i think this line is just particularly in demand because it is her last collection, and it's printed on a garment weight fabric (double gauze). it's also on quilting cotton but i have found almost no stores carrying it in that weight. plus her book just came out and has lots of patterns that are basically designed to work with the double gauze. so triple whammy. i've heard that reorders will be in stock at the end of may if you can wait that long.

The fabric is very nice. I believe it is the same as the Nana Iro double cotton gauze line. Very soft and has a wonderful drape like butter after a few washings. You're right, it is probably better suited for a piece of clothing than a quilt. Yeah, I also have her book (so-so). I think the quilting cotton is coming out later in May. I am not sure where I read that but I have been watching the release for this and must have missed the boat on it in the beginning of April when I went on vacation. :( If I see it anywhere I will let you know. I know overtherainbow.com has a few yards left for pre-order at a good price for $13.99 compared to the $16-$17 that I have seen on the nicer sites like purl, SMS, and pinkchalk.

ooh, it's nice to know the nana iro double gauze is similar. i have been eying some of the solid colors! i have some of the far far away already (i preordered it through the fabric fairy, but at like $15/yd, ouch) and just made my daughter a dress out of the peachy unicorn print yesterday! too expensive to make something for me but hopefully i'll get a few more things for her out of the bits and pieces I have left. i think the quilting cotton will be cheaper. fingers crossed.

The peachy unicorn print is so perfect as a little dress for your daughter! She's soo cute! I hope the quilting cotton is cheaper. I have seen the other prints in that fabric (if it is the same) go from $8 to $10 per yard. But yeh $15/yd does hurt the wallet! I thought I was being cheap about it when I saw it for $14 a yard. LOL I can't wait to see what you make out of them!

I called Seven Islands and they say Kokka is no longer making the quilting cotton due to Heather Ross' contract. Far Far Away will be available in limited quantities so get 'em while you can.
