The cars pass by so slowly
Another song pushed on repeat
I can almost hear your heart beating
Lights run together in the passing steets
The escape is somewhat painful
My tears blurr the lines on the road
Messing up the mascara I put on earlier.
The rose colored glasses I wear with you
Fade into the depths of my dispare
Replaced with a cruel sense of clairty.
I've worn these shades for so long
To cover up the side effects
Of my broken little life.
As I pull into a spot
Reserved just for me
The walk to peace and calm
Is too far away to climb to
The farther I run
The longer it takes to arrive.
The cars pass by so slowly
Another song pushed on repeat
I can almost hear your heart beating.
As I lay our love to rest
I watch it in reverse
Marking the moments too precious to forget
Crying at the sight of the mistakes we made
The bruises that remain will never fade.
No explanation will replace the feelings that I had
Days and nights blend in to one
And I can't remember the last time
That we just kissed and danced beneath the stars.
Pretending takes to much time
Acting is just an excuse
And I blame no one else
For the thoughts I have of you
