Autumn has arrived with a flourish; or as my roommate said "fall has fallen...with a thud!". Yesterday was gorgeous and sunny; we were drinking iced drinkings and laying out under trees to get some shade. Today I woke up, and it was still dark outside, not really because the sun wasn't out, but for the first time, it was completely overcast. And there was a definate chill in the air. And if you paid attention to your surroundings as you walked around the campus, you'd realize that many of the trees were completely missing their leaves. I was really hoping to be able to lay out in the grass and finish Beowulf today, but it was a bit too chilly for that. By the time we got done with our last rehearsal and dinner (around 6), it was pouring. Of course, this is the first time in a week that I haven't had my umbrella in my purse!
My favorite season is finally here! This means it's time to pull out my wonderful long sleeve shirts and some apple cider. Sadly, this year I will have to experience autumn without a fireplace to curl up in front of or a cat to snuggle up with at night to keep warm. I guess this means I have to find me a girlfriend lol Though, really, nothing could ever trully replace a cat and a fireplace :P I'm also slightly worried that this sudden change in weather will add a cold to my everlasting sinus infection, which would not be pleasant.

On a completely different note (written here to save you, my beloved reader, some space on your friend page), I discovered an amazing new band last night, thanks to the joys of pandora.com! Epica, a gothic opera band from the Netherlands, but most importantly Simone Simons, their gorgeous (and I do mean that in every way!) singer. I've become increasingly drawn to this kind of music over the past year, I'm incredibly fascinated by it; perhaps because it combines something I've known all my life with something new and mysterious to me? What ever the reason, I adore it, and I know I want to make it part of my life, somehow. I would love to write this kind of music, and I would love to sing it. My first step, perhaps, being that a few of the cellists - after hearing that I was interested in writing music for studio - have asked if I could write them some cello rock. Anyone want to start a gothic band?
