The X-Files 11x04 The Lost Art of Forehead Sweat

Hey, it's that actor again!
I'm not far into the ep, but I'd say it's Darin Morgan one. The episode where we've seen that actor before was also by Darin Morgan. ...Ooh, does that mean we'll finally see Daggoo again?

C-c-c-combo breaker! They didn't do anything with "the truth is out there" this time.

Ooh, Mulder has an X taped on his window.
Interesting outfit, Mulder!
"Mulder, it's me." ♥
Hee, British Columbia is mentioned.

"Why aren't people probed by aliens anymore?" Ooh, ooh, is it because they want to sell you the lie that aliens were never here except for the Roswell incident?

Yay, Scully's voice isn't hoarse anymore.
Episode guidebooks. Ah, those were good times, I have those of early X-Files seasons.
Darin Morgan isn't just good at writing funny episodes, but also at making the characters act like real people.

Ahahaha, that flashback!Mulder!

And another actor recognized! The joy of watching shows shot in Vancouver!

Haha, that cutting out of the name of the company was a nice effect! Gotta love the creative editing in Darin Morgan's eps.
And I'm loving Mulder's idea of false memories being a parallel-universe thing.

"But rumours swirled that he was at the last presidential inauguration where, amongst the hundreds of millions who attended, ..." Trolltastic! XD

"We used to be partners!" Well, in that case he'll probably be dead by the end of the episode. Because that's what happened to most of Mulder or Scully's old acquaintances. At least in the early seasons.

OMG, the opening sequence with Reggie!
Yeah, so speaking of old acquaintances who were killed off: Reggie Purdue in 1x16, where I suspect the clip of Mulder answering the phone is from. I didn't pull that info from memory - I still have the "old acquaintances of Mulder or Scully" list (with notes of who died and who didn't) at the bottom of the text file in which I'm typing up this review.
Those clips with Reggie edited in weird me out so much. ...Hey, I bet Darin Morgan totally managed to get fans pretending that Reggie actually used to be on the show. I almost want to check, but then I'm worried I'd feel mindfucked.

"And the next thing you know, you're Deep State. Sad!" XD

Oh, no, Fox Mulder has been out-conspiracy-theoried!
Oh, so that's why the "I want to believe" poster changed places, because the conspiracy pinboard is in its old place.

While this episode is fun, I'm seriously wondering where it is going. Is Reggie a well-meaning brainwash victim or a conspiritor trying to convince Mulder & Scully of his bullshit? Pretty sure Dr. They is the latter. But what's the point?

Finally things are making sense. Scully with her research to the rescue!
Aw, Mulder's idea of what happened to Reggie is rather nice. I'm actually wondering how people manage to stay sane with this administration (and if you could sue them, if you do lose it). Additionally Reggie was a bureaucrat, and you know how Trump and his ilk are dragging those through the mud.
OMG, that is his ride! Old school! Heh, it says "Spotnitz Sanatorium" on the side.
"Take care, guys. Stay sane." ♥

The alien coming down the escalator! Nice Jetsons sound on the Segway! They're building a wall!
"No, it's not true! It can't be!" Mulder says with the same face as Luke and flings himself down the Cloud City shaft to the ground XD. A reference to the "Luke, I am your father" misquote/Mandela effect, I take it.

Well, that was a completely nutty yet deadly serious episode.
