The Mandalorian
I didn't expect to watch this show, but a spoiler made me curious.
Huh, I'm impressed. I thought it would be all dark and too much action (what else was I supposed to gather from what little info was offered beforehand), but it's actually got the Star Wars charm and adventure.
I also expected the Mandalorian to be an omnipotent action hero, but then he tried to ride that blurrg and failed.
As you might know, I'm a grumpy bitch and hate change. So I found it very surprising that I didn't mind and even like the soundtrack that's nothing like John Williams'.
Someone discuss this show with me! I'm out of fandom and lonely! And with this, on to the spoiler & speculation.
OMG, look at the adorable Yoda-species baby (this is the spoiler made me want to check out the show)! I shall call you Maxi-Chlorian and you shall be mine, and you shall be my squishy! More on that later.
So a remainder of Imperialists actually want a baby killed or experiment on it. Bringing in a Mengele is certainly a nice way to remind people that the baddies are Nazi equivalents. Seriously, I don't get what some like about the Dark Side.
Sooo... baby theories! That's only the 3rd of that species that we've seen, but also the 3rd that's Force-sensitive, hmmm. A very rare species of which apparently every individual can use the Force ... what if, in a way, they are the Force personified? What if midi-chlorians occasionally gathered into a more complex lifeform? Purely midi-chlorians, unlike Anakin who was made from Shmi and midi-chlorians. Okay, that doesn't fit with Yoda having a smaller midi-chlorian count than Ani, but you can explain away anything. Like: Yoda was much smaller than Ani. Or: Maybe when Maxi-Chlorians, as I dub the secies, are made, some midi-chlorians change into other cells, thus won't turn up in the midi-chlorian count. And if you'll let it count (as it comes from our galaxy intead of the one far, far away): "kloros" means "green".
As I've said, unfortunately I'm not in fandom, so I have no idea what others' theories are. But I'm thinking, they'll be similar to mine. I'd love if the show would expand on the topic of midi-chlorians, as I'm not a hater (it could also help haters, by explaining away things they didn't like). Although that might have come up in the cartoons - I wouldn't know, I couldn't get my fingers on these yet.
