Peter Pan syndrome: Prolonged Youth

Oct 28, 2008 22:16

This post can be viewed / understood in two ways: it can be seen as a very shallow post or possibly, it can make you think ;)

Anyway, for the past couple of months, we've been busy with our youth presentation. So far, we've presented the decks to 4 brands already. Anyway, last week, we've been talking about how today's youth keep on prolonging their "youthfulness". In short, Peter Pan syndrome. We just don't want to grow up!

Unlike before, people in their early 20s were already thinking of starting their own family, settling down and choosing a definite career path. Now, it's all about enjoying your youth, exploring possibilities and opportunities.

Anyway, this entry is getting too serious. I wrote about the Peter Pan syndrome because I, myself, am guilty of being stuck in being a youth! In fact, I'm probably stuck in the tween-teen years! hahaha

Why? Well, last saturday, I watched High School Musical 3: Senior Year (yes, complete title! haha) with my sister and to tell you honestly, I enjoyed it! I'm not gonna hide the fact that I followed the series since HSM 1 and I even have HSM songs in my iPod! Yeeees tween na kung tween! :p haha

Anyway, HSM 3 is a great way to end the series (well, with the same cast anyway because rumor has it that they're gonna have a 4th one / spin off with a new cast...Sharpay will probably be back since it was established that she'll help Ms. Darbus with the Drama Club). What's great about HSM 3? Gaaaaaah! THE SET! Maaan I love the stage! Second, the choreo! Woooot! Love Zac and Corbin's junkyard routine. yung pumapatong sa gulong! astig! And the cast improved their dancing. Kudos! The waltz number is nice too!

Anyway, back to the Peter Pan syndrome thing! Although in our youth definition, I am still part of the Pinoy Youth, I don't think I'm ready and willing to give up my youth yet. I still enjoy watching cartoons and tv series on Disney channel and Nickelodeon. I still love my teen dramas (hello?! Gossip Girl and Privileged anyone?)!

Is there a term for those stuck in between being teen/young adult and a full-time adult o yun na yung young adult? haha
