Guess.

I don't even have to say it, but Obama won.

Thank God.

I voted for the first time "today" (since I haven't been asleep yet) and it was an amazing feeling. I felt truly American as I walked out of my polling place today. I loved driving around Louisville and seeing all the "VOTE HERE" signs, and seeing all the cars in the parking lots. I enjoyed seeing all the signs people had put up for the local elections, especially for Perry Clark (who won, yay!).

John Yarmuth won his bid for reelection, which I am also pleased about. Anne Northup, not that I was a fan before, really killed me with her batshit question to Yarmuth in a forum. "John, why did you vote against Christmas?" *facedesk* I die a little every time I think about it.

I'm happy Perry won--I'm close to him and his family, and I've campaigned for him before. I'm a bit disappointed I didn't get to this time, actually.

All in all, I feel very good about the country at the moment, despite all the racist shit coming out of the mouths of some Republican friends. Rachel, Lee, and I were just driving into Bowling Green when we heard the news; it was certainly a great welcome back! We arrived on campus to hear people cheering and honking all over campus. Nothing has elicited that kind of response since WKU made it to the Sweet Sixteen in the NCAA basketball tournament last year.
