Sherlock 3x01 German dub

Siezlock continues: John and Sherlock are still addressing each other with the formal you. *sigh*

Sometimes I'm easily impressed. Jim appears in this episode, but doesn't speak, only makes noises. And for that they brought in his German voice actor. I mean, I know, they probably did that along with other Jim scenes, but somehow I'm still amazed to hear that small scene dubbed.

German TV generally isn't big on accents. Instead of giving Laura a German accent, they had her speak casually and use the grammatical mistake "als wie" ("like than" instead of just "than"). I liked that.

I like that in German they could still make something out of "cough" in the "f"-"cough" scene. Although it's tamer than in English.

The carriage/car translation was nicely solved by making it Wagon (for freight)/Wagen (for people).

The font of Mary's texts is too small. Hard to read, especially when they're gone so quickly in the motorbike scene.

I'm impressed by the perfection with which "Lazarus läuft" in place of "Lazarus is go" is on Sherlock's phone.
