※ ABOUT APPLYING ※
Can I reserve/request a character?
Yes. You may reserve a character here; the reservation lasts for 10 days without extension, and a player may only reserve one character at a time. If you'd like to request a character, the wishlist is here.

Does the character I apply for have to be human/humanoid?
Not at all! As long as we could work out the character being born from a cocoon, then we won't have any problems with accepting your non-human character.

Can I apply for a duplicate character?
Duplicate characters are allowed in Edensphere, regardless of whether it's the same canon character from a different part of the timeline, a different version of the character from a different series, an AU version or one pulled from another RP community. However, moderation will only allow up to three instances of the same character at any given time.

Before reserving or applying for a duplicate character, you must have demonstrated an ability to actively play a character for at least one month. Make sure to get moderator approval to sort out any complications or concerns about there being a duplicate character. If and when you get a mod-OK, be sure to reserve the character in advance--you are only allowed 10 days to hammer out your application and submit it for consideration. Please don't forget to use the appropriate special application as provided in this f-locked post.

Can I apply for an original character, or are OCs limited to those needed for the plot?
Original characters are allowed in Edensphere and are not limited to those necessary to the main concept and plot. We accept original characters, inclusive of the completely original and those inserted into fandoms. However, fandom-inserted OCs must not be related to any of the canon fandom characters because it would have altered their canon. The only exception to this is if the OC has history from another RP and interacted with canon characters in the past.

Before reserving or applying for an original character, you must have demonstrated an ability to actively play a character for at least one month. When you apply, please don't forget to use the appropriate special application as provided in this f-locked post.

Can I apply for an AU (alternate universe) version of a character? or a character that has background history in another RP?
AU versions of characters are allowed in Edensphere. Similarly, characters with histories in other RP communities are also allowed.

Before reserving or applying for these characters, you must have demonstrated an ability to actively play a character for at least one month. If the character is also a duplicate, don't forget the steps to applying for a duplicate. When you apply, please don't forget to use the appropriate special application as provided in this f-locked post.

I'm not entirely sure that I'm allowed to play this character, so can I ask you?
Absolutely. Feel free to comment on this Rules and FAQ page. If you would rather ask privately, please email edensphere@gmail.com, or you could message ten. [Fugue, fugue_angel; AIM: onlyinhindsight/tenthdivisioner; MSN/GChat: 10th.divisiongmailcom].

How does my character obtain a name? What kind of name should I pick/make up?
It's preferred that your character's name come from or related to his/her dream. Or you may choose from one obvious trait or characteristic. It's recommended that you pick a name that fits as accordingly as possible.

Having renamed characters can easily lead to confusion (especially upon the introduction of duplicates), so we ask that you please fill in the name on your character's LJ profile as:Edensphere Name (Character's Real Name)Log tags will be set up by the moderators, so please do not attempt to add your own tags but instead please post your entry and use the tag function () afterward to choose from the listed tags.

In the event that your character realizes and wants to use his/her real name, please notify a moderator to update your info and do a quick change on the log tags. If your character is a double or triple, the moderator will assign the means to distinguish your character from the others.

What should I write for my character's dream?
You could basically write almost anything for the dream as long as it somehow relates to the character. It could be really detailed or vague, abstract or symbolic, and so on. Feel free to mix and match character experiences, emotions, or even foreshadowing as you see fit--run away with it~

What IS the dream?
The dream is the only thing that a character recalls upon arriving in Edensphere. The character will have no recollection of anything in the past other than what might be considered ICly feeling that vague familiarity toward canon-mates or others that s/he has interacted with at a time before. Otherwise, the dream is the only lead that the character has to go by in regards to his/herself.

Wait, so my character has no memories--does this mean my character doesn't know anything?
The condition your characters are in is similar to retrograde amnesia and/or fugue. For further clarification, most of your character's functional memories would remain intact, and your character should be able to identify common things, such as body parts, other beings of the same species, commonly encountered creatures or objects, and the like. The moderators would be able to address further questions regarding the premise.
