Equipment:
Key of Vanishment: Worn around his neck on a chain. It can be used to hide/lock away anything in a given location.
True Cross Order Crest: Worn around his neck on a chain. All exorcists are issued this crest, and it can be used to manifest a blade as a last ditch effort at self defense should an exorcist find himself at no other means. This was also used by Shiro to kill himself-by piercing his own heart-as he struggled to be free from Satan’s possession. Otherwise, it’s simply a means of identification, like a badge.
(To be honest, the series has demonstrated what this does, but has yet to actually give insight as to what it’s called. The name is a best guess as I’d asked around the fanbase for answers. )
