Is this a regular thing? I had two random people apparently shouting at me from their cars while driving past me on the sidewalk last night. Years ago when I walked along the street high school kids drive to and from school I encountered a lot of kids just shouting "hey" for the heck of it, but this was different and bizzare.
First, this was on a freezing cold night, so rolling down your window and leaning out while moving is unpleasant in the extreme. Second, this was on a somewhat busy street with 50 - 60 MPH traffic, so it's more than a little difficult and dangerous to take your eyes off the road and try to time yelling to someone. Third, it sounded like grown men yelling angrily, though it's practically impossible to understand any words due to the speed and the roar of traffic, but they were certainly trying to say something. Finally, I think I heard the second guy say F-you at least once, though we were too far apart and it was too dark to see each other clearly.
After laughing at the idiotic behaviour of these people, I started wondering whether they were insane or actually had some issue with me. Unless the people of the city have started secretly studying what I jerk I am, which would be immensely satisfying but highly unlikely, I am going to have to assume it was completely random craziness. It makes me wonder if they'll start throwing things or firing weapons at random next, though. Death has not frightened me for ten years, but the fates worse than death that can be caused by gunplay are a concern.
