Okay, so Meg was a jerk and mentioned to me that Jim Parsons will be guest hosting KCRW's guest DJ program next week. I have proceeded to work my way through a handful of their past guests. Sarah Vowell! Janeane Garafalo! Conan O'Brien! Josh Radnor! Jake Gyllenhaal! It goes on and on. And they all talk about five songs that they love the most/have affected their life in some way. It's pretty badass and awesome.
Then we started joking about what five songs Jim will pick. Both jokingly and legitimately. If he picks anything Mariah, I'll seriously keel over. So. Now we have one place to ramble about all this to spare Twitter some of the flailing. You can make serious suggestions or goofy ones. Or both. IDRC. I am mostly just flailing that he'll be guest DJing at all. I love KCRW intensely (they provide some of the best acoustic/cover versions of my favorite songs) and this is pretty damn cool.
