Agatha All Along 1x04 If I can't Reach You, Let My Song Teach You
- Nice of the show to put that scene in the previously about which I had thoughts, but upon second viewing I couldn't remember. So here's the 1x03 addendum: Alice saw smoke come out from under a door and then saw her mom, which had me very confused, because I assumed it would show her mom's death and as far as we knew that was on the Witches Road.
- And now there's more confusion, because the episode titles are always lines from the Ballad, but these we hadn't heard.
- "I didn't think you had it in you." Agatha says and, when he asks, winks at Teen. Did she mean him? Does she think the potion actually saved Sharon, but then Teen killed her for some reason? Is that wishful thinking, hoping he's Nicky and taking somewhat after her??
- Why must this episode be so confusing!? Alice just flat out says that her mom died not on the Road, but on the road, as in "tour", in a hotel fire. But if Lorna was famous, how were the circumstances of her death not publicly known?
- I'm glad we're not quickly moving on from Sharon's death (also I'm hoping "if one be gone, we carry one, spirit as our guide" to be literal), although the others had been a bit annoyed by the presence of the non-witch.
- Wow, I can't believe they're throwing blame around for Sharon's death, but none of it is directed at Agatha.
- Very irresponsible of magic to have it be possible to summon someone to the Road. I hope it at least asks for the summoned person's consent, but I very much doubt it.
- I like that the unfolding way in which Rio appears makes it look less stupid when Wanda appeared that way in MoM. Now it's a thing. Not that I have any ill feelings towards that movie, ahem.
- OMG, that huge decorative spider on Rio's lapel XD. And now she's stroking it (or dusting off)! And tucking it into her jacket.
- Loving the long hair on Teen. Reminds me of 2 of his relatives.
- Lilia's outbursts of divinations would be more fun if they weren't so vague. I can't speculate with that little information!
- "Magic, as it does, took the path of least resistance, ferried the closest, most appropriate candidate down." And here we have the part that got me super excited, because it explains not only how it was Rio who was summoned, but apparently also confirms my theory of how we ended up with an actual Quicksilver playing Pietro in the Hex.
- "Or up." Rio adds and later says that she wants the other witches' bodies. Oh, does she work down there, is she a reaper? Feels very fitting for an earth witch, the element in which dead bodies are put.
- Teen's "Got attacked by the curse." made me paranoid for a moment, because I've seen theories questioning his motives, and why would he point that out? Did he pretend to get attacked? But then I forgot all about it when he said "Does that mean I'm part of the coven?" and I was all awwww!
- Seemed like a leap in logic for Agatha deduce that Lorna's Ballad is a protection spell, but then it turned out that Agatha knew something I didn't. Those lyrics are a pretty important piece of information.
- Phew, good thing everyone can spontaneously play that song so well! I guess magic helped bridge the gap between knowing how the song sounds and what the notes are/how the intruments are played.
- Seriously, the divergent lyrics. Right in the feels. This story is so good, I don't have words.
- Huh, the first time I watched this episode, I wondered why Teen was looking down and I was even a bit paranoid again. Now I see the close-up of the glass piece and wonder how I could have missed that. Maybe too distracted by the new lyrics and/or Alice & Lornas's great story.
- Jen managed to heal Teen. Does that mean she already got her prize or that all that was missing was something like confidence? She says she didn't know how that non-magical guy had bound her, so maybe it was the trauma that had done it?
- Love that the coven is warming up to each other around the fire.
- Wait, the leaves are purple now! Agatha's trial is next already!? I had expected that to be the last one.
- Teen asks Agatha if she was the one who had put the sigil on him and says that the caster themselves wouldn't know. Iiiinteresting. And it's coming back to me that this sigil was called clumsy or something to that effect. OMG, Teen did it, didn't he?
- *sigh* How Agatha's voice softens when she's talking to recovering Teen!
- "You don't have to know a person's name to know who they are." I mean, depends entirely on the meaning of "who they are". Character-wise, sure. But identity-wise I will disagree with Agatha forever.
- Aw dammit, just after that sweet moment between them, Teen asks what really happened to Nicky, and she gets all cold again.
- Oh shit, Rio reaped Nicky?!
- Another sweet moment, this time between Agatha and Rio - only to have that ruined as well, ugh. That boy isn't Agatha's. Good news for me, but ouch!
- What a great episode!

Agatha All Along 1x05 Darkest Hour, Wake Thy Power
- Has the episode title always had one part appear and then the rest or is that just to make this ominous title even more so?
- Oopsy, through the green-witch "portal" the Salem Seven come. Seems like something a portal for such a specific summons shouldn't do, not to mention that that the Witches' Road is such an exclusive place. So I'm hoping this is more because of the power of the Salem Seven. Or maybe Rio - since that portal was for her - helped.
- If the Nazgul weren't on the inspiration board for the Salem Seven, I'd be shocked.
- Oh, I wondered how time works on the Road. If the witches wouldn't need to sleep, that maybe time is dilated on the road and their body clocks would still be on real time. But no, they're sleeping, which makes me think that the reason Agatha wasn't there must be that she needed to pee. If you have the need for one essential rl thing, the others will be there too. I sure hope there's enough food in those trial houses.
- Congrats to Teen being attacked by one of the Salem Seven - so nice to be considered part of the coven! :P
- Teen, I love you, but your pronunciation of Hexenbesen is terrible.
- I love it when Lilia goes on one of her rants.
- Aw, I like how, despite the brooms being out of fashion, the witches still know how to make them. Impractical though that you can't make one by yourself.
- The Road turning upside down to force the witches back to the ground is cool! And it got this glorious witch cackle out of Rio.
- Oh, there's actually a house. I was wondering if the Salem Seven were Agatha's trial.
- Aw yeah, 80s PJ party! Mmm, so much crochet everywhere. And do I detect some Stranger Thingsy synth?
- "Whose trial is this?" Didn't you notice the color of the leaves and stuff? ...Nah, okay, I don't blame you, Teen, you had a lot going on.
- "And who better to commune with the dead than someone who's put so many in the grave?" Oh, right! What if Agatha & Rio's relationship came about by Agatha happening to be helpful for Rio's job?
- Why do people say that "a" in "ouija" like that?
- *gasp* Not to be tragically abnormal about a certain character, but as we see Teen put the ouija board on the table, there’s a yellow Walkman visible in the background. Peter Maximoff truthers gonna truth!
- Pfft, even Lilia wears a Casio.
- The game is for ages 3 and up. I'm guessing this is a dig at the games that say "[low number]-99".
- I gave up trying to put the letters together when there were 4 consonants in a row, so I can't tell you if I would have read it as Mr. Shart or Mrs. Hart. So we all agree that Mr. Shart must be a relative of Ralph Bohner, right?
- I'm disappointed Agatha just put on a show to kill time (aw, look at how well Rio knows her), because obviously I'm waiting to see Sharon again.
- Wait, now that Agatha is serious about the ouija board, she says the "maiden, mother, crone". The first time she said it in the wrong order, so that might have kept the game from actually starting.
- Aw, look at Rio laughing about the board saying "death". She's just having the time of her life on the Road.
- "Lilia is being weird again." Hey, be nice, Teen! And what's so weird about it? She didn't even like when Agatha faked the spirit, so of course when it's real it becomes scarier.
- Only when Jen puts away her retainer, I noticed that she had one. Was it ever even visible? I only remember that she did something at her teeth, after she entered the house.
- "Familiars don't get a vote." Yeah, speaking of those, how important are they to the Road? You know, since they're mentioned in the Ballad and those lyrics function as instructions. But I guess it means only if you have one, you should take it with you. ...Wait, did I just finally get it? I guess the point was to let the other witches be okay with Teen's presence. Okay cool, better late then never.
- Alice, holding up the lamp, gets to show off her abs.
- Possessed Agatha lifts Jen by the throat and we get a glimpse of the latter's bunny slippers. Those deserved a moment more of attention, I think. And am I imagining it or do they glow in the dark?
- Oh so that's what ghosts look like here. Nice.
- "Stop embarrassing me in front of my friends, mom."
- I love that we're finally clearing up Agatha's flashback from WandaVision! But wow, I didn't think it would be so depressing as her own mom stating that Agatha was born evil.
- Hey, we're finally seeing the wispy type of magic being used in this show about witches. Protection witch to the rescue, woo!
- Argh, what does Lilia say with those tarot-card names?!
- Oh shit, Agatha is sucking in Alice's power. But you're not killing Alice, are you?!
- Teen reading from the ouija board what feels like the longest name ever. But hiiii, Nicky!
- It looked like Agatha couldn't really stop, that power just is, so I guess that's why Evanora thought she was evil since birth. She didn't learn it, it has always been there. Although... when would someone have first blasted her? As a teenager would make most sense to me, but maybe Agatha was already super annoying as a little kid and so got blasted early. I always thought the way she acted in her flashback was suspicious, but thinking about it now makes it make sense. If she had to deal with people (her own mom even) judging her for a power she can't even control, of course she'd be super resentful by the age of 18. She does something when the magic flow changes, but it's not intended to kill or absorb magic. It's just a defense mechanism and once it gets going, it can't be turn it off. Huh, Wanda and Agatha have some things in common.
- No! You didn't just really, actually kill off Alice for real?! She only just passed her trial, you can't do that! I mean, I know there's the habit of showing more of a character right before they're killed off, but come on! She passed her trial, she just made her life better - it would be so unfair to kill her now.
- The orange in Agatha's hand looks so weird. Is she "quoting" it or why does the magic have that color still? Is it supposed to tell us that it's not enough yet to count as her own power? Oh, then it goes up in smoke. I guess it wasn't Agatha, the magic did that itself. OMFG, then Alice's death wasn't even good for anything.
- And now we follow the yellow-leaved Road, so it's Lilia's trial next.
- Huh, Agatha's is the first failed trial. I wonder if the coven's overall success counts at the end or if Agatha has no chance of getting what she came for - from the Road at least. Although I'm super in denial about Alice, so Agatha probably hasn't fail yet.
- "Death comes for us all." Aw, poor resigned Lilia. But I'm sure the rest (that includes her) is gonna be fine.
- "So that's what it means to be a witch? Killing people to serve your own agenda? No. Not for me." Agatha gives a little laugh and ooh, the music gets all threatening as Teen stares her down. I'm all aflutter.
- "Are you sure?" What, does she think it's Billy and his agenda is revenge? But wouldn't it have been easier to kill Agatha without powers instead of risking her getting them back at the end of the Road? And wouldn't the Road be too dangerous for himself and the other witches for this scheme? And if he wanted something from the Road, he could just have found himself a coven without Agatha. I mean, yeah that's totally Billy and he has reasons to be angry, but this revenge plan doesn't make sense to me. Or is she referring to Sharon again? Nah, you still can't tell me did that, he's not the murderous kind. Oh, maybe his plan was Agatha's trial?! To have her face her trauma again. Yeah, that makes more sense.
- "You're so much like your mother." OMG, she definitly knows. And the way she removes her fingers from under his chin has such shades of "fuck you" in ASL and the British gesture. But how did Agatha mean what she said? That Teen is being judgmental like Wanda?
- The soundtrack gives us Wanda notes! *flail*
- Ha, he does have magic! And he magics so much like his mom! Btw, suck it, "Wanda's kids weren't real" people! I do love me some vindication.
- WHAT?! Why would he try to kill Agatha?! And why is she so surprised about it? If not that, then what was the "Are you sure?" about? And why put Lilia and Jen in the sludge too? WHAT IS HAPPENING?!
- Holy shit, the crown! The way he's looking all serious and wearing that crown! Our little boy is all grown up! I have that feeling in my stomach like on a rollercoaster going down. Wheeee!
- THAT CREDITS SONG! With the lyrics and the menacing bass. Oh myyyy. My blog has come full circle: It used to be about Sherlock, specifically Jim Moriarty. He’s the one who said “you should see me in a crown”, which inspired the song. Sherlocks’s quality declined and I left Tumblr. When I came back it was for WandaVision/Peter Maximoff. WV is the reason I watch Agatha All Along. And now here we have that song being played for Billy. Such perfection.
- Soooo, when shit goes wrong more than usual, you just know it's gotta be a hallucination or whatever. Especially when they even appear to kill the main character and it's not even the finale yet. But the problem with declaring that everything you watched didn't actually happen is that it's so unsatisfying, because you undo the good things too. With horror I remember that end-of-the-world episode of the X-Files giving us the suspense and having us watch Scully the scientist actually doing science only to then take it away again. Anyway! So there's a chance they'll get out of it without cheating: Rio can pull the witches out before they suffocate, yay! But this would also be unsatisfying, because Alice would still be dead! And if I know one thing about the writing of WV & AAA it's that it's respectful of its women. So hallucination it is! ...Wait, it really super extra should be a hallucination because there's not even anything good to be lost if they made this all unhappen. I mean, the revelation was supercool, but I think story-wise it wouldn't hurt to take it back - it was more about us seeing it than about the situation for the characters. Yeah, everything's gonna be fine.

Agatha All Along 1x06 Familiar By Thy Side
Oh, look who's confirmed to be Jewish. Now everybody who's been prematurely ranting can chill. Yay!
It's a magick mitzvah even. Is that an actual thing or are they witchy Jews.
A golden lion embroidered on that dark fabric - I'd love to be normal, but how can I when it reminds me of the silver tigers on the jacket we first saw Peter in?!
WTF, Billy's dad looks like a bearded version of Director Hayward to me. Those eyes are way too similar.
Billy's met Lilia before?! Okay, so he's not Billy M. yet and the way Lilia is talking makes it seem there'll be no merging of the Billys, the original B. Kaplan will actually die. How depressing.
I can't believe the sigil came from Lilia! And why?!
Whoa, the Hex exists already. The original Billy K. only just got that prediction from Lilia and has so little time left. There wasn't much "now" to enjoy anymore. D:
Whoa, Wanda had even broadcast on radio! AFAIR I never thought about that other people might pick up that signal! There must be some out there still watching with antenna or dish, who have actually seen Wanda's show.
Oh, his parents actually call him William. Well, that's a nice way to differentiate the characters without involving last names.
Alice!
If nothing is physically wrong with Billy, does that mean he has healing powers?
Poor freshly reincarnated Billy having a really bad and confusing time. And his new parents as well. :o(
Billy and Eddie making out - I'm slightly scared of going into that AAA tag now, there'll be so many disappointed Agatha/Rio shippers who thought it would be their ship doing the smooching.
"Nothing in my life has felt normal until I met you." Awwwww.
Woah, I'm starting to think there was actually something to those theories about ep 5 being Billy's trial. In his room are the Eastview pennant and the chain of tetraeder-covered lights we saw in the trial house.
A "trans lives matter" poster in Billy's room. Of course he's a good boy.
Ooh, Billy did some research. "Strange occurences persist to haunt Westview residents" Interesting, tell me more!
Avengers training exercise gone wrong. Uh huh.
I didn't watch the mid-season trailer, but saw a cap on Twitter. The quality wasn't great (which kept me from brightening it in Photoshop, as there was nothing more to see), but I did see some hair sticking out from under the hat. Hey, you know who has somewhat long hair? And that outfit is so unlike Peter, that it's gotta be his disguise. Today I saw a post on my Twitter timeline linking to an article about Mr. Bucket Hat's identity and couldn't resist. I held the mouse over the link to read the URL and had my confirmation. So I changed my plans and instead of doing preparations for stuff, I watched the episode.
Was super excited when I saw that the episode link on D+ is a cap of Billy & boyf in an underground garage. Which, you know, is the place where one would meet someone who's hiding their identity. And despite seeing this announced in that cap, I can't believe it's Billy meeting Peter. I mean, they're multiverse family, they've met before, yet neither knows this, ARGH!
What was Mr. Bucket Hat throwing and then putting in his pocket? My first thought is something with a sigil on it, but then he wouldn't remember Westview.
Bohnerrific69. Sorry, I LOLed way too loudly. But should you use that name when you're hiding from the authorities and maybe others?!
IS THAT WHAT THE BEARD WAS FOR?!?!
"Randall" isn't any better, Randy! Somebody give this man some help coming up with aliases!
"Bub"? Hmmmmm… boy, do I wonder where Horny Stiffy picked up that word. What a mystery, we shall never know.
OMFG, Peter, what did they do to you?! The Hex was such a bad time for him that he's still having a bad time 3 years later. My poor baby. I wonder if all the protection stuff he has all over actually does something. But if not, at least it should ease his mind somewhat.
I wonder if there's anything interesting on his shirt. Anyone know what it says?
Agatha stole your house? Baby, that belonged to WitSec. Maybe he really does have a sigil, but it only works on his actual identity, not the Hex one. I mean, it looks like he's been to a witch, so maybe while there he asked to forget who he is so he wouldn't miss his old life in his own universe. Does he even know he's run away from witness protection? If not, that would explain the unwise choice of screenname.
"I was a terrible influence on Wanda and Vision's kids." No, no, you were the best uncle! That's really not something to feel guilty about.
Agatha had Peter poison Sparky! FFS, Agatha! "Woof" - "Hey!" I second Peter's comment.
Hearing Peter say speedster gave me heart tickles.
He has a one-man show! So 1. He really seems to think the identity Monica uncovered is his real one, 2. He's not hiding, WTF?! No way WitSec didn't find him. Maybe they leave him alone because he's living under an alias and his show isn't popular enough to attract attention?
Poor Billy thinking Wanda and Vision are dead. But as long as he can't remember them, it shouldn't be that bad.
Oh, so Agatha caused disasters in the non-magical world too. And she's Jolene?!
"Fun facts: Murdered her entire coven." Fun indeed!
Billy really is on the Road for Tommy! Oh, right, as a survivor of the Witches' Road, Agatha would be very useful. I had forgotten about that.
Wait, has Agatha always been wearing that Bohner family reunion shirt ("pitch a tent" XD) when she was at home with Rio?! Dammit, I feel a mighty need for that shirt now. They better give us that merch. Never mind,
thanks, xmcu-fietro!
Okay, but that shirt means that the name wasn't a creation of the Hex, holy shit! Are you telling me WitSec seriously gave him that name? Peter must have managed to piss them off beforehand.
Joe Locke was so close to losing it in that "poking the bear" scene. But since he kept it together, they could use that take. Good for us, hee.
The actors seemed to have fun. I guess that excessive pen clicking was also improvised.
"I do not wanna go back in the closet." XD
So the sigil was still working when Billy suspected his real identity, as well as when he said it the first time to Agatha. So what would finally break it?
Agatha manages to free herself from the mud. And what about Lilia and Jen?
Billy with the hoodie of shame. He's really is so much like his mom.
"It's nice to see you again, Billy." The soft way she says it sounds like she means it. Did she always like the Minimoffs or did she just decide to adopt him because she had suspected him to be Nicky?
Huh, the sigil is broken, but I don't understand how. Sure, Billy just crushed it the thing it was on, but that won't have done it. Ugh, I have no patience, dig up Lilia and make her answer my question!
Just after the topic of body count, Agatha asks where Billy got his new body. Whoa, what if he thinks he killed William? I mean, maybe she does, but I hope he doesn't.
"all that power you can't control without throwing a temper tantrum." Your multiverse grandpa would be so proud!
"She chose a town full of strangers over her own flesh and wires." I mean, she kinda had to take down the Hex, there wasn't much choice, Agatha. Not to mention that witch that nagged her into it.
Tommy is out there, Billy can sense him! *mewl*
"Gosh, you really are a Maximoff. Otherwise none of this would be nearly as dramatic." XD But this is why we love them!
The pathetic way I was waiting for Evan Peters (huh, look at #6 being the Peter episode again) to show up in the credits in hopes of getting hints about the character from the background image. It's just the Westview map with the Hex.

Agatha All Along 1x07 Death's Hand in Mine
Hello again. We are at the beginning of my 2nd watching of this episode, so I can polish my review. Except I haven't even finished watching it the first time: I had the episode paused at the very beginning of the credits, because of that song. Okay, let's get through this...
- We finally see Lilia again - only to cut away from her without explanation. Argh, what is patience?! What, was she resurrected just for her trial? Give me answers!
- "I have a mom." Awwww <3. Good thing Billy can't remember his previous life or he might not have accepted the Kaplans, even after 3 years.
- "Is Wanda Maximoff really dead?" - "Yes. ... No. Maybe." Pfft, it's like when Peter asked Raven if Magneto is really a bad guy XD. Wait a minute! There's more than just the structure in common here! It's a Maximoff asking their reference person (Is there a film/TV term for a character who's another character's main contact point?) - who's a baddie but not really - about one of their birth parents.
- "Did you see a body?" Look at him using his brain! I like it when characters do that.
- "Hey, you want straight answers, ask a straight lady." LOLs were had. I love her, your honor.
- I'm loving all the banter, but then the mood takes a turn. Ouchie. And I wonder if Agatha's definition of success will change. After all, what's the point of living if you have nothing to live for?
- Agatha in disbelief over Billy not believing her, but she doesn't look crushed. Maybe someone who sees through her facade is exactly what she needs.
- Daaamn, horns look good on Billy (very nice outfit & make up, 11/10). Which is obviously a reference to his multiverse uncle, our beloved Mr. Horny Stiffy.
- Lilia & Jen are alive! \o/
- Ooh, here we have Lilia's predictions in order. It's so satisfying when stories give you enough information to put the pieces together and then confirm that you did it right.
- We're in an earth tunnel with not much happening and yet the story is so good! Exposition, feelings, bonding!
- "We're not cool, Teenager." - "Damn, using his full name." XD
- Loving the Dory reference. Loving even more that Jen is defending Lilia.
- "I was doing a reading for you." - "That's right." Billy remembers the bar mitzvah! So is he also still William or just got his memories?
- Lilia really only cast the sigil because Billy needed time? I mean, it makes sense, but it's so anticlimactic.
- That Maestra is great, I wish I could put it into better words.
- Ooh, I didn't expect to get more of Lilia and Jen bonding.
- Jen calls Lilia's mind travelling in time a "mental walkabout" and I wonder if that was a very deliberate choice of words. As a Lost fan that show is the first thing I think of when I hear "walkabout" (though that word might be far more common than I'm aware) and it had a character's mind uncontrollably time-travelling. Actually apart from Lost and AAA, there's only one other example of mental time travel that I can remember (not that I have a memory like a sieve) and that was Logan's controlled journey to 50 years in the past. But let's not talk too much of X-Men. ahahaha
- Heyyy, Billy's spell book! So I guess the Salem Seven pick it up and then lost it in the tunnel.
- As Billy calls himself the queerent, Agatha gives him a fake laugh. Jeez, girl, you didn't invent the queer puns, let others have them too!
- "Am I William or am I Billy?" Yeeess, let's answer this already! He is so focussed on the important questions this episode, I love it.
- The disappointment that punched me in the gut when I realized that what Billy and Lilia had been talking about earlier in the ep wasn't the tarot reading from his bar mitzvah but from the trial. This non-linear editing is so cruel. Hey, show, I didn't a demonstration of what it's like to be Lilia!
- Reunion, huh? How ambiguously worded. If there isn't some disappointment ahead, I'll eat my tinfoil hat. Hey, in German we say "broom" instead of "hat" - combined those objects might refer to a witch. Fascinating.
- Hahaha, Agatha hating on the subjectivity of tarot.
- There was a subway station for real! But what is it doing there? And a little fun fact: That underground tech reminds me of Lost's hatch. Wait a second, it was mentally time-travelling Desmond who lived in down there!
- So proud of Jen choosing to go with Lilia instead of the subway.
- Jen has immense spiritual power? Man, am I looking forward to seeing that in action!
- Oh, is that a crown on Rio (and what is she holding in her left hand)? Since she's *the* Green Witch, I'm assuming those crowns mean that their wearers are the most powerful in their category. Wait, so Billy's is blue and if the shade doesn't matter, that would make him the heir of Evanora, so it's super fitting that Agatha is mentoring him. But what does the blue even mean? I thought it represented water as in potions, but that doesn't work with Billy. But if Jen has spiritual power, maybe that's what she has in common with Billy: I have no idea what exactly they mean by "spiritual" and if it intersects with Agatha's spirit witch stuff, but the spirit is the mind, so that would fit with Billy's mental powers.
- Rio is actually Death herself, not just one among many reapers as I had assumed. Man, that workload must be insane, she's gotta have underlings! Anyway, why was she appearing in the tunnel? Did she save Lilia and Jen from drowning in the mud? Does she have more things planned for them?
- The roots are glowing green and I'm confused. Since I had the thought that the Witches' Road must be Death's invention, it wouldn't make sense for Rio to have a trial. And neither would having that trial in the penultimate episode already... unless that last one is a denouement ep. Oh, please, no, I don't handle those well.
- I love that by turning the tower card, the room turns as well. Lilia defeating the Salem Seven* is awesome too, I just wish this show wasn't so deadly for its main characters! *I hope that's what's happened here, but are they even alive and thus killable in such mundane ways? God, I hope Lilia did more than just buy her coven some time.
- See? See?! If the Salem Seven are gone, that only leaves Rio as the villain, so if she's up next, that sounds incredibly anticlimactic for the final episode. Maybe that's why we get eps 8 & 9 together. Oh, or it's a two-parter, yes, yes. *fingers crossed*
- What exactly is that last scene trying to tell us? That time is circular, you're dead now, but one day you'll be born again? Or that even right before the end, Lilia was skipping through time, living some more?
- Very familiar guitar notes playing. Credits start, the song dares to continue *gasp* YOU DO NOT PLAY THAT SONG! UNLESS YOU ALSO MEAN SOMETHING ELSE BY IT! They can't be fucking with us that badly, can they? Nah, they mean the MCU will come full circle with the Fox X-Men and one in particular. Everything is fiiiine, lalalalala.
In conclusion: Another great episode, right in the fucking feels though. So mean to give me amazing character stories only to take away the characters right after!

Agatha All Along 1x08 Follow Me My Friend/To Glory at the End
Here's my snapshot of thoughts about this episode, containing questions that were answered later, but also some that didn't get answered. And some PM truthering at the very end.
- Alice flashback, yay! Good to see her again, even if it's this cruel situation.
- "If I had a nickel..." Wow, I've heard the nickel meme so many times now that for a few moments I had forgotten how that idiom really goes.
- "This can't be the end, it has to be the beginning." Preach! Personally I prefer when characters are rewarded by the narrative, since that's more satisfying. But *sigh* this story aims for realism instead, where forces of nature don't consider fairness or somesuch.
- Then we go to Jen and Billy realizing that they've lost Lilia. The writers aren't wasting any time making it clear this is Death's episode. Hey, so Nicky flashback coming up?
- Nice to see Rio's crown in light.
- After Rio's "You were distracting me from him." she's pointing like "Pietro" when he said "You are testing me.". You can't do that to me!
- Ugh, all these hints about Agatha, Rio & Nicky! Give me definitive answers already!
- "So Agatha's ex is Death." - "That also makes sense." Ha, it really does.
- Rio & Agatha's conversation about Tommy was too hard to follow for my foggy brain. Rio calls Billy's wish a violation - but isn't that the point of the Road?! What I got really caught on was "out there" - did Rio mean the world of the living or the dead? And I guess ADHD also had a role to play, because I couldn't decide which train of thought to follow, so no more thoughts on the topic were had. I could have just paused the video and written down the steps: Tommy isn't among the dead -> no more violation would be required -> Billy wouldn't have to steal another life. So that's not it then. Tommy isn't among the living -> requires a violation -> Billy has to steal another life. Now it all fits. Ugh, I used to be bright, those were good times, man! I think out of frustration I must have just given up on thinking about this whole conversation, because otherwise I should have caught that Rio saying she can't let Billy steal another life clears it up. Or maybe I got confused by the wording: "stole a second life" could well mean that the first one was also stolen. When Billy was born, he didn't steal that life, so the first one would refer to slipping into Wiliam's body and the second would be getting Tommy a new body. Which would have then been cleared up by "I can't let him do the same for his twin." unless your mind happened to be wandering at that moment. Anywayyyy.
- "If Billy is killed, he'll reincarnate again" Oh, so he really did that reincarnation by himself? I'm so proud of my little witch boy.
- Agatha trying to strike a deal with Rio about Billy feels so off. And how would that even work? She can't just bring him, she'd have to talk him into surrendering himself.
- Is Agatha's power just Death pursuing her? I mean, if you leave a trail of bodies, of course Death will be following you. Would Agatha change? Could she even? Is Rio not just doing her job, but also stalking Agatha? Agatha not wishing for Nicky to be returned confused me at first, but yeah, if Billy shouldn't be alive, Rio wouldn't let Nicky live again either.
- Rio really looks hearbroken that Agatha doesn't want to see her ever again. Which makes me even more curious if she was stalking Agatha or just had to show up all the time to Agatha's crime scenes. Anyway, didn't expect Rio to agree to that deal.
- Love the practical effect of her cutting through the Road wallpaper.
- Oof, Agatha putting on that unbothered facade with Billy and Jen is really grating now.
- I was wondering about those green leaves looking rather blue. You know, with the fashion of making everything looks so cyan these days, it could be hard to tell. But no, the leaves really are blue and we're back at the beginning.
- Jen looking at the shoes made me think they're the next trial. Then Billy slips into his pair and I'm right, just not the way I expected. Since Jen was looking at the shoes of Sharon, Alice and Lilia, I still thought the trial would be about bringing them back.
- Whoa, Jen really was bound! By Agatha! Ha, so I was right, she didn't get unbound by just finishing her own trial.
- Wait, in the last trial once you get from the Road what you came for, you get to leave it? So the end of the Road is individual instead of everyone together getting through the last task. Huh. Ugh, why did it have to be only the last trial though? Alice and Lilia could have lived!
- Billy doesn't know how he brought himself back and now Agatha's gonna help him find out, just like she helped Wanda find out how she brought "back" Vision. How very episode 8 of them, ha.
- Is Billy getting all his Hex memories back or just the last minutes? And what about William's?
- Soooo... did Tommy just spend 3 years bodylessly floating around? Was he hibernating in William's body? Or is Billy finding Tommy a new body just another memory Agatha helps recover?
- "Am I killing this boy so my brother can live?" - "No, Billy... sometimes boys die." Ouch. And he didn't get to hear it!
- Pfft, John Collins just going "oh" as Westview's sky is glowing in an unatural color again.
- Oh wow, hell hath no fury like a Death scorned.
- I like that Agatha seems to have learned that there's magic other than her purple.
- *sigh* Those sparks flying made me think Alice was back, because they're something fiery, kinda orange and a protection witch would be useful in that moment. But hey, Billy to the rescue!
- Idk about that costume. The visual weight feels off: The hood makes his legs look extra skinny.
- "Don't take it all." and she actually stops! How, what, why all of a sudden?!?! Because she had nothing no magic to begin with? Because he reminds her of her son? Because he's so powerful that he managed to telepathically stop her? Because he got his magic from Wanda who got it from Agatha, so there was a difference and natural stopping point between their magic? No wait, strike that last one, that would be a timey-wimey mess. Anyway: What???
- So nice to see Agatha in her contume again!
- "Power looks good on you." - "Honey, everything looks good on me."
- "You're not bad." - "Neither are you." - "You're the only one who thinks so." What if right here we have the thing that makes her see Nicky in Billy?
- Agatha's back and forth confused me. She was ready to sacrifice herself for Billy, but then he surrenders and Agatha is cool with it - until he asks about Nicky's death again. But Nicky was invoked (so to speak) just a few seconds ago, so why was mentioning him different? Honestly, I thought Billy going from "you're not bad" to "Did you let Death have your son to save your own life?" would make Agatha even more willing to sacrifice Billy. But I guess she wanted to prove herself instead, that she hadn't traded away Nicky's life nor would she do that to Billy.
- Huh, a literal kiss of death. But I wanted mentor!Agatha! And she only just finally got her power back! Okay, so what's Agatha secret plan? She must have gotten around it somehow.
- Pfft, Billy with the walk of shame as if he had perpetrated something. ...Oh okay, I guess he thinks he's gotten Agatha killed, but idk, the scale between the Hex and this feels so different. Not that he would be very aware of that. And Agatha can't be dead. He doesn't seem to know that either.
- Pfft, instead of flying away he mundanely gets into his car.
- And finally the time question has been answered. Billy has only been gone for 24 hours, phew.
- Jeez, Marvel, no need to linger on shirtless Billy just to please horny fans. Stop giving guys paranoia about their bodies. I will murder you on this hill.
- What a wonderfully executed reveleation. Holy shit, the Witches' Road is actually Billy's creation?! I mean, I had encountered the thoery, but I hadn't believed it, because I didn't think he'd be that powerful. Oh, you weren't playing Death's game, therefore she wouldn't reward you with bringing back people (even if they had died on the Road) if you won.
- "Boo"?! I was already worried about having another episode - without the title character! Phew.
- Interesting that Billy couldn't give Agatha her magic via the Road and had to blast her instead. That works with my theory that you can't just hand out powers, therefore "Ralph" superspeeding in WV 1x09 means he's Peter Maximoff. Oh, I love it when there's more support for my truthering!

Agatha All Along 1x09 Maiden, Mother, Crone
- Into the flashbacks right away? They'll hold the answer then to how Agatha is still around. But also: Finally the flashbacks! Can you imagine how silly that would have been with Agatha already dead?
- Wow, that lemon thing is hardcore.
- Oh, Nicky was supposed to be stillborn! And Agatha knew Rio already.
- Ah, so the name Scratch comes from Nicky being made without magic, okay. Yeah, I mean, if you get yourself some random guy for babymaking, you wouldn't name you kid after him. And I guess Harkness was out of the question because of Evanora.
- Nicky got to be at least 6! That really was generous of Rio, special treatment indeed. So was Agatha just bitter that she got to love Nicky so much and in hindsight it would have been easier to let go of a stillborn?
- OMFG, The Ballad of the Witches' Road is their song, they made it up together!
- "I can cast illusions" Is that what happened, did Agatha fool future!Rio like that? But then Rio would have known, would have felt it, no?
- Oh, poor Nicky knows he's doomed.
- Agatha is so sweet with Nicky. ;__;
- So the Road really was Agatha's scam.
- I assume for the first time in Agatha's life there was more purpose behind killing witches and Rio took them as bribes.
- This episode is such a sob fest. How dare they do that to me again.
- "I bury my own heart here with you my child." So after that Agatha really let loose with the murdering?
- "If one be gone, we carry on" This is where that line came from. Ouch!
- Oh that montage through the times. Dramatic, showing her descend, but also what a fashion show! 90s!Agatha, oh myyyy!
- No wonder Agatha suspected Teen to be a Minimoff, the only other witch with that kind of power was Wanda.
- Oh, Agatha's a ghost! Looks good on her, though I'm a bit sad that her original costume is already gone. And I bet she stole the idea for silver hair from "Ralph".
- Soooo, it was more important for Agatha to get Death off her back (she really achieved the ultimate "fuck you") than to keep her magic. Although I guess the point of amassing so much power was to escape death. And now she can exist anxiety-free.
- "If you actually do the math on it, you saved a life." Agatha, I appreciate that you're trying to help, but this is not how math works. "I was gonna kill them all in my basement on day one." Oh yeah, you and what power? They knew not to blast you.
- Jen had to dig herself up and fucks off. That's it? That's all we get?
- And that shot of Jen flying off hurts in another way too: On the left we have the sun going down, on the right we have the moon with its illuminated side pointing right.
- "If you wanna be a witch, get used to this feeling." Heyyyy, stop trying to corrupt my boy!
- Whoa, the door to the Road is still there.
- Man, and I thought Agatha would be happy if she got to see Nicky again. I would understand why bringing him back to life wouldn't have been what she wanted (because then she'd live with the constant anxiety of losing him again), but why not hang out with him in the afterlife?! Does she feel guilty about that last day, that she didn't kill those witches thus cost Nicky his life?
- Gonna be weird for the WitSec guys who discover the memorial in the basement floor.
- Ugh, they did the frustrating thing with all the unanswered questions again! Does Billy have his memories back? Is he both boys? After having her hyped up by Lilia, we don't get to see Jen or her power after the Road. What's the nature of Agatha's power stealing? Considering how important and intriguing Agatha & Rio's relationship is (in a way they're equals, she couldn't be a danger to Death), I had expected more of their backstory. Why did Evanora say Agatha was born evil? My god, we're basically missing the whole maiden part of this ep called Maiden, Mother, Crone! When & how did Agatha get the Darkhold? We still know nothing about Señor Scratchy. Can that little demon at least feed himself? You know, I wouldn't have expected all of those answered (at least the Billy ones they'll have left for the next time he appears), but definitely more than they did.
