Dedications To everyone who sent me a message or left a comment encouraging me to re-post my stories. To anyone who requested one of my fics or recommended my story to another person. You are the best. Also, to misspenth0pes for being an incredible Beta and the most amazing wifey/muse ever. Without her, these stories would have never existed and I would have never bothered putting them up again, so you can thank her.

“You've been fucking gorgeous. Thank you!" The silver beams of light glare down on Gerard as his eyes scan over the crowd one last time, hurrying off the stage after the encore to the sounds of cheers and applause. The singer grabs a towel, lighting up a cigarette as he follows his band mates to the dressing room and everything else becomes a blur of post-show routines until they reach the hotel. He can't remember the number of times he signed a ticket or scrap of paper. He lost count of the number of flashes he had go off in his face as he forced tired smile yet again. All he wants is something to eat and a real bed to fall into so he can do it all again tomorrow.

Waiting for the keys to get handed out, he draws the short straw, once again left with the single room and though he really doesn't mind, he can’t help but feel a little sad as he watches his friends leave him behind. He used to beg for a room to himself, now it was starting to feel a little lonely.

Shrugging it off, Gerard heads toward the hotel restaurant, his stomach suddenly reminding him of the calories he'd burned that night. Another room service meal alone his bed isn't too appealing, especially with his clumsy knack for getting ketchup on white bed spreads. Besides, right now he craves human company that really can't be satisfied by re-runs of 'Ace of Cakes'. Once inside, he's a little saddened when he sees the lights off, the area empty and chairs placed neatly on top of the tables.

"Fucking, ugh. Just my luck." He mutters, preparing himself for the all too familiar late night menu where every selection seemed to be deep fried. A noise from the back catches his attention though which he recognizes as the sound of someone singing. He smiles when he knows the tune and tentatively makes his way toward the back, his curiosity getting the best of him.

“Bless me dark Father, I have sinned. I've done it before and I'll do it again...” The soft, deep voice sings along with the radio playing and Gerard clears his throat, not wanting to startle whomever it was. He hears a sharp intake of breath and then a figure emerges from the dark, the music still floating softly through the air.

“Sorry, I didn’t know anyone was here.” The obviously younger man begins, a slight flush on his cheeks evident under the soft lights. Gerard tries to be inconspicuous as his gaze sweeps over the face of the person in front of him, taking in the shiny, sandy hair that's just begging to be touched and gently brushed back where it's sitting slightly messy. His eyes drift down to the piercing hazel eyes underneath, a light trace of eyeliner accenting the vivid color, continuing lower to the full lips that are curled up in an adorable half smile. Gerard is captivated.

“Did you need something?” The person speaks again and it takes Gerard a few seconds to realize that a question has been posed. He's having a hard time focusing on his response, continuing to look the waiter over, gaze falling on the form fitting blue shirt and the black apron that is wrapped snugly around a slender waist. A pair of tight black pants sit low on the stranger's narrow hips, ending at a pair of black square-toed boots that are slightly scuffed from frequent use.

Slowly Gerard shakes himself out of the slight trance he's fallen into, doing his best to concentrate on formulating an answer.

"Uhm...yeah...I was looking for food. To eat." Gerard barely manages to get out. His brain processes his words, inwardly cringing at how dumb he must sound because what other reason was there for wanting to find food?

So denied, so I lied. Are you the now or never kind?
In a day and a day love, I'm gonna be gone for good again.
Are you willing to be had? Are you cool with just tonight?
Here's a toast to all those who hear me all too well...

"Well, technically we're closed but I could get you something from the deli. Maybe a sandwich and chips? Anything else and I'd have to cook. Trust me, you couldn't possibly be that desperate for food." Gerard smiles because the man's words aren't really self depreciating, just honest.

"Thank you..." Gerard's eyes are distracted from the perfect facial features for just a second, glancing down to a flash of gold pinned to the man's chest .

"Michael?" He starts, but gets cut off.

"Mikey works." The guy holds out his hand and Gerard reaches for it, shaking it in a friendly manner.

"Gerard." He informs his new companion, glad his voice has returned to a somewhat more confident tone.

"So you like Alkaline Trio?" Gerard asks, trying his best to at least act in control, not mentioning that he had just done a massive tour with them. Not one to draw attention to himself, he decides instantly that boasting about that kind of thing wouldn't make a good first impression at the moment.

"Who doesn't?" Michael's face stretches out into a grin and Gerard feels his knees go weak.

"True. I mean, I like them. They're just constantly fucking amazing, right?" Gerard nods, asking with a nervous excitement that he can't seem to bury or ignore.

"Just give me a second to get your food." Mikey excuses himself after getting a general food and drink order, pointing the other man toward an empty table in the back. Gerard slowly takes a seat, mentally kicking himself over how lame he's acting. Hell, he's probably as obvious as the 15 year old girls that giggled and swooned over him.

Gerard tries to regain his composure, reassuring himself that when Mikey returns, he’ll stop acting like a school girl with an instant crush. It's a lot easier to try and convince himself since he's alone for the moment. However when he sees Mikey emerge, his plan is quickly forgotten. The waiter steps around tables, skillfully carrying two plates in one hand, balancing two cups in the other with such a graceful air, that it leaves Gerard somewhat speechless. After setting everything down, Mikey asks if it's okay if he joins the singer and Gerard nods right away. He tries not to look too enthusiastic, but he has a feeling he hasn't succeeded.

The two men begin to eat, Gerard managing to get out a thanks between a handful of chips and a sip of his diet coke. It's not until the plates are half empty that conversation resumes again, both Gerard and Mikey content with the food in their bodies.

"So what are you in town for?" Mikey asks, taking a sip of his own drink as he turns to Gerard. It was a fairly obvious opening question for a hotel guest and it was one Mikey often started conversations with. Gerard answers the question as casually as he can, letting Mikey know that he is in town for the concert and he's surprised that Mikey doesn't seem to recognize him. It's not really conceited on the singer's part, just being anonymous was a rare luxury nowadays for Gerard.

"Yeah, okay... I knew that." Mikey laughs at his admission, giving Gerard another one of those dazzling smiles. "I'm not ignorant."

"Well, I don't know...I'm not arrogant." Gerard quips back, though he can feel the blush spreading across his face, never quite knowing what angle to take in these situations.

The night wears on as the men continue to talk, their conversation flowing easily from music to movies, all the way to comic books and classic literature. Mikey's company is refreshing to Gerard because he's interesting and fun to talk with, his humor and wit mixing with intelligence and honesty. It's something Gerard hasn't found in a long time. He also appreciates Mikey's smile, which when accompanied by his laugh, is out right irresistible.

Eventually Mikey stands, collecting the rubbish that has sat in front of them for at over an hour now.

"It's getting pretty late. I should get going." Mikey explains, taking everything to the back and returning with a jacket and a set of keys. Gerard nods his head, smiling as he too stands, unsure of what to say at this point as his mind ponders the proper conduct between hotel guests and employees.

"It was nice talking to you Gerard." The young waiter reaches forward to shake his hand, but Gerard isn't ready for the night to be over yet and the voice in his head is encouraging, deciding for him that proper conduct is overrated. In fact, it's quite insignificant when compared to his loneliness and the amazing guy standing in front of him. It takes his brain a few seconds to analyze their evening, making a quick realization that they'd definitely been mutual flirting. Fighting all inhibitions, Gerard leans in to meet him, pulling Mikey in for a kiss. He can sense the surprise in the other man, but to his delight, he doesn't pull away.

Put your name on the line, along with place and time.
Wanna stay, not to go. I wanna ditch the logical.
Here's a toast to all those who hear me all too well...

Slowly Gerard pulls back, looking down at the man in front of him. When their eyes meet, Gerard sees a flash of understanding and Mikey gives the slightest nod of consent. Their fingers link and Gerard leads him to the elevator, almost afraid that at any moment Mikey will change his mind.

Moments later, the elevator stops on the 14th floor with a soft chime. Gerard gives Mikey one last 'are you sure?' look, and he's rewarded with another smile. The doors slide open and they walk down the hall, pausing outside one of the doors. Pulling out his key card, Gerard slides it into the slot, pushing the handle down and pushing on the door. A red light glares back at him and he tries again, deprived of the green light one more time.

"Here." Mikey says gently, not frustrated, just slightly amused at the singers inability to perform the simple task. His hand slips over Gerard's as he takes the key, slipping it through the scanner a little slower and he pushes open the door when the green light flashes. Not so much embarrassed as he is entertained, Gerard thanks him and leads him inside. Letting the door fall shut behind them with a click, he watches as Mikey moves to set his jacket down on the chair in the corner before stepping in against him.

Once again Mikey finds himself lost in a blissful haze as he feels Gerard's soft lips against his, barely noticing as their clothing is discarded in a messy trail across the room. Reaching into his bag, Gerard pulls out a tube and condom from one of the pockets, keeping his other arm around Mikey as they move toward the bed. He reaches to pull back the covers, lowering Mikey’s frame down onto the mattress. Then without hesitation, Gerard is on top of him, his finger slipping slowly inside Mikey. He can't help but think that Gerard seems anything but inexperienced as he slowly works in another finger, the action causing Mikey to arch up off the soft cotton sheets.

Pleased with the reaction, Gerard begins to carefully move his hand and it doesn't take long before Mikey breathing quickens, hips rolling up off the mattress. The pace continues until Mikey is begging for more and Gerard tears open the condom, slipping it on before shifting above the body stretched out beneath him. He braces his hands on either side of the Mikey's shoulders, aligning himself before he slowly pushes inside of the smaller man.

Mikey's hands grip Gerard's shoulders, pulling him closer until his legs hook easily up around Gerard's waist. Easing himself out before thrusting back into Mikey, the feeling tears through Gerard's body, tingling in his fingers and toes. He watches Mikey's lips part in pleasure and leans down to slip his tongue inside for another searing kiss. Continuing to move in and out, hips rolling in perfect rhythm, Gerard isn't aware of his own gasps and moans mixing with Mikey's.

“Oh fuck Gerard.” Mikey whimpers, nails raking down the pale flesh of Gerard's shoulders, skin slightly damp with sweat from the physical exertion. Raising his hips to meet Gerard’s, Mikey forces him deeper, every movement causing waves of pleasure to crash through his entire body.

"mmm...god Mikey." Gerard growls out the words, the name falling from his lips easily and he's unable to tear his gaze away from the man looking up at him. His hand slips between them and Gerard watches as Mikey arches higher up off the bed, face twisting into a look of pure ecstasy as his body hits it's release and Gerard can feel Mikey's muscles tighten around him. One last thrust sends Gerard over the edge, both men continuing to move until they're completely spent.

His breathing heavy, Gerard slowly pulls out of Mikey, discarding the used rubber. Using a towel to clean up, he reaches down to tug the blankets up over them, smiling when Mikey moves closer to him. He wraps his arms around the smaller man's form, a soft sigh of contentment slipping past his lips. This felt right to him; having Mikey in his arms made him feel alive and he couldn't help but feel an intense sadness when he realized that it was only for the night.

There's a smile on his lips as he listens to Mikey's gentle breaths, the steady sound letting him know that the other man has fallen to sleep. Gerard takes a few minutes to himself, thinking about the pout on the perfect lips in front of him that hides the smile he'd first been attracted to in the restaurant. It's then that Gerard closes his eyes, slowly drifting off to sleep himself.

All my time is frozen motion.
Can't I stay an hour or two or more, don't let me let you go.
Here's a toast to all those who hear me all too well...

The figure on the bed slowly opens his eyes, rolling over as the harsh sunlight drifts through the crack in the blinds. He realizes that the morning has come much too soon and his eyes widen when he realizes that he's alone in the bed. Sure, he knew it was only a night, but he hadn't even gotten a chance to say good bye. Glancing over at the pillow beside him, he notices a note lying on top of it, a boyish scrawl across the hotel's stationary evident even in his sleepy state. Reaching over, he grabs it, taking a breath before he starts to read.

Sorry for leaving the way I did, but I figured it would be easier this way. I had a nice time last night and if you ever want to talk - (210) 555-6789.
Maybe I’ll see you again, one day. Until then…

Mikey

Gerard gets up from the bed, moving to slip the piece of paper into his bag before pulling on some clothes. There's a loud knock on the door and Frank is yelling that the bus is leaving in five minutes, with or without him. Stepping into his shoes, Gerard grabs his bag and heads out of the room, walking down to the elevator. He can’t help but glance over at the restaurant as he passes through the lobby, smiling at the memories of the night before.

Later, on the bus, he reaches into the bag, pulling out the slip of paper and running his fingers over it. Who knows if the number would be lost in a few days? Or maybe Gerard would call him for that chat? Either way, at least they had the night.

Here's to the nights we felt alive. Here's to the tears you knew you'd cry.
Here's to good bye, tomorrow's gonna come too soon.

A/N: So here it is, officially starting over with my writing. I'll be editing as I go along, posting the rest of the story a chapter a week until I can get through the entire thing. Please let me know what story you'd like to see posted next.

I will eventually get everything back up and they'll all be located here at fueled_by_zero. So I don't spam the community with repeat posts, I'm going to wait until I get all the chapters done before posting the finished story in the communities. I just wanted to put this up in case people want to add the community to get the updates on their friends page as I post them.
