I had fully anticipated getting a "D" or "C" in Mrs. Herring's class. I never do the homework, and I failed a test and got a "D" on a quiz. I magically have a "B." A girl in class asked whether getting an "A" next nine weeks would raise her to a "B." Mrs. Herring's response: "Well, it really depends on how I feel when I enter the grades, you know, I deal with numbers so much. . . " Go reckon. I also have skipped class on the day of every test except one. I have no unexcused absences. I don't know whether to be grateful or appalled.

I took the chapter 9 math test today. That was a laugh. Probably two. For Mrs. Herring anyhow.
