So last night was Streetlight Manifesto! They were awesome as expected, they played some new songs from their upcoming project of 99 cover songs.. one of them was an acoustic version of Linoleum by NOFX, blew my mind! The Key Club was way too small of a venue for them though... it seemed over-sold-out, the amount of people cramming onto the floor was insane. I had purchased 2 shirts (a BOTAR one and a SLM one), so I was wearing 3 shirts and caught in this mass of people that was drifting around in 3 different circles.. all 3 of my shirts were soaked through with sweat, nasty.
Can't wait till they come back in Jan with the RBF. They're playing Grove of Anaheim which is a much larger venue and the HOB Sunset, which i've never been to, no idea of the capacity.
One of the opening bands was very interesting, Fear Nuttin Band - sort of metal-reggae group that's headed by these 2 awesome black guys, rooster and prowler. They put on a really good show.. i'm acquiring some of their music now. :)
After the show we went to Ryan's pillow party, which was pretty rad. There was less people than I expected but it worked out because we had exactly the right number of chairs to crowd around the dinner table and play King's Cup. As usual with King's Cup, we all now know eachother much better.. albeit we won't look at eachother in the same light again, but that's what drunken memories are all about, right?
