Fall Tours?

Sep 01, 2009 20:28

Which tours are you stoked for? Which ones are you not happy about? Complain if they're skipping your state/city. Anything Fall tour related.

BTW: I am not stoked for the BLG tour.

Complaining about no tours ever coming to Canada, and if they DO, then it's Toronto and Montreal, and MAYBE, maybe Vancouver. Toronto/Montreal are 5 day drives for me, and Vancouver is a $400 flight. So eff that. I live in Alberta where there are 2 major cities. Fucking hell bands, come to other cities!

Oh man, I feel bad for you. I'm in Toronto and we bitch and complain when bands skip us (or because no one can do their effing jobs right, book on the same night) but you get ripped off dude. Who the eff even comes to Alberta? Do you at least get like Ten Second Epic, Marianas Trench, Faber Drive and Hedley? (Yeah i know, kinda shitty bands but they are the only ones I could think of that do Canadian tours)

Barely even get those dudes, honestly. Hedley's come to Calgary twice that I know of. MT has played here in Lethbridge (lol bumfuck town) once though. But I travel to Edmonton for all my shows. MCR came there in 2007, and last year Rancid played Edmonton so I went to that. I'm seeing Marilyn Manson in Edmonton on September 11th... but other than that, I fly to Vancouver for shows. I've spent about $1000 on flights in 2009 to go to Vancouver for shows, ugh.

Wow really? That would kill me. Why do promoters think to skip Canada like this? NOT FAIR.

Yeah, that's the only choice I have if I want to see bands I like. So it's like, drive 3 hours to the airport, then fly and spend the night there and pay for hostel and pay for transportation and fuuuck. It's insane >:[
I'm so lucky to have a job that doesn't care when I take time off.

ia. vancouver rarely gets anything (or, well, rarely what i'm interested in), so i usually suck it up and make the trip down to seattle.

Yeah. I would too, but I have no passport. Plus I'd have to fly and it'd be fucking expensive. I dish out about $400-ish on flights to come to Vancouver for shows and I've spent about $1000 in 2009 to see bands out there. Granted, I LOVE Vancouver so much, so that's a bonus.

Most of the time, bands come to Toronto and to Montreal. But I'm mad when bands skip Montreal but not Toronto.

Do you know if there are any good upcoming shows in Montreal?

agreed. i'm an albertan too, and it seriously sucks. even though warped goes to calgary, i really hate going there. but apparently the venue that they held it at is shutting down, so hopefully for 2010, they'll go to edmonton!

i hate how it seems like toronto/vancouver are the only cities that exist. :(

Mm rumor has it Warped will go to Edmonton. I love the venue in Calgary though, omg. Looove. I still think that Warped should be at the Stampede Grounds in Calgary though. It's big enough for it, anyway.

But yeah. I'm from Lethbridge so NOTHING comes here. And seriously, Canada is SO MUCH more than Ontario.
