I've finally finished Veronica Mars S3 and watched the movie
Wow, was I confused when I saw Lamb in season 3! I was under the impression that Lamb was on the plane on which Keith should have been. So I thought Lamb got blown up and thatt we had finally gotten rid of him. But hey, at least he died later that season. My dislike of his character was so big that I was honestly slightly confused about Keith and Veronica's shocked reaction. Took me a moment to realize that of course for the characters it's a real-life death, not just that of an assholean character on a TV show.
What was up with the end of the season? When the rapist arc (which I thought would be solved at the end of the season) was done, I thought the season would end with finding out who murdered the dean. But then that arc was finished early too. I expected there to be a new arc, but there was nothing. I don't understand! All that followed were filler episodes (with too much relationship stuff, ugh) - even the final episode was one! Couldn't they have finished the story with Keith's case from 3x01? Admittedly, I have a bad memory, but I was under the impression that it wasn't resolved yet. Unless someone mumbled some important lines and I didn't understand them.
In the show's final episode Keith got he got himself into some potentially big shit by erasing evidence to save Veronica, and my need for more information was so big that instead of finally going to bed I watched the movie.
The continuation! Man, did I like a continuation (especially since I watched the movie right after the show), Piz and the sex vid and sooooo many characters from the show! What I didn't like and I'm still shocked about is Veronica's job. How am I supposed to get over that she gave up being a detective?! I liked that future that never was, where she was an FBI agent.
While most characters' appearance hasn't changed much, I almost didn't recognize Veronica at first. There was something different about her face, but I find it hard to tell what exactly it is. Maybe she gained some weight? Which would make sense in connection with her big boobs and just generally. I think she looked very mom-shaped, so I guess Kristen Bell had a baby.
I was really surprised to see another Sheriff Lamb and wondered if they retconned his death and recast him (With Jerry O'Connell from Sliders, ah!). Ah, the relief at finding out this Sheriff Lamb is the way-too-similar-in-character brother of the dead Sheriff Lamb.
Speaking of old fandoms: 1. I love that Matchbox Twenty's Rob Thomas got a mention again. 2. OMG, Logan became a JAG guy! XD
So happy to see Veronica's friends again and learning what they're up to now. Mac's hair is super cool! Wallace is a teacher. A sexy teacher, aw yeah. And Weevil managed to leave his criminal life behind and is a dad now! Okay, at the end we see him back in a gang apparently, but that isn't necessarily what the scene means. I live in hope.
In the end everything is good, because Veronica is finally back in the PI business and working with her dad.
