Thank you all for your comments of encouragement in my last entry. The first day of school is tomorrow, so in addition to being completely nervous, I've been running around trying to get all my last needed supplies. Good golly, in seven years, I've forgotten how expensive and nerve-wracking school can be, haha.
I've taken a nice break from fandom and find I don't miss it all that much? Of course I miss talking to all of you and whatnot, but the deadlines and the drama and everything else? Not really. I've had a few ideas pop in my head for a couple of stories, but I'm content in letting them stay there for now. Though I readily admit, I just watched
April Snow, and I kind of want to do a Arthur/Merlin AU to it. Which is weird, because infidelity is usually a huge squick of mine. Maybe I'll do it for
reel_merlin if I have the time and desire later.
Speaking of Arthur/Merlin, have a quick rec:
-
The Apartment and Everything That Comes With It (Arthur/Merlin; PG-13)
Summary:The apartment is old. Windows still covered in cobwebs, paint peeling from the walls, the bathroom ceiling covered in mould.
It’s a dump.
It’s perfect.
Apart from the flickering lights.
I do love a good ghost story, and this did not disappoint. What I did not expect was a painful and bitterseweet plot to go along with it. Arthur's angst is so intense here, and fits him so well in my opinion. Read the tags and take caution if you proceed; this is not a happy story, and while the ending rounds everything out quite nicely, it's perhaps not the ending a lot of people would've liked.
I had more I wanted to talk about (re: new things I've become enamored with, such as
fresh, wonderful cartoons that make laugh so damn hard and
adorable Youtubers doing fantastic horror game Let's Plays), but it's past 3pm and I still have a lot to do. *sigh*
