Musical chairs? No, musical drabbles!

All 100 words apiece, for the karaoke challenge. Disclaimer: This is me not owning the Yami characters. And this is me not owning any of the lyrics quoted from various songs.

Tonight, Tsuzuki decided as he was slowly dance-humped by Muraki on the stage, could be filed under the "Should Not Have Gotten Out Of Bed This Morning" heading. After all, if he'd listened to his slacker's intuition this morning, he would not have gone to work, would not have messed up his paperwork, would not have had to endure one of Tatsumi's infamous lectures, would not have let Watari talk him into hitting the karaoke bars after work for some 'comfort,' and would definitely not be up here now getting molested publicly while Muraki crooned something about 'justifying his love.'

"Sensei, will you watch, too, please? Please?"

His smile was reserved but affectionate; warm in its simplicity. "Of course."

Ten-year-old Tsubaki happily took up a spot in front of her father and Sensei. At a nod from her the butler turned on the music, and Tsubaki warbled along with the lyrics as she danced. "Like a virgin...touched for the very first time..."

As she performed for her audience she cast several shy glances towards the doctor, gauging his reaction. In her heart, she hoped he could hear the longing in her voice as she poured out her love for him.

"Your mail, sir."

The clerk handed Tatsumi an audio cassette, which was labeled "Tsuzuki - Spending Money." The tape was accompanied by an all-too-familiar expense request form, the seventh this week.

Later in his office, Tatsumi played the tape as he dutifully stamped and filed the request form into the rejected pile with a bemused smile. That done, he composed a brief note to be delivered to Tsuzuki's mailbox for tomorrow:

Tsuzuki-san,

Although I appreciate your sharing the musical talents of Jimmy Buffett with me, you still aren't getting additional food expenses. Try something classical next time, perhaps?

Sincerely yours, Tatsumi

"I'd like to dedicate a song tonight," Hisoka said. "It's to a very special man, someone who's made a difference in my life, and I want to tell him how I really feel about him."

The crowd cheered, expecting a sentimental tribute as befitting a love song's performance. But they dissolved into nervous giggles as Hisoka launched into a litany of "And I, get sick when I'm around, I, can't stand to be around, I...hate everything about you!"

Muraki, seated in the front row, smiled pleasantly through it. But the silver daggers in his eyes promised an equally venomous response.

(The first two drabbles use Madonna's "Justify My Love" and "Like A Virgin", respectively. The third drabble is Jimmy Buffett's "Spending Money" - with a lyric like "I got no financial conscience", that's Tsu to a T! - and the fourth drabble is Ugly Kid Joe's "I Hate Everything About You." >:D )
