More snow shenanigans

Feb 11, 2008 01:08

Last weekend it snowed again, but this time it snowed properly. None of these airy-fairy poofter clouds sprinkling fairy dust that's been kept in a freezer.

Check out my footprints.

At the top of the stairs.

From the balcony.

The car/bike park at Life Supermarket

From the bottom of the stairs. Check out my company bicycle!

Anyway, desperate for some activity to take my mind off my hangover, after lunch I called Shinichi, and asked if his kids wanted to come over and help me build a snowman or two. I'd never made a snowman before, so enlisting the help of some seasoned veterans (who are 13, 10, and 8 years old) seemed to be a good idea. So out I went to do activities I normally wouldn't do with a hangover, nor in decent weather.

A big cheerio to Rosie, who requested I throw a snowball at myself. I exist for the people.

This is what my snowman looked like at approximately 5 seconds into proceedings.

The body, and what was going to be the head when I had aspirations for him to be 10 feet tall.

Shinichi's snowman he was building on the porch.

Shinichi and Tatsuya sorting out the face components.

After a couple of hours, I decided I couldn't be bothered making my snowman the absolute collossus I had planned to, so I settled for about 4 feet instead.

Anyway, meet Clarence.

Yes, that green fly swatter is supposed to be a leg.

The victorious team Clarence...Hitomi, Makoto, Yours truly, and Tatsuya.

This is Shinichi's finished product, which I named Hugo, since it's a shitter name than Clarence, and I'm way too competitive for my own good.

Before I get into the next bit, check this guy out...

This is Yoshio Kojima. He is quite possibly the biggest household name in Japan at the moment, and not one class goes by without at least one of my kids jumping into one of his "sonnano kankenee" (loosely translated "I don't care about that") dances. As ridiculous as we'd find it, he actually grows on you a bit after awhile.

Anyway, while we were waiting for Shinichi to return with maccas, I was playing around with the video settings on my camera. Hitomi was mucking around oppapi-ing all over the place, so I decided it was too good a video opportunity (you know, I actually type oppapi then o_O) to pass up.

Hitomi - Opappi!

Isn't she just way too cute??

Anyway, that's all for now. I did have a Smash Bros Brawl session with Nick the other night, and took some footage. However, I'm going to edit it down once I figure out how Adobe Premiere works.

Expect it to be up by around late February...2015.
