Tatsumi had sighed and frowned over the cost of the machine, but he couldn't stand up to so many pairs of pleading eyes. Eyes closed in resignation, he stamped his approval on the form, handing it back over to Tsuzuki, who favored him with a brilliant smile before he ran out of the office after the others.
Tatsumi watched him go, a faint smile pulling at his features. Such a silly thing to get so excited over, but then again Tsuzuki was an easy person to please really. Getting a karaoke machine was a small enough thing for that smile.

They all have their own secret pleasures, some not so secret, and each makes the office more interesting.
Konoe hand Tsuzuki are competing to see who has the bigger sweet tooth. There is a small betting pool on that one, with Tsuzuki in the lead.
Watari has his inventions and his sex change potion that he tries out on anyone who comes close enough and will guinea pig for him.
Tatsumi has his perfectly balanced budget and order, much to his pleasure this month.
Hisoka has his quiet moments and his books, and he has Tsuzuki when they get home.

The office was far too quiet. Tatsumi went about his daily duties, delivered the mail, took in the current budget and state of affairs. Watari popped in and out, quiet as a ghost, 003 traiing forlornly behind him.
Hisoka sat alone in his shared office, casting glances towards the empty desk across from him. Tatsumi gave him a small smile along with the mail.
“Don't worry. He will be fine.” He reassured the boy before he left. /After all, he has you to come back for./
He continued his rounds in silence. Funny, how one person's absence could cripple.

I searched for you for years. All I had was Grandfathers photograph, a fragile thing, worn from the years. His miracle patient, the one who survived eight years without food, water, sleep and multiple suicide attempts before finally succeeding. Locked in the photo, violet eyes stare vacantly back at me, the perfect specimen.
When I found you, as a shinigami no less, I knew. Knew fate had given grandfathers notes to me so I would know you. You still looked the same, beautiful and oh, so breakable. I had to have you.
Because without you, I couldn't bring Saki back.

Hisoka had a lot of painful firsts. Muraki had figured into most of them, starting with that night under the sakura trees. First time seeing a murder, first time being cursed to death. First time being violated.
Becoming a shinigami brought even more firsts. His first partner, his first assignment. The first time someone asked him to kill them, knowing he would.
But then there were other less painful times. Being dragged out for cake, shown the newest invention, even praised for his keeping Tsuzuki under control.
The best first of all, realizing he finally had a place to belong.
