[There's another keyword to add to the list- 'Animus'. The way he says it indicates a position of power and these 'Animus' having done something that warrants revenge in the first place.

Ask him what the Animus are? If this is an illusion then buying in to the story would just be giving Aizen more power, more time to weave his tricks into Shinjis mind. Let's eliminate all suspicion as soon as possible, before trying to gather up more information.]
