Review: Code Geass

I'm back on LJ. Whee! But not to post anything spectacular or anything. (Although I did look at some posts and barf they were totes bad.) I'm just going to review animes and mangas and movies and TV shows and Asian dramas that I read/watch just so I don't forget them because I know I have a habit of never writing down what series I watch and such.

I doubt anybody will read this, which is perfectly fine by me.

And so it begins. With Code Geass!

So, I came onto the watching-Code-Geass train pretty late. A lot of the people I knew in real life had already watched it because it was airing on Cartoon Network and I just viewed it as one of the 'big animes that I should have watched by now but didn't'. (Big long 'quote' for that, huh?)

But, I don't know what came over me, but one day in the 6th grade, I decided to watch it. And I watched it in about a day or two. Most likely two, because there is a season 2 for Code Geass. And I remember when I finished watching it I just basically rewatched it again.

And I became obsessed. I lived and breathed Code Geass. I listened to the soundtrack, watched a bunch of clips from the show on Youtube even months after I finished the series. There was just something amazing about it, something that I really liked about it. It was my first Mecha series and I didn't know what to expect from it. But it was a beautiful mecha series that was also set in the future and dystopian (kind-of) and I just really loved Lelouch Lamperouge (or vi Britannia), the main character.

This was one of those series where I honestly couldn't predict what was happening or I didn't go to Wikipedia and read the episode blurbs beforehand or the summary of the series. (It's a habit. Kind of weird, but I still do it.)

It was just one of the series I liked very much and there was a lot to like from it. Zero, C.C, the ending, both seasons, Nunnally, some jaw-drop scenes, the OST, it was just perfect. I loved the animation and I just loved it a lot.

It's probably my #1 favorite anime of all time. Damn you mecha revenge prince with powers anime.
