I finally have a guitar. I've wanted to learn to play for a long time, and actually have an instrument to play. Sure, I could have played my brother's old electric, but I really really wanted an acoustic. I couldn't really afford to go out and buy one, even a cheap one, and no one I asked seemed to have one they didn't play anymore-- I remember growing up it seemed everyone had an acoustic guitar laying around the hose that no one played anymore, but they seemed to be all gone. Blame eBay.

But I mentioned it to my aunt, and she whipped a guitar out of a closest and said I could have it. It's a classical guitar-- nylon strings. I really want to learn fingerstyle/classical, but I can't grow my fingernails out-- I have a terrible habit, not of biting my nails, but of picking at them-- so I'll have to get a set of fingerpicks. I knew I would need so strings soon, as the ones on it were pretty old, but one of the strings already snapped so I can't even practice anymore. Lord, I need to get pain.

Speaking of which, I'm nearly three weeks into this job and I still don't get a check until Friday. Pay periods just fell that way, so it will be a big check, but I've gone without things I need for a long time now-- namely a fuse for my turn signals, which are only working about half the time. Driving in construction without reliable turn signals isn't fun.

Lend Me a Tenor hit a snag today-- the actor playing Saunders, one of the major characters, dropped out. That's a real blow, especially this late into the game. After a lot of discussion, it was decided that the actor playing the Bellhop will move to the role of Saunders, and we'll have to find a new Bellhop. The show will go on, of course, but we're all just going to have to but in a lot more work for the rest of the rehearsal period.

Isn't this contradictory? Shouldn't Cookie Monster be himself a cookie?
