[Sporking] The Plus One of RWBY - Chapter 10 part 4
Note from Fufu: I'm sorry its taken so long for this to go up. Part of it was that college was finishing up for me so I wanted to focus on the work I still had left to do, then the other week, myself and Kirby were busy trying to finish up chapter 11 and call that done. Hope that's okay~. Now enjoy the remains of Chapter 10. Or maybe not cause its pretty rank.
Next day, Thursday.
"I need you to pick a table cloth!" Weiss said slapping two table cloths on a table that Ruby was sitting at. They were all in the ballroom getting things set up for the dance.
"Aren't they the same?" Ruby asked after a moment, she never checked to see if they felt different, she just looked and saw that they looked the same.
[Fufu]: So we gathered. Man, ProAJ must work for the Department of Redundancy Department.
Weiss sighed. "I don't even know why I asked." She said simply and walked away.
AJ and Yang were each carrying a large speaker system for the music and set them down with a loud thud.
[Fufu]: ...So he has insane strength now?
[Kirby]: ???Maybe he copied Yang’s Semblance???
[Fufu]: But her’s is mostly used in battle, unless he copied it then asked her to smack him around a couple of times to build up that strength. ...I wouldn’t mind if that was the case actually.
"So, you picked out a dress yet?" Yang asked Ruby while AJ went and picked up the last speaker system.
[Kirby]: I have a headcanon that Weiss helped them all pick out dresses and even made sure they had one ready for Blake.
[Fufu]: Well, she would have connections~.
"I have a few idea's but I still don't like it." Ruby said.
"Oh come on! Wearing a dress isn't that bad!" Yang said. "You'll see, my dress will be turning heads on Sunday! Weiss I thought we agreed! NO DOILIES!" Yang yelled at Weiss who got in her face.
"If I don't get doilies, you don't get fog machines!" Weiss threatened.
"Your dance is gonna have fog machines?" Neptune asked as he and Sun walked in.
[Fufu]: Hey! Where the fuck did you two get to? We’ve had to endure AJ for god knows how long!
[Kirby]: See, they’re fine. So why have AJ give us the “or are they?” earlier?
"We were thinking about it." Weiss responded smiling at Neptune.
"That's pretty cool." Neptune said.
"You ladies all excited for dress up!" Sun asked.
"Pfft! Ya right!" Ruby said.
"Laugh all you want. I will be turning heads." Yang said smiling.
[Kirby]: The emphasis was actually on the “I” not on “will” in the show. Kind of a nitpick, but the latter sounds more like a threat then the former, like Yang will be snapping necks or something.
"What are you boys wearing?" Weiss asked.
[Fufu]: ProAJ, pleeeeeeeease, put more into this! Don’t just make it straight up boring scene transcribing! Please! They do things! Vocal inflections and body language and gestures! Just- a little bit?
"Not going!" AJ said in the background and Yang went back there to argue with him.
"Uh… this!" Sun stated to his abs revealing shirt like it was obvious.
Neptune got in front of him. "Ignore him, for he knows not what he says."
[Kirby]: Okay, I can kinda see why people think Neptune is the gay friend. Still don’t ship Sea Monkeys though.
[Fufu]: I just see it as him being a bit over dramatic and mock horrified cause of his “brutish friend”.
Sun got back in front of him. "Hey! I may have moved to Mistral, but I grew up in Vacuo. It's not exactly a shirt and tie kind of place." Sun stated.
"Ya, we've noticed." Weiss said annoyed.
[Kirby]: You know, I’ve never really thought about it, but I think I could get behind a Weiss/Sun ship.
[Fufu]: Well, she is a natural Tsundere.
"Hey, AJ!" Sun called out to AJ and Yang.
[Fufu]: Sun, I thought we talked about this! Don’t acknowledge the Stu, it just gives him more power!
"What's up with Blake!?" Sun asked noticing a fellow Faunus's lack of presence here.
"I'm not going!"
"Yes you are!"
"No I'm not!"
"Yes. You. Are!"
"NO. I'M. NOT!"
"GUYS!" Ruby yelled getting their attention.
[Fufu]: Why is this here?! It cuts right in the middle of another ongoing situation, it’s out of place and it’s just confusing!
"Where's Blake?" Sun asked again.
"She's getting her rest right now." AJ said. "I'm not going!" He whispered to Yang.
"Don't start this again with me." Yang whispered back and they both glared at each other for a minute.
"Oh would you two STOP ARGUING!" Weiss yelled.
"Gladly!" AJ said and went back to his room.
[Fufu]: And then he just...leaves. What is even the point of him being here?
"I wish I could tell her how I feel, without messing it all up." AJ heard Jaune say in JNPR's dorm as he got near and saw Pyrrha walk up to the door.
[Kirby]: Nope, nope, nope. Leave JNPR alone!
[Fufu]: Oh fuck no, I remember this from my skim ahead! Turn the fuck around AJ!
"Then do it!" She said. "Tell her exactly what you just said. No ridiculous schemes, no pick-up-lines. Just be yourself. Be honest."
"But-"
"Jaune!" Pyrrha interrupted. "You can't get it wrong if it's the truth."
[Kirby]: Okay, shoutout to Jen Brown, because the way she delivers that line breaks my heart.
"You're right! Thanks Pyrrha! Good talk Ren!" Jaune said and AJ saw him walk out of their dorm and go right past him smiling.
AJ walked up and opened the door.
[Fufu]: *sharply blows air out of her nose, annoyed* Well ladies and gentlepeople, behold; AJ telling Pyrrha to suck it up and go confess to Jaune...by telling her about himself and his twagic past.
"Pyrrha!" He said annoyed. Everyone in the dorm, except Pyrrha, looked up at him. "Don't be stupid! Don't make others feel better at the cost of yourself I did that when I was young! I told everyone I was fine when I hurt inside and now you're just letting him walk away!? I thought you were smarter than that." AJ said and walked back out of their dorm and closed the door,
[Kirby]: Translation; AJ: “Hey Pyrrha, FUCK YOU AND YOUR FEELINGS!”
[Fufu]: Dude, telling people you were fine was not making them feel better! Doing things for people and putting on smiles and overall hiding the situation while hurting inside is a better example of what you’re trying to say. And besides, what does this have to do with anything? How long did this go on for? Why did this happen to you in the first place? Eh? Eh?!
[Kirby]: Okay AJ, here’s the part you missed while you had your head shoved up your own ass; when someone loves someone else, they want to see that person be happy, even if that person loves someone else entirely. Pyrrha has a huge heart and cares immensely for Jaune, so she’ll do whatever it takes to make him happy, including letting him go. No matter how much it hurts her, Jaune’s happiness is worth it to her.
[Fufu]: Aka, the I Just Want My Beloved to Be Happy trope.
[Kirby]: Pyrrha needs a big damn hug.
he saw RWBY's dorm open and Blake looked at him. She looked a bit more rested then ([Kirby]: “than”) she was before.
"What happened?" Blake asked.
"Pyrrha told Jaune to go tell his true feelings to Weiss without doing it herself to Jaune." AJ explained.
"Oh. What did you say before that? About hiding your feelings for others?" Blake asked. AJ walked into their dorm.
[Fufu]: SUDDEN CHARACTER SHIT! BREAK OUT THE CROCODILE TEARS FOR AJ’S BACKSTORY!
"I used to feel terrible all the time at school, from second grade to eighth grade I hated school and pretty much everyone around me. But if anyone, rather they were my friend or not, asked me how I was doing I would smile and say I was fine. I didn't want attention and I didn't want to bother anyone with my problems. I pretty much pretended to be a quiet person, I didn't say anything funny at school unless I was alone with my friends, I just stayed quiet." AJ explained and Blake took his hand.
[Fufu]: This doesn’t make sense. Why was he like that? This doesn’t imply that he was in pain and that he was hurting inside, it just says that he was an asshole even as a kid. Do you know who else came to despise the world around them but put up a facade to fool the masses? Aoyama Masaya from Tokyo Mew Mew. He grew up to be very cynical, and he didn’t believe the smiles people wore around him. He put up the front of being the dedicated straight-A student to please his parents and the public. Ichigo, the protagonist, even describes his smile as sort of sad looking, and she wants to make it so that his smiles are kind and genuine, since she likes those smiles. In fact, Ichigo is the only person who’s made Masaya feel genuinely happy in his life. But I’d rather not ramble on about these two. Not when I have a sporking that I can do it in instead… *hint hint*
[Fufu]: The point? You’ve failed, author.
"Why? If they're your friends then they could help you." Blake said.
"I just didn't want them to worry. I didn't want them to help me, I just wanted to end the day and go home without people asking to help me. I hated the idea of the attention I would get." AJ said.
[Kirby]: I hate that I can relate to this.
[Fufu]: Same here unfortunately. Its beginning to sound more like he has social anxiety as opposed to being cynical about the world and people; being too nervous to ask for help at the risk of being a bother or a waste of the person’s time.
[Kirby]: I don't see how any of this supposed to be particularly tragic though, it happens, no biggie.
"What happened after eighth grade?" Blake asked hugging him with her other arm.
"I just got tired of it. I realized no one was going to change and that everyone was going to be a jerk anyway,
[Fufu]: No-one was acting like a jerk anyway!
so I just stopped pretending to be any different than I wanted to be. I was still quiet, because I really don't want attention. But I would say something if I thought it was funny. I would sit there in class thinking and listening to other conversations and if I thought I could get a laugh I would say what I thought. If I got a laugh I would just feel so much better for a moment. It really is just a part of me to want people to laugh, even if I don't know them, but I also am shy so I have to decide if it's worth the try. Then I made a friend and met his group of friends and suddenly there was a group of like, eight people that I didn't mind being around, oddly enough, it was one of those groups that had that one guy no one liked. I always thought that was dumb and people didn't really have someone like that in a group, but they did."
[Fufu]: ...Once again, I can relate, sort of. Struggling to fit it, and being too nervous to even try. But there’s still some fail here; you said you only had one good friend, and yet here you mention more. Unless you just consider them acquaintances, but that would be a dick move since you say here that you didn’t mind them. I’d consider that enough to call them friends as well. Also, that last section makes jack all amount of sense. Groups having that one guy no-one liked and your group had him? What? And what about him? You ain’t talking about him. Don’t just introduce something like that then skip on like nothing happened!
[Kirby]: Fun story about me, I was extremely bitter as a teenager and sometimes got into fights with my teachers because I thought most of the projects they gave out were pointless. The worst was when I told my literary teacher that doing a school newspaper was a waste of time, because our school was boring and no one reads newspapers anymore anyways. Dropped the class entirely the next week since I had signed up with the assumption that we’d be reading classics, but ended up with a list of crappy modern artsy novels. The mature part of me says that I should probably apologise to my old teachers, but I still have enough bitterness towards them that I ain’t gonna.
"You sound like you miss them." Blake noticed.
[Fufu]: Like fuck he does. Why would he care about his friends if he doesn’t give a shit about his parents- AND I WILL NEVER LET THAT GO!
"I do, kind of. I have you guys now so I don't mind. But yes, I did actually consider about four people in that group my friends. I will definitely always miss my best friend though, we played video games whenever we had the chance after school, and during school we would talk about what we did the day before in video games. I think I have to prefer it here though."
"Why?"
"Is that a rhetorical question? I have you! Nothing could possibly be better than being with you."
[Fufu]: Once again, this is scarily like Edward and Bella. Or fuck, just Twilight in general. You are nothing without your soulmate, according to that series, and you should put your love interest before your friends and family. It doesn’t help that Blake has regressed into a demure woman who does jack all unless her man is there with her, much like Bella. Legit, I can’t even recall a scene post-relationship where Blake did something of her own accord; everything is done with AJ now.
AJ said smiling. Blake realized they would be alone for a while and they started making out, that went on for what was probably a long time and they had gotten a bit too into it and fallen on Blake's bed when there was the iconic sound of a picture being taken. They both stopped and saw Yang with her Scroll out.
[Kirby]: Yang: “Dammit, I was sure this was set to video.”
"Don't you have enough of those?" AJ asked annoyed that Yang keeps taking pictures of them.
[Fufu]: That is just creepy! No! It is not amusing either ProAJ! You’ve got some weird mashup of sappy romance and creepy romance mushed into your mind!
"No, and this one is unique because of how long you guys went this time." Yang said teasingly and the couple blushed and glared at her. "Come on! Keep going!" Yang said without any subtlety.
[Kirby]: Yang: “I can sell this to furry- I mean faunus fetishists!”
[Fufu]: LA LA LA LA I’M NOT ENJOYING THIS, I’M NOT PAYING ATTENTION TO THIS SCENE OR THIS BLATANT FUCK-UP OF CHARACTERISATION.
[Kirby]: Meanwhile, I just made myself aware that faunus fetishizing is probably a thing in Remnant. Urgh.
"Give me the Scroll!" AJ demanded as he got up and walked towards her.
"I promise I won't send it to anyone!" Yang spat out hopefully.
"Why do you even keep those pictures!?" Blake asked.
"You have some weird fetish don't you?" AJ asked teasingly.
"NO! I just plan on sending them to you guys in a couple years!" Yang said angrily and blushed.
[Fufu]: WHY WOULD THEY WANT THEM?!
[Kirby]: The descriptions are so odd here. Why is Yang angry again?
"Then why are you blushing?" AJ mocked Yang enjoying the one time he had the tables turned on Yang.
AJ eventually was forced out by a blushing and irate Yang and he laughed the whole time.
"So, were you two seriously about to-" Yang asked curiously.
"No. Yang! I'll have you know we agreed we would never do anything like that while we are in school!" Blake interrupted.
[Fufu]: Because you’re both good little kitties and you’ll wait till you're married!
"That doesn't stop some people though." Yang said suggestively.
[Kirby]: Yang: “You should have seen what Jaune and Pyrrha were up to last night! I’ve never seen a man bend like that!”
Blake blushed and went to the library with AJ, avoiding any further talk with the blond. Yang sighed when she left. "Oh well, at least their shipping worked out, wonder how Nora is doing with the Arkos ship?"
"Did someone say shipping?!" Ozpin asked excitedly. He was crouched in the window…
[Kirby]: ...Window Ozpin watches you ship.
"AH!" Yang screamed. She saw no one in the window…
[Fufu]: ...not touching it. You guys can see it. It’s awful. *puts head in hands* Just a little longer, then it’s one last chapter.
At the end of the next day AJ was on the roof looking out at Beacon and the lights everywhere. He heard the door opened ([Kirby]: “open”) and figured it was gonna be Blake again but saw it was Yang instead.
"Oh, hey Yang." AJ said hiding all sense of disappointment in his voice.
"Why don't you want to go to the dance?" Yang got straight the point.
"Why do you want me to go so bad?" AJ asked.
"Because it's so weird seeing how well you get along! You guys make out when no one is looking, you hold hands all the time, you cuddle whenever you guys sit together in lunch. I don't get how that happens when you guys haven't gone on a single date yet!" Yang yelled suddenly.
[Fufu]: Back the fuck off and let them handle their relationship in their own way! They do not need a backseat driver for this relationship! Couples can do whatever the fuck they want that makes them happy and that they enjoy doing together!
[Fufu]: And all this talk of couples and being happy and doing their relationship their own way just reminds me that a couple of people I watch on youtube - individually, they’ve always kept their relationship private, plus they never really did many videos together in the first place - who have been in a relationship for years now have broken up recently, and now I’m sort of upset, even though it was an amicable split and they’re both still friends.
"What?… You want us to go to the dance because it's weird that we are such a couple without ever going on a date?… What kind of reason is that!?" AJ asked.
"I just need a reason for how you get along so well!" Yang pleaded.
[Fufu]: Because - and I’m cutting the author and this damn relationship a big break here - they like each other and like to do things their own way!
"Fine! You want a reason!? It's called true love!
[Kirby]: *snidely* Oh AJ, if only there was someone out there who loved you.
We don't need to go on any stupid date. Just being around each other strengthens our bond, and we've been a couple for almost two months now right? Give or take. You could say it's a date whenever we are around each other." AJ explained.
[Fufu]: Again, cutting the author some slack, though only because he’s turned Yang into some weird ass stalker fangirl who’s absorbed in her ship; that is a fair point.
"But that sounds so weird! Who is gonna believe that!?" Yang asked.
"Just leave us alone! WHY are you trying so hard to get us to go to a damn dance!?" AJ asked again.
"You know what? I'm gonna go get Blake to go the dance and then she'll convince you! She isn't nearly as stubborn as you!" Yang said turning to walk away.
[Kirby]: So what this amounts to is the author finding a way to get AJ to the dance without having to make him look lame by agreeing to go.
[Fufu]: Cause he ain’t a real man if he decides to go of his own free will.
"AAAGGGH!" AJ yelled in annoyance that Yang wouldn't just leave them alone.
Yang was caught off guard by this and turned around to see AJ jump onto the railing at the edge of the roof and jumped off, created his Aura bow, and pointed it towards the Emerald Forest and disappeared.
AJ found he was suddenly over Beacon Cliffs and used his bow again to appear in the forest. He started heading towards the cave that Deathstalker used to be in, determined to use it for shelter. Pyrrha and Jaune had told them about their encounter with it. A Beowolf pack found AJ on the way attracted to his anger.
"Oh you guys wanna fight!? Have you seen what I did to those three packs before you!? The first one? The third one? The second one maybe!?" AJ asked and the Beowolf's around him visually flinched. "Ya! That's what I thought! We don't talk about what happened to the second one…" He said quietly before attacking the pack.
[Fufu]: OKAY THEN! HE BUILDS UP A TEMPER CAUSE YANG WON’T SHUT UP ABOUT GETTING HIM TO THE DANCE, WHICH IS JUST RUDE OF HER IN THE FIRST PLACE CAUSE IF HE DOESN’T WANT TO GO THEN LEAVE HIM THE FUCK ALONE, BUT HE THEN TAKES HIS ANGER OUT ON A BUNCH OF GRIMM WHO WERE PROBABLY JUST CASUALLY SPENDING THE NIGHT IN THAT CAVE. I’M AWARE THAT GRIMM ARE MURDEROUS CREATURES THAT WISH TO KILL HUMANITY BUT GOOD GOD, HE HUNTED THEM DOWN AND IS GONNA KILL THEM TO GET HIS ANGER OUT. GRIMM OR NOT, THAT IS JUST SICK.
The next day Ozpin was looking out the window of his office when Glynda approached him.
"Sir, I got a report from the Grimm scanners in the Emerald Forest. The amount of Grimm had dropped by hundreds. Do you have any idea what's going on? Professor?" Glynda asked.
"AJ is just venting." Ozpin responded simply.
"You call this venting?" Glynda asked.
"He's probably the best exterminator I have ever seen." Ozpin said to himself.
[Fufu]: AND THEY JUST CASUALLY CONDONE THIS. THEY ALLOW THIS TO HAPPEN, AND THEY DON’T THINK IT’S STRANGE THAT HE’S USING UNPROVOKED GRIMM AS PUNCHING BAGS CAUSE HE’S A LITTLE STRESSED OUT?!
[Kirby]: And we’re back to the psychopath argument. If he’s this emotionally unstable, then he shouldn’t be around other students and needs professional help.
AJ was had walked into another clearing, he had calmed down last night but figured he should kill as many Grimm as he could find while he was here.
[Fufu]: *throws hands up in air* Cause why the fuck not?! Its practically a sport by this point!!
He heard something leap at him from behind and he jumped into the air while swinging Nipzona below him.
[Fufu]: I’m pretty certain that this is the first mention of that bullshit weapon name since he first thought it up in chapter 8. Unless I missed it in all the clunky sentences and text blocks.
The Beowolf continued forward and slumped down headless. He suddenly felt like he was being hunted, he had been hunted by that Beowolf but hadn't felt this, so whatever was after him must be a confident and skilled hunter. "I FOUND HIIIM!" A voice shouted and AJ jumped over whatever lunged at him from behind. Or maybe Huntress…
He looked around and saw Ruby was the one that had attacked, Weiss came out as well, and then he heard Yang come out finally before charging him. He dodged her attempts at grabbing him before kicking her away. Weiss tried to freeze him in ice and he dodged before attacking and knocking her into the bushes.
[Kirby]: KILL HIM! DO IT NOW! SPARE US ANYMORE OF THIS PLEASE!
[Fufu]: MURDER HIM! *notices the sudden silence* It is 3 in the damn morning for me as of writing this and I am done with this fic and the OC. I would gladly help the girls hide the body.
[Kirby]: Hey dearie, you know I’m always down for a little character death. I’d prefer to make him suffer though and I don’t think the girls would be down for that. Let’s take him to the shed out back, got all kinds of fun stuff in there.
[Fufu]: Well ain’t you a sweet talker~.
"Back off." AJ warned as the sisters prepared to attack.
Ruby charged behind him and he jumped towards Yang to get away from Ruby. Yang began swinging again and he jumped and leaned out of every strike, even jumping seemingly randomly at one point, he actually had seen Ruby coming without even looking at her and easily dodged her swing trying to trip him.
He landed and let out his Aura as Weiss joined the fight. Yang stayed close and kept trying to grab him, Weiss and Ruby would attack randomly but AJ would easily dodge with his Aura flowing out since that boosted him in every way. They tried attacking at the same time but despite their coordination AJ would divert their attacks into each other.
[Fufu]: Cause he can fucking do that! You didn’t know he could do that? Well of course he can, don’t be silly! He could always do that!
He dodged a lunge from Weiss and threw her into Ruby as she was about to attack. Yang got fed up with this and tried to actually punch him. AJ continued dodging and eventually kicked her away and was about to start running when he felt something wrap around him. He looked down and saw the familiar black wrappings that Blake usually has on her arms.
[Fufu]: ...Blake doesn’t really use them as ropes, does she?
[Kirby]: The one she has attached to her gun/sword, ya. The other one we haven’t seen her use yet. I just assumed it was a spare.
[Fufu]: For the symmetry.
"You too!?" AJ asked the bushes behind him over his shoulder. Blake stepped out with a light smile.
"Yang managed to convince me." Blake said.
AJ sighed in resignation. Before suddenly twisting his body and throwing Blake past him into the others.
[Kirby]: All three of them, at the same time.
He turned and ran into the forest while they got up.
"Oh come on!" Yang complained.
AJ toyed with them, letting them see him at times but always staying just out of range, he could have gone faster but decided to play this game instead.
[Fufu]: Nevermind that Ruby could easily catch you with her Semblance and the only thing that would go against her would be the environment and whether or not she would have good enough control.
[Kirby]: Or Weiss with her speed glyph could either catch him herself, or help a teammate do so.
[Fufu]: Or Blake and Yang could work together and do some sort of complex tactic that would knock down the trees and slow him down enough that he’d have to maneuver around them, meaning the team could catch up quicker.
[Kirby]: Or- You get the idea.
[Fufu]: In short guys, the girls could easily catch him. There is no reason as to why AJ should be uncatchable. This is an insult to the girls’ individual capabilities and their teamworking skills.
He decided after a long chase to head back to Beacon and the girls would look around for awhile before giving up and heading back to their dorm.
[Kirby]: Look at what a wonderful teammate AJ is; leaving his team in a forest filled with monsters. Truly he is the pinnacle of caring and responsibility.
[Fufu]: *removes glasses so she can’t* Sorry, screen’s too blurry. And if I can’t read it, I ain’t acknowledging it.
When they got back, they were all breathing heavily and exhausted, then they looked up and saw AJ smugly smiling at them breathing heavily as well but not nearly as much.
[Fufu]: *tosses her glasses at the computer screen* I can sense his smug fucking smirks even without my glasses on! …*begrudgingly puts them back on ‘cause she sort of needs them*
"Damn, that was a good run!" He said smiling.
[Kirby]: In a forest. Filled with monsters.
[Fufu]: Well, he did cut down the population of Grimm thanks to his “UM NOT GOIN TO TEH PARTEE” hissy fit.
[Kirby]: Still, it’s this kinda of horsing around that gets people killed.
[Fufu]: Unfortunately not AJ.
Yang suddenly found some energy and tried to punch him, Blake reached him first and got between her and AJ.
"What the hell is wrong with you?" Yang asked AJ.
"I realized when you convinced Blake that I was going to end up going to the stupid dance so I decided to have you guys chase me everywhere as punishment." AJ said smiling.
[Fufu]: That...was just a game to him. And he did it as punishment to the girls. Nevermind that most of the team do have the endurance to run for as long as they have here - I think Weiss would be the only one who would struggle after a long period of time, and maaaaaaybe Blake - that is still a twisted kind of punishment. What if they’d passed out from exhaustion? Need we once again point out that the place is teeming with Grimm?
[Kirby]: Why do the girls even deserve punishment?
[Fufu]: Because Kirby, they are forcing AJ to go to the dance. And that’s bad.
[Kirby]: Look I hate dances as much as any anti-social, but if someone important to you (ie. your best friends, or YOUR GIRLFRIEND) wants to go, then suck it up and humour them for an hour.
[Fufu]: You took the words right out of my mouth. That point plus another; if he doesn’t want to go, then leave him the fuck alone. It goes both ways. He could either man the fuck up and go for his girlfriend, or they can leave him alone. Or compromise.
"You dunce." Weiss said falling in her bed.
"Well Yang said we didn't have to dance at the dance so I figured it wouldn't be that bad." Blake said to AJ.
"That's how she convinced you huh?" AJ asked Blake. He turned to Yang. "You could have told me that."
"Sorry." Yang responded sheepishly.
[Fufu]: ...And that was our conflict. And it could’ve been resolved so easily. But the author was too busy having Yang being the Shipper on Deck fangirl that there was no communication here. Therefore, this “conflict” feels cheap.
Next day, Thursday.
"I need you to pick a table cloth!" Weiss said slapping two table cloths on a table that Ruby was sitting at. They were all in the ballroom getting things set up for the dance.
"Aren't they the same?" Ruby asked after a moment, she never checked to see if they felt different, she just looked and saw that they looked the same.
[Fufu]: So we gathered. Man, ProAJ must work for the Department of Redundancy Department.
Weiss sighed. "I don't even know why I asked." She said simply and walked away.
AJ and Yang were each carrying a large speaker system for the music and set them down with a loud thud.
[Fufu]: ...So he has insane strength now?
[Kirby]: ???Maybe he copied Yang’s Semblance???
[Fufu]: But her’s is mostly used in battle, unless he copied it then asked her to smack him around a couple of times to build up that strength. ...I wouldn’t mind if that was the case actually.
"So, you picked out a dress yet?" Yang asked Ruby while AJ went and picked up the last speaker system.
[Kirby]: I have a headcanon that Weiss helped them all pick out dresses and even made sure they had one ready for Blake.
[Fufu]: Well, she would have connections~.
"I have a few idea's but I still don't like it." Ruby said.
"Oh come on! Wearing a dress isn't that bad!" Yang said. "You'll see, my dress will be turning heads on Sunday! Weiss I thought we agreed! NO DOILIES!" Yang yelled at Weiss who got in her face.
"If I don't get doilies, you don't get fog machines!" Weiss threatened.
"Your dance is gonna have fog machines?" Neptune asked as he and Sun walked in.
[Fufu]: Hey! Where the fuck did you two get to? We’ve had to endure AJ for god knows how long!
[Kirby]: See, they’re fine. So why have AJ give us the “or are they?” earlier?
"We were thinking about it." Weiss responded smiling at Neptune.
"That's pretty cool." Neptune said.
"You ladies all excited for dress up!" Sun asked.
"Pfft! Ya right!" Ruby said.
"Laugh all you want. I will be turning heads." Yang said smiling.
[Kirby]: The emphasis was actually on the “I” not on “will” in the show. Kind of a nitpick, but the latter sounds more like a threat then the former, like Yang will be snapping necks or something.
"What are you boys wearing?" Weiss asked.
[Fufu]: ProAJ, pleeeeeeeease, put more into this! Don’t just make it straight up boring scene transcribing! Please! They do things! Vocal inflections and body language and gestures! Just- a little bit?
"Not going!" AJ said in the background and Yang went back there to argue with him.
"Uh… this!" Sun stated to his abs revealing shirt like it was obvious.
Neptune got in front of him. "Ignore him, for he knows not what he says."
[Kirby]: Okay, I can kinda see why people think Neptune is the gay friend. Still don’t ship Sea Monkeys though.
[Fufu]: I just see it as him being a bit over dramatic and mock horrified cause of his “brutish friend”.
Sun got back in front of him. "Hey! I may have moved to Mistral, but I grew up in Vacuo. It's not exactly a shirt and tie kind of place." Sun stated.
"Ya, we've noticed." Weiss said annoyed.
[Kirby]: You know, I’ve never really thought about it, but I think I could get behind a Weiss/Sun ship.
[Fufu]: Well, she is a natural Tsundere.
"Hey, AJ!" Sun called out to AJ and Yang.
[Fufu]: Sun, I thought we talked about this! Don’t acknowledge the Stu, it just gives him more power!
"What's up with Blake!?" Sun asked noticing a fellow Faunus's lack of presence here.
"I'm not going!"
"Yes you are!"
"No I'm not!"
"Yes. You. Are!"
"NO. I'M. NOT!"
"GUYS!" Ruby yelled getting their attention.
[Fufu]: Why is this here?! It cuts right in the middle of another ongoing situation, it’s out of place and it’s just confusing!
"Where's Blake?" Sun asked again.
"She's getting her rest right now." AJ said. "I'm not going!" He whispered to Yang.
"Don't start this again with me." Yang whispered back and they both glared at each other for a minute.
"Oh would you two STOP ARGUING!" Weiss yelled.
"Gladly!" AJ said and went back to his room.
[Fufu]: And then he just...leaves. What is even the point of him being here?
"I wish I could tell her how I feel, without messing it all up." AJ heard Jaune say in JNPR's dorm as he got near and saw Pyrrha walk up to the door.
[Kirby]: Nope, nope, nope. Leave JNPR alone!
[Fufu]: Oh fuck no, I remember this from my skim ahead! Turn the fuck around AJ!
"Then do it!" She said. "Tell her exactly what you just said. No ridiculous schemes, no pick-up-lines. Just be yourself. Be honest."
"But-"
"Jaune!" Pyrrha interrupted. "You can't get it wrong if it's the truth."
[Kirby]: Okay, shoutout to Jen Brown, because the way she delivers that line breaks my heart.
"You're right! Thanks Pyrrha! Good talk Ren!" Jaune said and AJ saw him walk out of their dorm and go right past him smiling.
AJ walked up and opened the door.
[Fufu]: *sharply blows air out of her nose, annoyed* Well ladies and gentlepeople, behold; AJ telling Pyrrha to suck it up and go confess to Jaune...by telling her about himself and his twagic past.
"Pyrrha!" He said annoyed. Everyone in the dorm, except Pyrrha, looked up at him. "Don't be stupid! Don't make others feel better at the cost of yourself I did that when I was young! I told everyone I was fine when I hurt inside and now you're just letting him walk away!? I thought you were smarter than that." AJ said and walked back out of their dorm and closed the door,
[Kirby]: Translation; AJ: “Hey Pyrrha, FUCK YOU AND YOUR FEELINGS!”
[Fufu]: Dude, telling people you were fine was not making them feel better! Doing things for people and putting on smiles and overall hiding the situation while hurting inside is a better example of what you’re trying to say. And besides, what does this have to do with anything? How long did this go on for? Why did this happen to you in the first place? Eh? Eh?!
[Kirby]: Okay AJ, here’s the part you missed while you had your head shoved up your own ass; when someone loves someone else, they want to see that person be happy, even if that person loves someone else entirely. Pyrrha has a huge heart and cares immensely for Jaune, so she’ll do whatever it takes to make him happy, including letting him go. No matter how much it hurts her, Jaune’s happiness is worth it to her.
[Fufu]: Aka, the I Just Want My Beloved to Be Happy trope.
[Kirby]: Pyrrha needs a big damn hug.
he saw RWBY's dorm open and Blake looked at him. She looked a bit more rested then ([Kirby]: “than”) she was before.
"What happened?" Blake asked.
"Pyrrha told Jaune to go tell his true feelings to Weiss without doing it herself to Jaune." AJ explained.
"Oh. What did you say before that? About hiding your feelings for others?" Blake asked. AJ walked into their dorm.
[Fufu]: SUDDEN CHARACTER SHIT! BREAK OUT THE CROCODILE TEARS FOR AJ’S BACKSTORY!
"I used to feel terrible all the time at school, from second grade to eighth grade I hated school and pretty much everyone around me. But if anyone, rather they were my friend or not, asked me how I was doing I would smile and say I was fine. I didn't want attention and I didn't want to bother anyone with my problems. I pretty much pretended to be a quiet person, I didn't say anything funny at school unless I was alone with my friends, I just stayed quiet." AJ explained and Blake took his hand.
[Fufu]: This doesn’t make sense. Why was he like that? This doesn’t imply that he was in pain and that he was hurting inside, it just says that he was an asshole even as a kid. Do you know who else came to despise the world around them but put up a facade to fool the masses? Aoyama Masaya from Tokyo Mew Mew. He grew up to be very cynical, and he didn’t believe the smiles people wore around him. He put up the front of being the dedicated straight-A student to please his parents and the public. Ichigo, the protagonist, even describes his smile as sort of sad looking, and she wants to make it so that his smiles are kind and genuine, since she likes those smiles. In fact, Ichigo is the only person who’s made Masaya feel genuinely happy in his life. But I’d rather not ramble on about these two. Not when I have a sporking that I can do it in instead… *hint hint*
[Fufu]: The point? You’ve failed, author.
"Why? If they're your friends then they could help you." Blake said.
"I just didn't want them to worry. I didn't want them to help me, I just wanted to end the day and go home without people asking to help me. I hated the idea of the attention I would get." AJ said.
[Kirby]: I hate that I can relate to this.
[Fufu]: Same here unfortunately. Its beginning to sound more like he has social anxiety as opposed to being cynical about the world and people; being too nervous to ask for help at the risk of being a bother or a waste of the person’s time.
[Kirby]: I don't see how any of this supposed to be particularly tragic though, it happens, no biggie.
"What happened after eighth grade?" Blake asked hugging him with her other arm.
"I just got tired of it. I realized no one was going to change and that everyone was going to be a jerk anyway,
[Fufu]: No-one was acting like a jerk anyway!
so I just stopped pretending to be any different than I wanted to be. I was still quiet, because I really don't want attention. But I would say something if I thought it was funny. I would sit there in class thinking and listening to other conversations and if I thought I could get a laugh I would say what I thought. If I got a laugh I would just feel so much better for a moment. It really is just a part of me to want people to laugh, even if I don't know them, but I also am shy so I have to decide if it's worth the try. Then I made a friend and met his group of friends and suddenly there was a group of like, eight people that I didn't mind being around, oddly enough, it was one of those groups that had that one guy no one liked. I always thought that was dumb and people didn't really have someone like that in a group, but they did."
[Fufu]: ...Once again, I can relate, sort of. Struggling to fit it, and being too nervous to even try. But there’s still some fail here; you said you only had one good friend, and yet here you mention more. Unless you just consider them acquaintances, but that would be a dick move since you say here that you didn’t mind them. I’d consider that enough to call them friends as well. Also, that last section makes jack all amount of sense. Groups having that one guy no-one liked and your group had him? What? And what about him? You ain’t talking about him. Don’t just introduce something like that then skip on like nothing happened!
[Kirby]: Fun story about me, I was extremely bitter as a teenager and sometimes got into fights with my teachers because I thought most of the projects they gave out were pointless. The worst was when I told my literary teacher that doing a school newspaper was a waste of time, because our school was boring and no one reads newspapers anymore anyways. Dropped the class entirely the next week since I had signed up with the assumption that we’d be reading classics, but ended up with a list of crappy modern artsy novels. The mature part of me says that I should probably apologise to my old teachers, but I still have enough bitterness towards them that I ain’t gonna.
"You sound like you miss them." Blake noticed.
[Fufu]: Like fuck he does. Why would he care about his friends if he doesn’t give a shit about his parents- AND I WILL NEVER LET THAT GO!
"I do, kind of. I have you guys now so I don't mind. But yes, I did actually consider about four people in that group my friends. I will definitely always miss my best friend though, we played video games whenever we had the chance after school, and during school we would talk about what we did the day before in video games. I think I have to prefer it here though."
"Why?"
"Is that a rhetorical question? I have you! Nothing could possibly be better than being with you."
[Fufu]: Once again, this is scarily like Edward and Bella. Or fuck, just Twilight in general. You are nothing without your soulmate, according to that series, and you should put your love interest before your friends and family. It doesn’t help that Blake has regressed into a demure woman who does jack all unless her man is there with her, much like Bella. Legit, I can’t even recall a scene post-relationship where Blake did something of her own accord; everything is done with AJ now.
AJ said smiling. Blake realized they would be alone for a while and they started making out, that went on for what was probably a long time and they had gotten a bit too into it and fallen on Blake's bed when there was the iconic sound of a picture being taken. They both stopped and saw Yang with her Scroll out.
[Kirby]: Yang: “Dammit, I was sure this was set to video.”
"Don't you have enough of those?" AJ asked annoyed that Yang keeps taking pictures of them.
[Fufu]: That is just creepy! No! It is not amusing either ProAJ! You’ve got some weird mashup of sappy romance and creepy romance mushed into your mind!
"No, and this one is unique because of how long you guys went this time." Yang said teasingly and the couple blushed and glared at her. "Come on! Keep going!" Yang said without any subtlety.
[Kirby]: Yang: “I can sell this to furry- I mean faunus fetishists!”
[Fufu]: LA LA LA LA I’M NOT ENJOYING THIS, I’M NOT PAYING ATTENTION TO THIS SCENE OR THIS BLATANT FUCK-UP OF CHARACTERISATION.
[Kirby]: Meanwhile, I just made myself aware that faunus fetishizing is probably a thing in Remnant. Urgh.
"Give me the Scroll!" AJ demanded as he got up and walked towards her.
"I promise I won't send it to anyone!" Yang spat out hopefully.
"Why do you even keep those pictures!?" Blake asked.
"You have some weird fetish don't you?" AJ asked teasingly.
"NO! I just plan on sending them to you guys in a couple years!" Yang said angrily and blushed.
[Fufu]: WHY WOULD THEY WANT THEM?!
[Kirby]: The descriptions are so odd here. Why is Yang angry again?
"Then why are you blushing?" AJ mocked Yang enjoying the one time he had the tables turned on Yang.
AJ eventually was forced out by a blushing and irate Yang and he laughed the whole time.
"So, were you two seriously about to-" Yang asked curiously.
"No. Yang! I'll have you know we agreed we would never do anything like that while we are in school!" Blake interrupted.
[Fufu]: Because you’re both good little kitties and you’ll wait till you're married!
"That doesn't stop some people though." Yang said suggestively.
[Kirby]: Yang: “You should have seen what Jaune and Pyrrha were up to last night! I’ve never seen a man bend like that!”
Blake blushed and went to the library with AJ, avoiding any further talk with the blond. Yang sighed when she left. "Oh well, at least their shipping worked out, wonder how Nora is doing with the Arkos ship?"
"Did someone say shipping?!" Ozpin asked excitedly. He was crouched in the window…
[Kirby]: ...Window Ozpin watches you ship.
"AH!" Yang screamed. She saw no one in the window…
[Fufu]: ...not touching it. You guys can see it. It’s awful. *puts head in hands* Just a little longer, then it’s one last chapter.
At the end of the next day AJ was on the roof looking out at Beacon and the lights everywhere. He heard the door opened ([Kirby]: “open”) and figured it was gonna be Blake again but saw it was Yang instead.
"Oh, hey Yang." AJ said hiding all sense of disappointment in his voice.
"Why don't you want to go to the dance?" Yang got straight the point.
"Why do you want me to go so bad?" AJ asked.
"Because it's so weird seeing how well you get along! You guys make out when no one is looking, you hold hands all the time, you cuddle whenever you guys sit together in lunch. I don't get how that happens when you guys haven't gone on a single date yet!" Yang yelled suddenly.
[Fufu]: Back the fuck off and let them handle their relationship in their own way! They do not need a backseat driver for this relationship! Couples can do whatever the fuck they want that makes them happy and that they enjoy doing together!
[Fufu]: And all this talk of couples and being happy and doing their relationship their own way just reminds me that a couple of people I watch on youtube - individually, they’ve always kept their relationship private, plus they never really did many videos together in the first place - who have been in a relationship for years now have broken up recently, and now I’m sort of upset, even though it was an amicable split and they’re both still friends.
"What?… You want us to go to the dance because it's weird that we are such a couple without ever going on a date?… What kind of reason is that!?" AJ asked.
"I just need a reason for how you get along so well!" Yang pleaded.
[Fufu]: Because - and I’m cutting the author and this damn relationship a big break here - they like each other and like to do things their own way!
"Fine! You want a reason!? It's called true love!
[Kirby]: *snidely* Oh AJ, if only there was someone out there who loved you.
We don't need to go on any stupid date. Just being around each other strengthens our bond, and we've been a couple for almost two months now right? Give or take. You could say it's a date whenever we are around each other." AJ explained.
[Fufu]: Again, cutting the author some slack, though only because he’s turned Yang into some weird ass stalker fangirl who’s absorbed in her ship; that is a fair point.
"But that sounds so weird! Who is gonna believe that!?" Yang asked.
"Just leave us alone! WHY are you trying so hard to get us to go to a damn dance!?" AJ asked again.
"You know what? I'm gonna go get Blake to go the dance and then she'll convince you! She isn't nearly as stubborn as you!" Yang said turning to walk away.
[Kirby]: So what this amounts to is the author finding a way to get AJ to the dance without having to make him look lame by agreeing to go.
[Fufu]: Cause he ain’t a real man if he decides to go of his own free will.
"AAAGGGH!" AJ yelled in annoyance that Yang wouldn't just leave them alone.
Yang was caught off guard by this and turned around to see AJ jump onto the railing at the edge of the roof and jumped off, created his Aura bow, and pointed it towards the Emerald Forest and disappeared.
AJ found he was suddenly over Beacon Cliffs and used his bow again to appear in the forest. He started heading towards the cave that Deathstalker used to be in, determined to use it for shelter. Pyrrha and Jaune had told them about their encounter with it. A Beowolf pack found AJ on the way attracted to his anger.
"Oh you guys wanna fight!? Have you seen what I did to those three packs before you!? The first one? The third one? The second one maybe!?" AJ asked and the Beowolf's around him visually flinched. "Ya! That's what I thought! We don't talk about what happened to the second one…" He said quietly before attacking the pack.
[Fufu]: OKAY THEN! HE BUILDS UP A TEMPER CAUSE YANG WON’T SHUT UP ABOUT GETTING HIM TO THE DANCE, WHICH IS JUST RUDE OF HER IN THE FIRST PLACE CAUSE IF HE DOESN’T WANT TO GO THEN LEAVE HIM THE FUCK ALONE, BUT HE THEN TAKES HIS ANGER OUT ON A BUNCH OF GRIMM WHO WERE PROBABLY JUST CASUALLY SPENDING THE NIGHT IN THAT CAVE. I’M AWARE THAT GRIMM ARE MURDEROUS CREATURES THAT WISH TO KILL HUMANITY BUT GOOD GOD, HE HUNTED THEM DOWN AND IS GONNA KILL THEM TO GET HIS ANGER OUT. GRIMM OR NOT, THAT IS JUST SICK.
The next day Ozpin was looking out the window of his office when Glynda approached him.
"Sir, I got a report from the Grimm scanners in the Emerald Forest. The amount of Grimm had dropped by hundreds. Do you have any idea what's going on? Professor?" Glynda asked.
"AJ is just venting." Ozpin responded simply.
"You call this venting?" Glynda asked.
"He's probably the best exterminator I have ever seen." Ozpin said to himself.
[Fufu]: AND THEY JUST CASUALLY CONDONE THIS. THEY ALLOW THIS TO HAPPEN, AND THEY DON’T THINK IT’S STRANGE THAT HE’S USING UNPROVOKED GRIMM AS PUNCHING BAGS CAUSE HE’S A LITTLE STRESSED OUT?!
[Kirby]: And we’re back to the psychopath argument. If he’s this emotionally unstable, then he shouldn’t be around other students and needs professional help.
AJ was had walked into another clearing, he had calmed down last night but figured he should kill as many Grimm as he could find while he was here.
[Fufu]: *throws hands up in air* Cause why the fuck not?! Its practically a sport by this point!!
He heard something leap at him from behind and he jumped into the air while swinging Nipzona below him.
[Fufu]: I’m pretty certain that this is the first mention of that bullshit weapon name since he first thought it up in chapter 8. Unless I missed it in all the clunky sentences and text blocks.
The Beowolf continued forward and slumped down headless. He suddenly felt like he was being hunted, he had been hunted by that Beowolf but hadn't felt this, so whatever was after him must be a confident and skilled hunter. "I FOUND HIIIM!" A voice shouted and AJ jumped over whatever lunged at him from behind. Or maybe Huntress…
He looked around and saw Ruby was the one that had attacked, Weiss came out as well, and then he heard Yang come out finally before charging him. He dodged her attempts at grabbing him before kicking her away. Weiss tried to freeze him in ice and he dodged before attacking and knocking her into the bushes.
[Kirby]: KILL HIM! DO IT NOW! SPARE US ANYMORE OF THIS PLEASE!
[Fufu]: MURDER HIM! *notices the sudden silence* It is 3 in the damn morning for me as of writing this and I am done with this fic and the OC. I would gladly help the girls hide the body.
[Kirby]: Hey dearie, you know I’m always down for a little character death. I’d prefer to make him suffer though and I don’t think the girls would be down for that. Let’s take him to the shed out back, got all kinds of fun stuff in there.
[Fufu]: Well ain’t you a sweet talker~.
"Back off." AJ warned as the sisters prepared to attack.
Ruby charged behind him and he jumped towards Yang to get away from Ruby. Yang began swinging again and he jumped and leaned out of every strike, even jumping seemingly randomly at one point, he actually had seen Ruby coming without even looking at her and easily dodged her swing trying to trip him.
He landed and let out his Aura as Weiss joined the fight. Yang stayed close and kept trying to grab him, Weiss and Ruby would attack randomly but AJ would easily dodge with his Aura flowing out since that boosted him in every way. They tried attacking at the same time but despite their coordination AJ would divert their attacks into each other.
[Fufu]: Cause he can fucking do that! You didn’t know he could do that? Well of course he can, don’t be silly! He could always do that!
He dodged a lunge from Weiss and threw her into Ruby as she was about to attack. Yang got fed up with this and tried to actually punch him. AJ continued dodging and eventually kicked her away and was about to start running when he felt something wrap around him. He looked down and saw the familiar black wrappings that Blake usually has on her arms.
[Fufu]: ...Blake doesn’t really use them as ropes, does she?
[Kirby]: The one she has attached to her gun/sword, ya. The other one we haven’t seen her use yet. I just assumed it was a spare.
[Fufu]: For the symmetry.
"You too!?" AJ asked the bushes behind him over his shoulder. Blake stepped out with a light smile.
"Yang managed to convince me." Blake said.
AJ sighed in resignation. Before suddenly twisting his body and throwing Blake past him into the others.
[Kirby]: All three of them, at the same time.
He turned and ran into the forest while they got up.
"Oh come on!" Yang complained.
AJ toyed with them, letting them see him at times but always staying just out of range, he could have gone faster but decided to play this game instead.
[Fufu]: Nevermind that Ruby could easily catch you with her Semblance and the only thing that would go against her would be the environment and whether or not she would have good enough control.
[Kirby]: Or Weiss with her speed glyph could either catch him herself, or help a teammate do so.
[Fufu]: Or Blake and Yang could work together and do some sort of complex tactic that would knock down the trees and slow him down enough that he’d have to maneuver around them, meaning the team could catch up quicker.
[Kirby]: Or- You get the idea.
[Fufu]: In short guys, the girls could easily catch him. There is no reason as to why AJ should be uncatchable. This is an insult to the girls’ individual capabilities and their teamworking skills.
He decided after a long chase to head back to Beacon and the girls would look around for awhile before giving up and heading back to their dorm.
[Kirby]: Look at what a wonderful teammate AJ is; leaving his team in a forest filled with monsters. Truly he is the pinnacle of caring and responsibility.
[Fufu]: *removes glasses so she can’t* Sorry, screen’s too blurry. And if I can’t read it, I ain’t acknowledging it.
When they got back, they were all breathing heavily and exhausted, then they looked up and saw AJ smugly smiling at them breathing heavily as well but not nearly as much.
[Fufu]: *tosses her glasses at the computer screen* I can sense his smug fucking smirks even without my glasses on! …*begrudgingly puts them back on ‘cause she sort of needs them*
"Damn, that was a good run!" He said smiling.
[Kirby]: In a forest. Filled with monsters.
[Fufu]: Well, he did cut down the population of Grimm thanks to his “UM NOT GOIN TO TEH PARTEE” hissy fit.
[Kirby]: Still, it’s this kinda of horsing around that gets people killed.
[Fufu]: Unfortunately not AJ.
Yang suddenly found some energy and tried to punch him, Blake reached him first and got between her and AJ.
"What the hell is wrong with you?" Yang asked AJ.
"I realized when you convinced Blake that I was going to end up going to the stupid dance so I decided to have you guys chase me everywhere as punishment." AJ said smiling.
[Fufu]: That...was just a game to him. And he did it as punishment to the girls. Nevermind that most of the team do have the endurance to run for as long as they have here - I think Weiss would be the only one who would struggle after a long period of time, and maaaaaaybe Blake - that is still a twisted kind of punishment. What if they’d passed out from exhaustion? Need we once again point out that the place is teeming with Grimm?
[Kirby]: Why do the girls even deserve punishment?

[Fufu]: ...And that was our conflict. And it could’ve been resolved so easily. But the author was too busy having Yang being the Shipper on Deck fangirl that there was no communication here. Therefore, this “conflict” feels cheap.
