It's so weird to not have any idea what to expect from a new episode. This endless intro is torturous!
I wonder how all these askew buildings haven't crumbled yet.
Ooooh, interesting cloud! Is that an interdimensional doorway?
The Void? You can't just include a Void into your show about the multiverse! I didn't need those Doctor Who feels of the Doomsday variety. Anyway, back to Loki: So it's not a real dimension or the afterlife? Or do they just not know better? And I guess Alioth is not a doorway then.
Whoa, Renslayer knows that pruning isn't the end.
Ha, she's explaining the Void and I'm still reminded of Doctor Who. Every instance of time collides at the same point. Hey, maybe Alioth is like Doctor Who's Reapers.
I want to trust Renslayer, but I don't believe they'd deviate from her comics counterpart that far.
I wonder where those funny peacocks are from. Will we see them again somewhere?
"Will someone please explain to me what the hell is going on?!" Same.
"... plus an alligator, which I'm heartbroken to report, I didn't even find all that strange." XD
We get to know the other Variants a bit and I already love them.
"He's overly sensitive, like the rest of us."
Kid Loki killed Thor? How did that happen, was is on purpose? I request elaboration!
I was so confused by the Thanoscopter. Good thing there are comics fans online who love to share their knowledge.
At first I only saw that there was a tiny Thor in a jar. Only when I surfed the internet after the episode, did I learn it was a frog! How long has he been there? How is he still alive? Or was he dropped directly into the ground?
Hm, having conversations about the beginning and end of time in front of Miss Minutes. Might be a bad idea, if she's the one running the TVA.
Look at Renslayer totally not acting suspiciously. If she had more acting talent, would Sylvie not have been suspicious about Miss Minutes taking so long to find the Void ship file?
Ooh, Sylvie has a prune stick and a TemPad. She just needs to prune herself to get to the Void.
Renslayer suggests that if Sylvie surrenders, she'll get to live out her life in a Timeloop of a good memory. How is that supposed to work? Not only can Sylvie get really old anyway, but in the TVA she would last even longer. Even with a good memory it would be torture.
Yes, Sylvie prunes herself!
See, blades stunt Lokis's magical potential. Classic Loki's story is so sad!
None of the Lokis have met a female version of themselves?! What a crushing piece of information.
1. OMFG, if that Loki/Sylvie relationship really turns out to be romantic, I'll be so pissed off, because it makes it feel like the only reason they made Loki sexfluid (not to be confused with genderfluid, some people on Tumblr need to be reminded) is to have a heteronormative ship. Something you wouldn't even need with a character that's been confirmed as bi.
2. And what does that sexfluid even mean? Just that the TVA has encountered Sylvie, the lone female-born version? Or have more Lokis been born female, but they're better at evading pruning or keeping in line with the Sacred Timeline?
3. I'm sad that sexfluid doesn't refer to Lokis using their shapeshifting to turn into woman. At least I gather that from the fact that it hasn't come up yet. And if they don't do that, I think we can safely assume that they're not genderfluid either.
4. Sylvie being born female seems to mean that a lot of Lokis aren't genetically the same as ours. Unless sexes of Frost Giants aren't determined by genes. In that case genderfluidity might be back on the table. But if they do have different genes, you can't assume that they're all bi (unless this orientation is a species-specific thing).
OMG! I didn't see it coming that President Loki wouldn't be ours!
Did Sylvie just see a memory of Alioth? And it wasn't of an island! :oP
MOBIUS! \o/
"God, you really are one of you!"
All the Lokis betraying each other. What a pity that apparently Classic Loki and ours are the only Variants that had enough character growth (apart from Sylvie obviously, but she is in a class by herself). Kid Loki and Lokigator seem good too, but we don't know enough about them to know how that happened. I guess we'll see Kid Loki again in a movie, so we'll find out then.
Hey cool, Classic Loki can make portals. Then why didn't they take that way when they brought our Loki in?
Aren't marauders and pirates the same thing? Except that pirates operate on water, but I haven't seen any in The Void, so.
Awww, Loki. The happiness when he sees Sylvie and Mobius. And then he's introducing his Variants as friends.
Renslayer kept B-15 at the TVA! So that's what a Time Cell is.
I wonder if B-15 is right about Renslayer only wanting to find out who's behind the TVA.
Heh, the license plate of the car Mobius drove could be read as "green wand". Yes, Loki, learn to properly use your magic! Though without a wand please, that would look silly.
Mobius doubts that Lokigator is a Loki and at first I thought that was a fun conversation, but then I worried if there might be a point to it. What if one of the Lokis really isn't one? The one that would hurt the most would be Sylvie, but what keeps me from freaking out about that is that I don't see how that could be possible with the facts that have been established.
Why does Loki say that Mobius isn't so good? Did he take the various forms of torture personally or is it because he, like Sylvie, recognizes that Mobius did other the-ends-justify-the-means stuff?
Loki and Sylvie are being cute here, but please be not shippy! They could just have sibling-ly feelings or misinterpreting their feelings as romantic. Ugh, even if it turns out to be the latter, why did the creators have to go there?! I'm not against selfcest or incest on principle (it's all a question of power balance, consent and not procreating), but my god, do I hate this ship (as a romantic one) for several reasons.
Haha, Sylvie criticizing the blanket. That's me everytime I see people use sheets as blankets.
Mobius says he'll burn the TVA to the ground. Yes, good man!
Huuug!
Loki's blade-based diversion isn't working and Sylvie is about to be eaten by Alioth, but Classic Loki comes to the rescue! By showing showing again that Lokis' magic is mightier than their swords - how fitting!
And the Ride of the Valkyries soundtrack! Also fitting!
"I think we're stronger than we realize." Yes, Loki, important lesson!
See, Loki learns that he can enchant. Or maybe Sylvie manages to enchant the knowledge of how to do it over to him. Would make more sense than people just learning things about which they know fuck all without being given the time, techniques or practice. I dislike this you'll-just-have-to-want-it trope.
I'm so sad that Classic Loki was killed off, but at least he found his glorious purpose.
