I like dancing

Prom. Was. Fabulous. I had the best time. So here it is, in all its prommy glory.

Marcy, gram's hairdresser, came over @ about 12:30 to do my nails/hair/makeup. At about 2, Max called me. He told me he'd made finals at
All-City Swim Meet, and would not be able to pick me up. I immediately freak out, 'cause how awesome is it that he made finals? He ended up getting 6th in the city, by the way. So I'm all excited for him, and he's like, wait, aren't you mad? I told him no, I'd just get Steve to pick me up, and we'd see him at the Restaurant. no problem. I call Steve, make the plans, and then Laura (Max's mom, not friend Laura) calls, wanting to make sure I'm fine with this. YES. IT'S FINE. GEESH. Anyway, hair and makeup all done, get dress on. Steve picks me up, we go to Courtney's (Steve's girlfriend) house. Half of her family is there, as are Steve's parents and great-grandmother.

We wait for Laura (friend) and her date, Maxime, not to be confused with Max Clark. For reference, in this little description, Max is Maxime, and Princess is Max. Anyway, Laura and MAx finally show up. Many pictures are taken. We get into our respective cars after deciding to come back to Courtney's after prom, because she has a heated swimming pool and we wanted to swim. In the car, I call Princess' house to tell his mom to have him bring a suit. He pulls into the driveway at that moment, and since we're near his house anyway, Steve drops me off there. I wait in the living room while Princess gets dressed in the den. Imagine, a girl waiting for her date to get ready. Ahhh, the irony.

Anyway, he's finally ready. Came upstairs, and oh, did he look handsome. His mom takes a million pictures, then we get goin'. Get to the restaurant. Food is ordered. Everybody's laughing having a great time. Steve ordered veal. Ew. He convinced Princess and I to try it, 'cause we had launched into this diatribe about veal, but we've never tried it. (How can you say it's bad if you've never tried it? blah) so we each have a tiny bite, look at eachother, then look at Steve, and say simulataneously, "Tastes like innocents." it was so weird. Anyway, meal was great. I love Italian food.

After the meal, we all head to the dance. Princess and I roll up in his truck blasting intergalactic planetary just to piss people off. On the way in, i'm cold, so he just offers me his jacket. ah. sweet. Get into the ballroom, where prom is, and NOBODY IS DANCING. We were not early. we were actually quite tardy. Laura and Max immediately hit the dance floor, and are the only couple for a few songs. When a decent song finally comes on, Princess and I head out to the floor. We do not stop dancing for more than one song the entire time. It was strange. Beforehand, Princess had said he couldn't dance, but we get out there, and we're Travolta and Thurman. Awesome. Ya know in movies, where a couple hits the dance floor, and people just move because they're so fabulous? that was us. At one point, it was us, and like, 3 other couples, and all these other losers are just sitting at their tables watching us. how sad for them. But yeah, we had a great time. Strange, because the two of us usually HATE dances. but it was fun. I had someone to dance slow dances with, which was nice. Danced about 3 hours nonstop. I have a blister, a bruise, and some weird scratch marks on my feet. but still, fabulous. Then we went to courtney's, swam, dove, had fun. Princess drove me home @ about 2 AM.

All in all, it was some of the most fun I've ever had. I heart princess.
